 Restorasi citra adalah proses penajaman fitur tertentu dari sua
tu citra (misalnya tepi, daerah atau kontras) agar dapat ditampi
lkan dengan lebih baik dan dapat dianalisis secara lebih meny
eluruh. Penyempurnaan citra ini tidak menambah kandungan i
nformasi pada citra, tetapi memperluas jangkauan dinamis sua
tu fitur sehingga dapat dideteksi atau diamati dengan lebih mu
dah dan tepat.

Contoh operasi perbaikan gambar:
• Perbaikan kontras gelap/terang
• Peningkatan tepi objek
( peningkatan tepi )
• Mengasah _ _
• Mewarnai semua (pseudocoloring)
• Penyaringan kebisingan
(penyaringan kebisingan)
Lingkup proses perbaikan citra:
1. Mengubah kecerahan (brightness)
2. Peregangan kontras _
3. Perubahan histogram
4. Pelembutan gambar (smoothing)
5. Penajaman tepi _
6. Pewarnaan semu (pewarnaan semu)

 Beberapa teknik peningkatan kualitas gambar yang biasa digunakan antara lain:

Restorasi citra (image restoration) dapat dibedakan dengan perbaikan ci
tra (image enhancement), di mana proses yang dilakukan dalam perbaik
an citra lebih bersifat heuristik dan lebih dititikberatkan pada upaya mela
kukan aksentuasi fitur dalam citra.
Berikut ini merupakan contoh aplikasi pemrograman matlab mengenai re
storasi citra. Coding dapat dijalankan menggunakan software matlab min
imal versi r2014b.
Model Derau Aditif
Citra noise test
Derau aditif adalah suatu jenis derau yang ditambahkan pada citra asli se
hingga mengubah nilai intensitas piksel pada citra. Derau aditif dapat men
urunkan
kualitas citra dan mengganggu proses pengolahan citra. Derau aditif dapa
t
berupa derau impuls (salt & pepper), derau uniform, derau gaussian, atau
derau
rayleigh. Untuk menghilangkan atau mengurangi derau aditif pada citra, d
apat
digunakan beberapa metode filter, seperti filter rata-rata, filter median, ata
u
filter bilateral.

Derau impuls (salt & pepper): Derau ini terjadi ketika be
berapa piksel pada citra memiliki nilai intensitas yang san
gat tinggi
(putih) atau sangat rendah (hitam) secara acak, sehingga
menimbulkan kesan seperti garam dan merica. Derau ini
dapat
disebabkan oleh kesalahan transmisi data, kerusakan sen
sor,
atau interferensi sinyal.
Derau uniform
Derau uniform: Derau ini terjadi ketika nilai intensitas pi
ksel pada citra memiliki distribusi seragam (uniform) dala
m rentang tertentu, sehingga menimbulkan
kesan seperti kabut atau debu. Derau ini dapat disebabk
an
oleh pencahayaan
yang tidak merata, kualitas lensa yang buruk, atau gangg
uan
atmosfer.
