This document summarizes the lessons learned from a daughter following her 63-year-old mother on Twitter. Some of the key lessons are that the mother tweets similar things as the daughter, privacy is complicated when family is on social media, age does not define being able to use technology, the mother supports her daughter online, and real relationships matter more on social media than the number of followers or friends. The daughter was initially surprised her mother was on Twitter but they have found it can bring family members closer together through sharing parts of their lives online.
