IFAC, the World Bank, and the Arab Federation of Accountants and Auditors hosted a webinar on June 21, 2022, Connecting the Accountancy Education Ecosystem. The webinar provided a forum to encourage regional collaboration, foster collaboration with those influence the accounting education system, and provide access to experts. The event in June attracted more than 1,000 registrants and 500 live participants from our member organizations, regional Network Partners, supreme audit institutions, government and key accountancy education stakeholders.

• Jordan Association of Certified Public Accountants (JACPA) founded in
accordance with law No (32) of 1985
• In the new law of 2003, JACPA & The Higher Council for Accountancy
Profession (HCAP) which is led by the Minister of Industries and Trade,
regulate the profession together
• The exam and licensing committees are mixed between government and
JACPA representatives

Collaboration between
JACPA & HCAP
• For initial professional development (IPD), universities and the Ministry of Higher Education
and Scientific Research share responsibility for developing the degree curricula and program
structure
• Entrance to the profession, examination, licensure, practice experience and continuing
professional development (CPD) are the shared responsibilities of HCAP and JACPA.
 HCAP responsible for oversight of audit profession and approves granting or revocation of
CPA licenses.
 JACPA maintains mandatory membership for CPAs in Jordan and responsible for
administering professional certification examinations and verifying fulfillment of practical
experience and CPD requirements.

Objectives of the committee
1- Accepts the applications of JACPA candidates

Building an innovative knowledge economy aims at providing
highly qualified and experience auditors
Adopting financial reporting ecosystem model, making UAE
one of the first countries in the world to adopt such advanced
model.
New regulations to allow UAE nationals to engage in the
auditing profession without a Bachelor’s degree as contrary to
the previously existing law, however, meeting specific
conditions and criteria.
Introduction of the UAE Fellowship program as an eligibility
criteria for practice and mandatory completion of 15 hours of
approved professional training and meeting the experience
requirement
