If you could give teenagers one piece of advice, what would it be?
1. ХӨДӨӨ АЖ АХУЙН ИХ СУРГУУЛЬ
MONGOLIAN UNIVERSITY OF LIFE SCIENCES
If you could give teenagers one piece of advice,
what would it be?
2. What is adolescence age?
According to the World Health Organization, children aged 11-19
are considered adolescents. Up to 49% of Mongolia's population is
between the ages of 11 and 25.That is why Mongolia is called the
land of youth. Of these, 28% are children aged 11-19.
3. What problems do teenagers have?
•The common teenage problems that teenagers face today are
usually related to:
•Use of social networks
•Stress
•Bulling
•Depression
•Drinking and Smoking
•Teen Pregnancy
•Defiant Behaviors
•Peer-Pressure and Competition
4. Use of social networks
Problem
Online communication with its potential for interacting with unknown others, may put teens
at increased risk. The number of Facebook users in Mongolia is 2.1 times higher than the
world average and 3.6 times higher than the average in Asia. In 2017, 3.2 million Mongolians
interacted with the 1.7 millionth Facebook page. In early 2018, in January 2018, the
Communications Regulatory Commission was introduced to increase tourism and conduct
research. One in three children over the age of 10 in Mongolia has a Facebook account. Forty-
seven percent of children who use Facebook have two or more addresses.A child who wants
to be out of the control of parents, to attack the reputation of others, to pay attention to
social media, has ended up living under a false address.
Solution
The attention of parents should be improved and the time to use social networks
(facebook, instagram) should be set to 2 hours a day. This will prevent you from
interacting with strangers and viewing negative information on social media.
5. Stress and Bulling
Bullying is a significant social stressor for children and
adolescents and has an estimated prevalence
depending on the definition of bullying and the sample
used. Peer maltreatment is estimated to be between 20
and 45%; bullying that occurs once a week or more can
be as high as 32%. Bullying behaviours emerge as a
consequence of repeated exposure to aggression in the
form of verbal hostility, teasing, physical violence, or
social exclusion .
6. Depression
Teen depression is a serious mental health problem that
causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest in
activities. It affects how your teenager thinks, feels and
behaves, and it can cause emotional, functional and physical
problems. Teen depression isn't a weakness or something that
can be overcome with willpower — it can have serious
consequences and requires long-term treatment. For most
teens, depression symptoms ease with treatment such as
medication and psychological counseling.
7. Drinking and Smoking
Smoking. Smoking is very
unhealthy. It can stain teeth, cause
bad breath, increase respiratory problems, reduce
the rate of lung growth and decrease physical
fitness performance and endurance. Smoking is very
addictive.That means it can be
very difficult to stop even if a person tries very
hard. The best advice is “never start.”
Alcohol Drinking and doing drugs impair
judgment significantly.This puts teens and
others in great danger.The overwhelming
majority of accidents that occur during the teen
years are thought to be alcohol or drug related.
Many of these accidents lead to serious injuries
and in some cases death. If you are a teen,
don’t do it!The real “leader” of the group will
make healthy, safe choices.
According to the survey, 70.6 percent of Mongolian adolescents (12-17 years old)
Alcohol and tobacco use have risen sharply among people aged 14-18. At this age, children are more likely
to experience loneliness, frustration, insomnia, and suicidal ideation, according to aWorld School-based
child health study.
8. Teen Pregnancy
In Mongolia, about 4,000 girls become mothers in their teens each year. According to the
World Health Organization, having a child under the age of 19 is considered a teenage
birth. In Mongolia, adolescent girls are thought to be pregnant between the ages of 17
and 19, but teen pregnancies are becoming younger. For example, a 12-year-old girl
approached the Princess Center, which protects the rights of girls and mothers, on the
grounds of an unwanted pregnancy. No one wants to be a mother in their teens or early
teens to prepare for their dream life. It is no secret that the number of girls who have
abortions because they do not want to is even higher. According to official statistics, in
2016 alone, 916 teenage girls had abortions.
9. Defiant Behaviors
Children need rules and limits. Children, especially teenagers, need to know that there are
acceptable standards of behavior that must comply with. Sometimes the most favorite word for
a child is “no”. It can become extremely frustrating when all you, as a parent, want is to have
your young child brush his teeth. You know it’s best for him, but it can turn into a struggle as
the child is asserting their independence. But keeping firm, patient, and knowing that this too
shall pass, usually deals with that behavior in the long term. This is also normal behavior.
Although every child can show oppositional or defiant behavior at times, the behavior can
become harmful when it becomes the child’s consistent behavior over a period of time. When
the oppositional and defiant behavior becomes the norm in your child’s life to the point that it’s
extremely disruptive or damaging to the child is when you should start to feel alarmed and ask
for help.
10. My one piece of advice
It is at this age that you determine who you will be in the future
very well acquainted and fit independently of his personal character
Learn to draw conclusions and distinguish between your good and bad qualities.
Open your inner world to your parents and teachers,
You need to show yourself in action what you can do.
And your parents and teachers will do anything for your good
Try to understand them as accurately as possible.
Interact honestly and faithfully with them.Who are you? very well known
know. define your desire to express yourself.
Be careful when communicating with peers and friends of this age
need to communicate. Because how do you define a friend?
Your friend is more likely to reflect on that. And a friend
Make your friends feel valued at all times.
In adolescence, get information from friends rather than parents or teachers
Always pass on accurate information to your friends.
11. Thank You For Your Attention
Have a nice day
