This prayer was written for the 2016 International Eucharistic Congress. It addresses Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of God's plan of salvation for all people. It acknowledges the Eucharist as the most holy sacrament that Jesus left for the Church. The prayer asks that through celebrating the Eucharist and receiving Jesus' body and blood, God will strengthen us to continue Jesus' mission of salvation in the world through the power of the Holy Spirit. It concludes by praising God in the unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
