What is an idiom?
• An idiom is a word or phrase that
  means something different than you
  would think from the individual words.
• For example, what does “give up”
  mean?
   o Can you actually give something
     “up” (not “down”?)
A “piece of cake”

“Piece of cake” = Easy
• That spelling test was so easy I thought it was a
  piece of cake.
Icing on the cake
