Identifying verbs
- 2. - 3. VERBS • tells an action or condition or a state of being indicate in a sentence. •It is the heart of the sentence. •Without a verb no expression of thought is possible.
- 4. ACTION VERBS •Shows an action •Expresses a mental or physical action. –Example: •Kim plays volleyball after school •Rose dreamed that she will be a millionaire
- 5. LINKING VERBS •Does not express action and connects the subject and the predicate. •“Be” verbs like “am”, “is”, “are”, and “were” –Example: •I am a flower quickly fading. •Sheed and Elaine are friends.
