Delta Airlines Stock Performance Analysis
Webster University
Introduction and Company Overview
Delta Airlines has a rich history having been started in 1929 in Macon, GA and grew to be one of the main US carriers that offer comparatively cheap flights. The company currently has existing flights to Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Asia and is headquartered in Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, GA. The firm sells its tickets using different distribution channels such as delta.com, online travel agencies, mobile applications, telephone reservations as well as traditional brick and mortar structures (Manuela Jr, Rhoades & Curtis, 2016). Delta has managed to invest in a fleet of around 800 aircraft that are used for flying clients to their destinations cost-effectively.
I became interested in Delta Airlines since I traveled with the company and was impressed by the ability of the company to offer quality services at very competitive rates. As a result, I felt drawn to the brand as it was not exploitative. The brand recognition and loyalty to the company have ensured that the stock value of the company continues to increase. The company has a robust air transportation infrastructure for transporting passengers and cargo internationally as well as in the United States (McKenna, 2018). The company bases its operations on two segments namely refinery and Airline. The route system for Delta Airline uses a system of markets and hubs in various airports in many cities such as Amsterdam, Boston, Detroit, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Heathrow, La Guardia- New York, JFK-New York, Charles de Gaulle-Paris, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Narita-Tokyo, Sao Paulo, and Seoul-Incheon.
The company offers other services such as repair, maintenance, and overhaul services; aircraft charters, vacation packages to third party consumers as well as management and programs. This diversification has served the company well and has made it one of the most profitable airline companies in the United States. The banning from March 2019 of Boeing Max 737 has also served the company since it did not own any of such aircraft. The exposure of other companies that have led to massive cancellations for flights created an opportunity for the company to increase their income (Ward, Edmondson & Matthews, 2017). Delta Airlines has continued to over-perform the forecasts of various analysts as well as their own during the last 2 years which indicates the strength of the brand.
The reason why I consider Delta Airlines stock to be a lucrative investment is based on its strong brand performance augmented by a dependable financial track record. Delta has always focused on enhancing most of its premium products as well as non-ticket revenue sources, hence continuing to support its strong revenue growth. The competitive advantage that the company enjoys is also based on the favorable transpor ...

Etihad Airways has adopted a partnership approach to offer a new model for airline competition in the industry. The President of Etihad Airways, James Hogan, delivered a keynote address stating that with such high barriers to entry for new carriers, no single airline could hope to compete effectively on its own against legacy carriers. However, through partnerships where Etihad takes minority equity investments in other airlines, they are able to create a new competitive choice for air travelers. This partnership strategy has helped create the seventh largest airline group in the world and delivers hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue while benefiting consumers.
In 2007 and 2008, Airbus delivered their A380 to Singapore Airlines and Emirates, launching an entirely new era of travel. Luxury, privacy and extravagance became the aim, and the expectations for those ideals continue to increase today.

Strategic Mistakes That Led To The Failure Of Kingfisher AirlinesSourav Giri
Kingfisher Airlines made several strategic mistakes that led to its failure, including unrealistic market analysis, unrelated diversification into the airline industry, an ill-advised merger with Air Deccan, and maintaining a diversified fleet of aircraft with varying capacities. These strategic decisions demonstrated a lack of understanding of the market and industry. Additionally, high operating costs, delays in salary payments, and growing debt from unpaid fuel, airport, and service taxes exacerbated the company's financial troubles and ultimately caused its operations to be shut down in 2012.

inclusion underscores its successful transformation, which has resulted in a stock price appreciation of

community.Working with, knowing and supporting the Hispanic community is also good for business. We build relationships
with small, minority, women, disability, veteran, service-disabled veteran and LGBTQ vendors which make up the fabric of our

Delta (USA) named a ‘Best Workplace for Women’ for 3rd straight year
Feel free to contact us at marketing@itshades.com for any queries
15
Great Place to Work® and Fortune have named Delta Air Lines as one of the country's Best Workplaces for Women, the
third year in a row the airline has earned this honor. The list considered employee surveys from hundreds of businesses in
all sectors of the economy. The ranking gauged women's assessment of their organizations' culture, leadership, fairness
and other elements essential for a great workplace. Delta placed 67th on the list and is the only airline to be included. To
determine the Best Workplaces for Women, Great Place to Work analyzed anonymous survey feedback representing more
than 4.6 million U.S. employees. Most of the ranking is based on what women themselves report in a 60-question "Trust
Index" survey about their workplace, and how fairly those experiences compare to men's reports of the same
workplaces.Fifteen percent of the remaining rank is based on how well represented women are in the workforce and
throughout management, considering industry trends. To be considered, at a minimum, companies need to employ at least
50 women, at least 20 percent of their non-executive managers need to be female, and at least one of their executives needs
to be female.

communities by exploring methods to enhance last-mile delivery service, improve access to health care products, and create a new
avenue of growth for local businesses. Drone delivery in the United States has historically been limited to small-scale demonstrations
on designated test sites, or extremely short flights along pre-planned, fixed routes – all within the visual line of sight of the drone
operator. Earlier this year, Wing became the first drone operator to be certified as an air carrier by the Federal Aviation

departure control modules, back in 2014. With this latest agreement, Amadeus’ global network of travel sellers will
have access to a broader range of JAL’s content, including the full range of international, as well as preferred and
negotiated fares. All of this content will be available for travel sellers to shop, book and service through the
Amadeus Travel Platform. In addition, because JAL relies on Amadeus’ passenger service system,
Amadeus-connected travel agents will enjoy real-time, accurate and efficient information sharing with complete
visibility of the airline’s inventory; all designed to enable travel sellers to deliver even greater customer service.

MOL (Japan) Starts Demonstration Test of Vessel Image Recognition
System Using AI Technology on Nippon Maru
Feel free to contact us at marketing@itshades.com for any queries
35
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. announced the joint development, along with SenseTime Japan Ltd. of a new vessel image
recognition and recording system, and the system’s installation for demonstration testing aboard the cruise ship "Nippon
Maru" operated by Mitsui O.S.K. Passenger Line, Ltd. The system’s graphic recognition engine was developed by
incorporating MOL’s knowledge and applying artificial intelligence (AI) deep learning technology, allowing it to recognize
surrounding vessels. The system recognizes and automatically records vessels with high accuracy using a terminal equipped
with a graphic processing unit (GPU) and ultrahigh-resolution cameras. The image recognition technology, which can be used
even at night or during other periods of poor visibility, can detect small vessels (*) that are not recognizable by vessel
automatic identification systems (AIS). MOL views advanced image recognition as an underlying technology needed for
automated watch-keeping, as the company works to realize the autonomous smart ships of the future.MOL has moved ahead
with advanced support of safe operation and reduction of its environmental impact, as set out in the "ISHIN NEXT - MOL
SMART SHIP PROJECT -," launched in November 2016, and aims to become the customers' first choice as a logistics partner
by applying information and communications technology (ICT) to improve service quality and efficiency.

NYK (Japan) Concludes Long-term Contract for Van Phong Coal-fired
Power Project in Vietnam
Feel free to contact us at marketing@itshades.com for any queries
37
NYK has concluded a 25-year contract with Van Phong Power Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of
Sumitomo Corporation for the transport of coal for the Van Phong coal-fired power project to be newly constructed
in Vietnam. Shipments will begin from 2023, and the volume is expected to be up to 3.4 million tons annually. The
coal will be transported mainly from Australia and Indonesia for a new coal-fired power plant in the Van Phong
Special Economic Zone in Vietnam’s KhanhHoa province. It has been reported that Vietnam’s future supply of
electricity may not be adequate to meet the demands of the country’s rapid economic growth, so NYK expects these
fuel transportation contracts will help ensure a stable energy supply. In accordance with its new medium-term
management plan “Staying Ahead 2022 with Digitalization and Green” announced last year, the NYK Group is
meticulously controlling its exposure to market conditions by maintaining and expanding long-term contracts in the
dry bulk division. NYK will continue its effort to contribute to reliable energy supplies through safe transportation
and the expansion of business that generates stable revenue and is resistant to volatile market conditions.

NYK (Japan) Enters into Capital and Business Tie-up for
Laser Technology
Feel free to contact us at marketing@itshades.com for any queries
38
NYK has entered into a capital and business tie-up with Toyokoh Inc. to develop business that will be able to make use of
Toyokoh’s epoch-making CoolLaser® technology within the maritime field for improved maintenance. Equipment at
terminals and steel used on a ship’s deck are susceptible to rust due to the harsh outdoor ocean environment, which can
lead to corrosion arising from severe salinity, temperatures, humidity, and ultraviolet rays, all exacerbated by scratches
resulting from wear from cargo loading, etc. During voyages, crew members usually remove rust with power tools and
then repaint. But a tremendous amount of repetitive work is required, and the repair does not remain in good condition for
long. In August 2018, NYK signed a memorandum of understanding with Toyokoh to jointly examine the development of
a corrosion-prevention business, and technical experiments conducted afterward have confirmed the benefits of reducing
the on-deck maintenance workload of crew members, extending the lives of ships and equipment (thus reducing lifecycle
costs), and reducing environmental loads during dry-dock. NYK will seek to use its expertise and accumulated data to
introduce the CoolLaser® technology into the maritime field with the aim to realize and commercialize more advanced
maintenance methods making use of ICT and automation in the future.
