Predictive Failure Analysis & Light Path Diagnostics
Predictive Failure Analysis (PFA) : Key components in the IBM System x range of servers that
provides the ability to monitor the health of server components and generate an alert up to 48 hours
before failure actually occurs. This provides the ability to either hot-swap the component (if applicable) or
schedule downtime at low-impact times for the component to be changed or refreshed.
IBM implements PFA on more server components than
any other vendor. The System x components currently
! protected by PFA are:
