The IBDP Visual Arts core syllabus consists of three equal interrelated areas: Communicating visual arts, Visual arts methods, and Visual arts in context. Students are required to investigate these areas through theoretical, art-making, and curatorial practices. They complete a comparative study, process portfolio, and exhibition to demonstrate their learning, which are externally and internally assessed for grades.
