This paper also lists some techniques that, although already employed by different classes of mobile robots, have not been employed yet on sUAS, but may lead to satisfactory results. Furthermore, this publication highlights some limitations in the theoretical and technological solutions underlying existing guidance, navigation, and control systems for sUAS and places special emphasis on some of the most relevant gaps that hinder the integration of these three systems. In light of the surveyed results, this paper provides recommendations for macro-research areas that would improve the overall quality of autopilots for autonomous sUAS and would facilitate the transition of existing results from sUAS to larger autonomous aircraft for payload delivery and commercial transportation.

The rapid growth of urbanization has created greater demand for vehicles, which results in more fuel consumption and has given rise to the establishment of filling stations in other to satisfy those needs. A petrol filling station is important but meanwhile it is a hazardous facility, so special attention is paid on its location. The paper is aimed at location analysis of filling stations in Port Harcourt local government area of rivers state using GIS approach through acquisition of primary and secondary datasets of the study area, creation of a functional spatial database and spatial attribute queries that will aid in the location analysis of filling stations in compliance with petroleum safety rules and regulations. The result shows that About 7 filling stations were located close to residential buildings, 14 out of 38 filling stations do not have adequate fire extinguishers, 14 filling stations have its pumping machine close to the road and 15 filling station lie in electricity high tension right of way. It is recommended that the regulating bodies should frequently inspect these filling stations to ensure that all the safety measures are properly observed and equipments are put in place.

Abstract In southern part of India, most of the precipitation occurs due to south-west monsoon during the months of June to September. Storage reservoirs are constructed to store the run-off volume and utilize it for long term requirements in the command such as irrigation, power generation, domestic water supply etc. The sediment deposition in the reservoir is a continuous and complex process. Sediment in a river which originates from the land erosion process in the catchment is propagated along with the river flow and finally gets deposited in the reservoir. This has adverse effect such as reduction in storage capacity and increase in backwater levels. For the long term and yearly planning of efficient utilization of reservoir capacity, estimation of sediment deposit is not only sufficient but also estimation of trapped sediment at different levels in the reservoir is required. Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) based Integrated Bathymetric Survey System for hydrographic survey is used for estimation of sediment deposition pattern in the Koyna reservoir. In this method three or more satellite based GPS receivers are used in differential mode for positioning. Ecosounder is used for depth measurements. GPS reference receiver is located at a known latitude and longitude position and GPS mobile receiver is located on the survey boat. Both the GPS operate in differential mode through a communication link. From this study (2004) it is observed that sedimentation rate in Koyna reservoir is more than 6.5 Ham/100 sq.km/year anticipated in 1949.
