This document outlines the design and development of a hybrid vertical axis wind turbine project. The objectives are to generate continuous power from wind and solar energy during the day and night, and to design and manufacture a prototype model. It will utilize solar and wind energy effectively to maximize electric output. The turbine will be installed on highways to take advantage of moving vehicles. It consists of semi-circular blades connected to a disc and motor shaft. The motor is connected to a battery to store power for street lights. A solar panel on top of the turbine will provide power when there is no wind. The working plan timeline is provided spanning 4 months for the different development phases. Challenges like low wind speed and material selection are discussed.
