Human rights are generally respected in Greece according to international agreements it has signed. However, some organizations have reported increasing racially motivated attacks on immigrants by extremist groups. Millions of children as victims of war flee to other countries. Almost never in the history children were exposed to such brutality as it has been these last few years, especially children refugees. They are the most vulnerable population in wars, emergency crises and they are facing with dangers from violence, abuse, illnesses, kidnapping and abducting. Traveling without their parents, the children refugees are more exposed to danger from child trafficking, kidnapping and adoptions. The children refugees who are traveling unaccompanied are in biggest danger from the traffickers.
The migrant crises that has been happening in Europe in the last two years brought number of risks and dangers for thousands of unaccompanied children who came to Southeastern Europe, including Macedonia. Europe is facing with the biggest crises these last few decades and Macedonia inadvertently “entered” in the center of the crises. The First children’s embassy in the world Megjashi reacted even in 2015 and demanded that no child would be allowed to transit without a parent, guardian or close family member. What we, as First Children’s Embassy in the world Megjashi most appeal is mobility and commitment of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Optional Protocols to the Convention on the Rights of the Child that they must not allow their children to be exposed to the risk to be abused or separated from their families

Father Antonios' goal is to keep children with their mothers by also providing assistance to homeless and low-income mothers.

Traveling without their parents, the children refugees are more exposed to danger from child trafficking, kidnapping and adoptions. The children refugees who are traveling unaccompanied are in biggest danger from the traffickers.
The migrant crises that has been happening in Europe in the last two years brought number of risks and dangers for thousands of unaccompanied children who came to Southeastern Europe, including Macedonia. Europe is facing with the biggest crises these last few decades and Macedonia inadvertently “entered” in the center of the crises. Children on the move face many safety risks and concerns and when Europe is not proving able to handle the influx of migrants from a child rights perspective, these risks become even more severe. The European Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC) therefore decided to develop this report, to establish an overview of the current safety risks for children on the move in Europe and of the degree to which they have access to their rights, both while travelling to and through Europe and upon arrival in their country of destination.
Due to the lack of legal opportunities to enter the EU to apply for asylum, almost all children use irregular routes, facilitated by smugglers, to reach Europe. Some arrive via different land routes from Eastern European states to neighbouring EU member states, but most cross the Mediterranean on small boats, mainly from Turkey to Greece, but also from Northern Africa to Italy.
The sea journey is dangerous for children – about 30% of migrants drowning are children. During the winter, children arrive wet and cold, and many are at risk of hypothermia, causing different illnesses, including pneumonia. - 3. Human rights in Greece are observed by various organizations. The country is a signatory to the European Convention on Human Rights, the Geneva Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and the United Nations Convention Against Torture.
- 4. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the local media and Non-Governmental Associations have reported an increasing number of racially motivated attacks on immigrants by extremist groups.
