Ferguson arrived at Manchester United in 1986 with a vision to knock Liverpool "off their perch" as the dominant English club. Over more than two decades as manager, he formulated strategies that led United to an unprecedented era of success, winning numerous domestic and European titles through his strengths in recruitment, training, development, communication, and performance management.
