2. ABSTRACT
This report contains full information regarding the Analysis of
human resource at the Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic
Research (IGCAR) at Kalpakkam based on their age, gender,
present grade of employee, modes of appointment, grade at
the time of appointment and year of appointment.
The study was based on descriptive research technique.
sampling technique being used is convenience sampling.
size of sample is 100. The data’s are collected using
primary and secondary sources of data. The primary
collection involves collection of data from company’s

3. COMPANY PROFILE
Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR) is a
premier atomic research center of India. The center is
engaged in broad based multidisciplinary programme of
scientific research and advanced engineering directed
towards the development of Fast Breeder Reactor
technology. The Reactor Research Center set up at , India,
80Kalpakkam km south of Chennai in 1971 under the
Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) was renamed Indira
Gandhi Center for Atomic Research in the year 1985.
The Reactor Research Center was established in 1971.
4. REVIEW OF LITERATURE
In the latter part of the 1990’s and into the early 2000’s there
has been a further evolution to take the HR role back to the
business managers. The decisions and actions being taken near
to the people with the old style HR divisions being streamlined
into a more consultative role provided knowledge and best
practice guidelines but only interacting at a strategic level. HR
business partners and internal HR consultants are now the more
prevalent model, with the HR administrative actions being
undertaken at the front line of the business.
5. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

Analysis of employee of IGCAR on the basis of age.
Analysis of employee of IGCAR on the basis of their
present grade.
6. NEED OF THE STUDY
This study helps the human resource analyst at IGCAR to
understand the nature of human resource available in the
company. It will help the company to analyze their
employee in a better way and will help them at the time of
recruitment. By this can make a clear idea about what
type of employee are available to them and are to be
recruited in the future and by which mode. It will give the
previous trend of recruitment of employee as well as
present employee grade.
7. SCOPE OF THE STUDY
This study is confined to study of human resources
analysis at Homi Bahava building in IGCAR at kalpakkam.
The total number of employee at Homi Bhava building in
IGCAR is 2521 from march-1971 to july 2013. The study is
being done by taking sample of 100 employee. By this study
Human Resource analyst will know about the employee and
how they are being appointed ,what is the hierarchy in
promotion, and how many employee were appointed in
certain period.
By this study they can identify number of male and female
ratio of employee in different type of mode of appointment.
This study will give the age details of employee with their
present grade and will help human resource analyst to
judge about the retirement details of employee and for the
appointment of employee. The information can be added to
this further and will be helpful while recruiting new
employee.

Female ratio with male has to be increased in all the
department in IGCAR and this can be done by giving
some reservation to them . The number of

be made by training methods because it will more
easier for them to cope with the technical work much
easier than other.
