Saudi Vision 2030 and involvement of Saudi Women Contribution to Job Market
Razan Momenah
rozemomenah@gmail.com
King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stated that “My
first objective is for our country to be a pioneering and successful global model of excellence, on
all fronts, and i will work with you to achieve that” (Gazette, 2016). Prince Mohammad Bin
Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud the Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development
Affairs confirming this goal saying, it is my pleasure to present Saudi Arabia’s vision for the future.
It is an ambitious yet achievable blueprint, which expresses our long-term goals and expectations
and reflects our country’s strengths and capabilities. (Gazette, 2016).
Saudi Vision 2030 is an arrangement to lessen Saudi Arabia's reliance on oil, broaden its economy,
and create open administration areas, for instance, well-being, training, foundation, amusement,
and tourism (Investment, 2016). Objectives incorporate strengthening financial and venture
exercises, expanding non-oil industry exchange between nations through merchandise and shopper
items, and expanding government spending on the military, fabricating gear, and ammo. One off
the plan, giving Equal Opportunities for all citizens in workplaces (Vision, 2016).
The Saudi economy will give chances to everybody – men and women, young and old – so that
they may add to the best of their capacities (Vision, 2016). The Saudi economy will put a restored
accentuation on deep-rooted preparing and will try to benefit as much as possible from the
capability of our workforce by empowering a culture of the elite.
2
These endeavors will be facilitated by the late settled Job Creation and Anti-Unemployment
Commission (Vision, 2016). One of our most noteworthy resources is our exuberant and dynamic
youth. We will ensure their abilities are produced and appropriately conveyed. While numerous
different nations are worried about maturing populaces, the greater part of the Saudi populace is
beneath the age of 25 years. We will exploit this statistic profit by outfitting our childhood's vitality
and by extending business and undertaking openings (Vision, 2016). Saudi women are yet another
extraordinary resource. With more than 50 percent of our college graduates being female, we will
keep on developing their gifts, put resources into their beneficial capacities and empower them to
fortify their future and add to the advancement of our community and economy.
The recent announcements regarding women being allowed to drive and to enter the three main
national stadia reflect an on-going transformation in the role and contribution of women in societies
across the MENAT region over the past few years. Traditional societal boundaries are changing in
line with the belief that a more inclusive attitude will benefit overall economic progress (Bank,
2013).
The gap between girls and boys in terms of access to education and healthcare, for example, has
been all but eradicated. According to a World Bank report, almost all young girls in the region
attend school and more women than men are enrolled in university. Over the past 20 years,
maternal mortality in the MENA region has declined 60%, the largest decrease in the world (Bank,
2013).
We will likewise empower those of our kin with incapacities to get the training and openings for
work that will guarantee their freedom and reconciliation as viable individuals from society. They
will be given the offices and apparatuses required to put them on the way to business achievement.

However, the biggest opportunity for the hiring is for the woman. In 2015, women in Saudi Arabia
were able to both vote and run in municipal elections for the first time (The Guardian, 2017).
While in December 2017, it was announced that cinemas would once again be allowed to open in
the country, after an absence of over 35 years (The Guardian, 2017).
The women in the past don’t have enough opportunity in the workplace that makes them able to
involve (Reynolds, 2017). It was too hard to work in the most of the company, market,
governmental agency, and Institutions. However, women will probably deal with their youngsters
or take care of elderly guardians. Joined with the increasing expenses of childcare, there are
different obstructions, which ruin women from achieving the best occupations.
In addition, woman will see one ability on an occupation specification that she does not feel
confident about and discard her application, while a man will apply for a similar activity in view
of the one aptitude that they do have. Since the best levels of most segments are as of now
overwhelmed by men, there are a lot of individuals that more youthful men can identify with and
get some assistance from as they scale the stepping stool. Schuller depicts this system as "In
addition to" – individuals like us. Areas that are overwhelmed by women, for example, educating
and nursing, have a tendency to become up short on with respect to different divisions.
In addition, in September 2017, Saudi Arabia’s National Day celebrations included women at a
range of events including concerts, laser shows, and plays (The Guardian, 2017), organized by the
General Entertainment Authority as part of its responsibility to grow the entertainment sector (also
outlined in Vision 2030). In a precursor to the Government’s subsequent announcement, women
were allowed to enter the King Fahd International Stadium for the first time (The Guardian, 2017)
to watch the festivities. Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman said: “We see our country, thanks be
4
to God, as an active member of the G20, a group that comprises the world’s strongest economies.
With tremendous ambition, we look forward to the Kingdom becoming a pioneering model in all
respects, relying on the roles played by our young male and female citizens, as we strive to achieve
the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030” (Vision, 2016).
In a society known for its conservative values, there is emerging evidence of attitudinal shifts
among working women, too. Saudi Arabia still operates a male guardianship system in which
females must gain permission to travel or speak with members of the opposite sex. However, when
asked about their comfort in working in mixed-sex environments, 73% of employed women said
they were either “extremely comfortable” or “comfortable to some extent”. Only a combined 9%
reported being “uncomfortable to some extent” or “not at all comfortable” (‘Status of Working
Women in The Middle East Survey’, 2014)
There have been enormous changes for women regarding work in the previous decades, with
women moving into paid work outside the home in ways that their grandmas and even their moms
could just dream of that. There are (a few) prominent women CEOs. There is a little yet expanding
number of female presidents. Women are moving into occupations that used to be finished by men.
Indeed, even those women working in processing plants or sweatshops have more decision and
freedom than if they stayed at home. There are many reasons to increase the shear of women in the
job market. First, Women exceed expectations at the delicate abilities required for business
authority while specialized ability and information are essential to vocation achievement; CEOs
reliably refer to delicate aptitudes as the most alluring proficient qualities. In spite of the fact that
qualities like powerful correspondence, compassion, and mindfulness are hard to quantify, they
are exceedingly esteemed and can have a genuine effect to all that really matters. Late research has
drawn an association between quality of character and business execution with CEOs who rank
5
profoundly for traits like sympathy and uprightness additionally getting a charge out of a profit.
Delicate aptitudes and enthusiastic knowledge may demonstrate a key upper hand for women in
the business. These capabilities included passionate mindfulness, compassion, peace promotion,
versatility, and cooperation—every single fundamental ability for powerful administration in the
working environment. Second, developing number of women, the quickest course to the c-suite is
propelling their own business. The number women possessed organizations have expanded in the
course of recent years. The present start-up culture engages women to work for themselves and
pay their own compensation, characterizing how they need to work and making the adjust of
profession and family life simpler. Enterprise introduces a way for women to close the
compensation hole and ascend to initiative positions, all alone terms. Running their own
organization likewise offers the open door for ladies to team up with and contract different driven,
similarly invested ladies, encouraging another age of ladies in influential positions.
As we know vison 2030(Vision, 2016), they will increase the women shear in the business world.
Moreover, they give them the priority to increase their skills and activate their role in the
investment the vision enables Saudi woman it has the opportunity contribution to the development
of society and economy. The women in all the sectors they have success. It is a part of the society.
Saudi Arabia at a historical turning point. The Saudi agency is facilitating to make all the process
easy and achievable.
