3. Step 1: clean up the edges
Remove the screw and other obstructions before sanding the
block.
Step 2: iron on the edge banding
Ironing down the edge banding to bond it to the plywood will make
the plywood sit firmly.
4. Changes through the Years
Step 3: press it while it is hot
Use a wooden block to press the hot veneer so that the glue bonds
tightly. Heat those spots again and again.
Step 4: slice off the ends
Place the end against a solid surface and then cut off the ends carefully.
Be gentle while doing this step.

Step 5: use a trimmer on the edges
This is the quickest and the easiest way to trim
the edge. Make use of a special edge banding tool
Step 6: modify your trimmer
Veneer shims make the first trimmer pass less likely to mar and bend
the edges of the banding.

Step 7: do not leave a splice where
it will show
Put splices in less visibility spots.
Step 8: touch up with a sanding
block
Sand edges with 150 grit paper.
