This document provides guidance on writing a letter to the Bishop as part of the confirmation process. The letter should express the desire to be confirmed and give the Bishop insight into the confirmation candidate's faith journey. It should include a salutation to Bishop Ricken, the reason for wanting confirmation, the confirmation name and why it was chosen, and a request to receive the sacrament. Other recommended items to discuss are something learned in confirmation classes, how faith has impacted life, why the Catholic Church is important, and who the sponsor is and why they were chosen. The letter should be 1-2 pages single-spaced and due by April 8th.
