No liquid delivery possible causes: • Instrument error and it need to be checked. • The pump is not primed properly. • Could be due to cavitation and we need to check the operation parameters and pump internals. • Could be due supply tank is empty and we need to check the level before operating the pump. 2. Liquid low flow possible causes: • Instrument error and it need to be checked. • Could be due to cavitation and we need to check the operation parameters and pump internals. • Could be due to presence of non condesibles (air or other gases). • Could be due to blockage of suction strainer. 3 Intermittent operation Discharge pressure high possible causes: • Could be due to cavitation and we need to check the operation parameters and pump internals. • The pump is not primed properly. • Could be due to presence of non condesibles (air or other gases). 4 Discharge pressure low possible causes: • Instrument error • Could be due to presence of non condesibles (air or other gases). • The pump speed is low (check the variable speed drive control) • Wrong direction of the installed impeller. 5 Excessive power demand possible causes: • The pump speed is too high (check the variable speed drive control) • High liquid density due to change in temperature conditions or contamination. • Change in system head due to modifications. • High viscosity due to change in temperature.
