HOW TO SETUP &
RECORD AN INTERVIEW.

STEP 1 – PRE-PRODUCTION
 Make a schedule for how the interview is structured.
 Find an Anchor host ( if there is more than one)
 Brief and introduce the interviewee before the shoot.
 Decide how want to personalize the location to the context of the
interview.
STEP 2 – PRE-PRODUCTION
 Plan who is filming and what equipment is needed (tripod, drone,
camera, microphone etc..)
 Have a solid lighting source that suits the set.
STEP 3 - CAMERA
 Ensure you have essential shots; Wide shot and a close up shot for
interview and host/s.
 Ensure all shots are in the right frame capturing the people as the
main subject.
 Ensure all camera are in clear focus.
STEP 4 - CAMERA
 Ensure there are spare batteries and memory cards at the ready.
STEP 5 – POST-PRODUCTION
 Have someone designated to collect and organize all memory
cards from cameras into labeled folders.
 Everything should be now organized for the editor to edit straight
away; from all individual shots and angles.
