To set up and record an interview, there are five key steps: 1) In pre-production, schedule the interview structure, find an anchor host if needed, and brief the interviewee. 2) Also in pre-production, plan equipment like cameras and microphones needed and ensure proper lighting. 3) For camera shots, get a wide and close-up shot of the interviewee and host, frame them as the main subject, and keep the camera in clear focus. 4) Be sure to have spare batteries and memory cards ready. 5) In post-production, have someone collect and organize memory cards into labeled folders for the editor to immediately start editing individual shots and angles.
