During this time even the smallest changes in our daily routine can be just the ticket to put yourself in a better flow state and unload your overwhelm. Check out my top 10 tips for remaining productive while working from home.
1. How to remain
productive

daily routine can be just the ticket to put yourself
in a better flow state and unload your overwhelm.
2. #1
Write your to-do list the night before. Set your day
up for success and identify your top 3
priorities/tasks you need to accomplish. Try and
get at least one task completed.
3. #2
Clean your workstation the night before, make sure
you are coming into "work" to a clean environment.
Physical clutter leads to mental clutter.
4. #3
Make your bed, I can't stress this enough.
"If you want to change the world, start off by
making your bed."
- Admiral William H. McRaven
5. #4
Get showered, dressed and ready as if you are going
out. Create a sense of normality and make yourself
feel productive. When you remain in pyjamas you're
going to feel lethargic, so do your hair properly, put
on makeup if you wish and dress for success.
Even if it's tshirt and jeans, leave your sweatpants
and hoodie for later.
6. #5
Create a routine, develop a schedule that you stick
to. This doesn't have to be a complete timetable
but allocate specific times for certain tasks or
create non-negotiables that you fit into your day. I
allocate two hours of a morning to smash out my
main priorities and I have a non-negotiable that I
read at least one chapter per day of a book.
7. #6
Don't overconsume social media, be intentional
with your screen time. There's no easier way of
draining your energy and productivity then going
down a deep social media hole.
8. #7
Take regular breaks, move your body and put fuel in
the tank. Every half an hour or hour make sure to
get up, stretch, grab a coffee, whatever it is you
need to take a break. Make sure you're also taking
regular morning tea and lunch breaks, running on
empty isn't going to get you anywhere, so make
sure you continue to fuel your body properly.
9. #8
Set boundaries as best you can. Have open
conversations about what you expect and how you
can navigate your working day into someone else's.
Put signs up on the door if you need to have
uninterrupted time. Have a dedicated workspace and
have a dedicated "clock off" time.
This will be different for everyone.
10. #9
Turn distractions off, turn flight mode on, log out
of Netflix, create a space where you can get your
focus time in without constantly working in
fractured time.
11. #10
Be flexible and be kind to yourself. It's okay to give
yourself this time to digest and hit pause.
