PROJECTS USING
ASANA.

2. 1. Open your browser/ Google and
go to https://asana.com.

3. 2. Create an account by signing up.

4. 3. Have a google account? just click
“sign in google button”.

6. I. CREATING A
PROJECT

7. How to make a project?

8. 1. Click “projects (+)” button in the
sidebar.

9. 2. Or Click the “orange (+) button”
in the top bar.

10. 3. Or use the project field in the
right pane.

11. Fill the fields for:

12. 1. Project Name- give a name to
your project.

13. 2. Create in- select the team you
want to work with.

14. 3. Layout- Decide if you want a
“list” or “board”.

15. a. For list, type a colon at the end of a
task name or click “add section”.

16. b. For board, just click “add
column”.

17. 4. Project’s privacy- set as a public
or private.

18. 5. Add a description. (give the details,
instructions or context of task)

19. 6. Click the Create the project
button.

20. Once you have done, you need to
add tasks in your project.

21. 1. Click “Add Task” button in List
View to add tasks on your project.

22. 2. Or click the “orange (+) button”
in the top bar.

23. 3. Or from your “My Tasks” list.

24. 4. Or by just pressing enter on your
keyboard.

25. NOTE: Mark your task as “Today”,
“Upcoming” or “Later”.

26. TIP 1: Ideally you should only have
3-5 tasks mark as ‘Today’.

27. TIP 2: Make sure to reprioritize at
the start of each day.

28. TIP 3: Check your Upcoming tasks
and be ready for it.

29. TIP 4: Try to only keep up to 10
tasks in your New Tasks section.

30. TIP 5: Click the checkmark next to the
task name, when it is completed.

31. Choose if you want to keep it
active, archive or delete it.

32. Asana recommends to archive it so
you still have reference.

33. TIP 6: Add a due date to finish the
task.

34. And you can also choose the start
date.

35. II. ORGANIZING
A PROJECT

36. Want to track your work perfectly
from the start?

37. LET’S USE TEMPLATE!

38. Click the “orange (+) button” in the top
bar again and select PROJECT.

39. 1. Click the “Templates” tab in the
new project screen.

40. 2. Select and Click “Use Template”
to create a project.

41. 3. Or “Preview” the template.

42. Pick from 8 different templates and
Click “Create Project” when you’re
finished.

43. Lots of tasks to do? Why not
assign to other people?

44. How? By inviting members.

45. 1. Click the “(+) button” under the
team’s name in the sidebar.

46. 2. Or click the “orange (+) button”
in the top bar and select “Invite”.

47. 3. Or click the “Team Conversations”
from the sidebar and click “(+) button”.

48. 4. Or enter the person’s name or
email address.

49. 4. Click the “Add” button.

50. TIP: You can add followers too. (for
them to see the flow of your task)

51. What if you found out that
member is not compatible?

52. Or he/ she does not want to
work anymore?

53. Or for any other reasons.

54. Not A Problem, You Can Remove
Him/ Her.

55. 1. Click the “(+) button” on the
project header.

56. 2. Select “Member Notification
Settings”.

57. 3. And click the “remove button”.

58. TIP: You can remove your followers
at any time too.

59. TIP: Set the project as “Comment
Only”. (if you don’t want project
members to modify the project)

60. NO WORRIES!

61. Want to move your previous
tasks into your new project?

62. 1. Just drag or drop it.

63. 2. Or by adding a project to a task.

64. How about UPDATE your
project?

65. 1. Navigate to the “Progress” view.

66. 2. Select a colour of your status
update.

67. Select “Green” to indicate the
project is on track.

68. Select “Yellow” to indicate the
project is on progress but at risk.

69. Select “Red” to indicate the project
is not on track.

70. 3. Enter a narrative for a status
update.

71. 4. Click the “Set Status” button.

72. TIP: Project status updates support
rich text and emojis .

73. Want to view a full history of
all project updates?

74. 1. Navigate to the “Progress” View.

75. 2. Select “View previous updates”.

76. How to delete your status
update?

77. 1. Click the “dropdown arrow”
beside the status update.

78. 2. Click “Delete Conversation”.

79. Want to omit the Section
and its tasks from your
project’s progress chart?

80. 1. Navigate to the “Progress” view.

81. 2. Select the gear icon.

82. 3. Uncheck the corresponding
section in the dropdown menu.
