It is narrated from an-Nu‘maan ibn Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Du‘aa’ is worship.” Then he recited the verse (interpretation of the meaning): “And your Lord says, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’

2. PROPHET MUHAMMED ( PEACE AND BLESSINGS
BE UPON HIM) SAID:
“WHEN ONE OF YOU MAKES DUA, LET HIM/HER
BEGIN BY;
* PRAISING HIS LORD, ALLAH(SWT).
* THEN SEND BLESSINGS ON PROPHET(SAW).
* THEN PRAY AND ASK FOR WHATEVER HE
WANTS FROM ALLAH(SWT).”

3. PRAISING ALLAH (SWT)
‘The best and most beneficial dhikr is
when one remembers Allah with the
tongue and the heart, it is from the
Sunnah adhkar, and one is conscious of
its meaning and its purpose.’ (Ibn
Qayyim al-Jawziyyah)
4. Praise Him as our beloved
Messenger ﷺpraised Him. Of
Allah’s creation, none
surpassed him in knowing
Him and appreciating Him as
He ought to be.
HOW TO PRAISE
ALLAH
SUBHANAWATA’ALA
We praise Him as He has
praised Himself. This is the
best way to praise Allah. This
can be done by reciting the
Qur’an, reflecting upon it and
forming a bond with it, since it
is replete with the Allah
praising Himself .
5. The Mother of the Believers, Juwairiyah
bint Al-Harith reported:
the Prophet came out from my apartment in the
morning as I was busy in performing the dawn
prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found
me sitting there. The Prophet said,” Are you still
in the same position as I left you.” I replied in
the affirmative. Thereupon the Prophet said, “I
recited four phrases three times after I had left
you. If these are to be weighed against all you
have recited since morning, these will be heavier.
These are:
6. •SUBHAN-ALLAH WA BIHAMDIHI,
•‘ADADA KHALQIHI,
•WA RIDA-A NAFSIHI,
•WA ZINATAH ‘ARSHIHI,
•WA MIDADA KALIMATIHI

[ALLAH IS FREE FROM IMPERFECTION
AND I BEGIN WITH HIS PRAISE, AS MANY
TIMES AS THE NUMBER OF HIS
CREATURES, IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS
GOOD PLEASURE, EQUAL TO THE WEIGHT
OF HIS THRONE AND EQUAL TO THE INK
THAT MAY BE USED IN RECORDING THE
WORDS (FOR HIS PRAISE)]
10. Sending blessings upon Prophet
Muhammed (SAW)
We can send blessing upon our beloved Prophet
(SAW) by reciting any durood like Durood-e-
ibrahim, Durood-e-dawami etc by any number of
times.
Durood-e-Dawaami:
ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA SAYYIDINA MUHAMMADIW
WA ALA AALI SAYYIDINA MUHAMMADIN ADADA MA
FI ILMIL LAAHI SALAWAATAN DAA’IMATAN
BIDAWAAMI MULKILLAH.
Durood-e-Quraani:
ALLAHUMMA SALLI WASALLIM ALA SAYYIDINA
MUHAMMADIW WA ALA AALI WA ASHABI BI ADADA
MA FI JAMI’IL QURAANI HARFAN HARFAN WABI
ADADI KULLI HARFIN ALFAN ALFAN.
