— Complex
— Slow
— Permissions issues
— Devdocs reads like a "Choose Your Own Adventure"
story with multiple forks in the road for various
installation procedures.
Except in this story the Nightmare Elf always gets you in the end and his name is Anton and
he's the lead architect of Magento 2.

6. Github Checkout
— Basically like Composer
— Only with more self-loathing because you are too old
for this !
— You can really screw stuff up (don't git pull
whatever you do, for ✞ sake)

7. Signal Fires !
— Easier than the previous two methods
— Long and tedious, lots of upper body strength
— Requires lots of blankets and a lot of firewood
— Firewood can be wet in South Florida - account for
wood drying time in project budget

8. Magnetized Needle on a Hard Drive Platter
— Easier than a signal fire because it requires less wood
— But not zero wood. Make sure to stock up on at
least a little bit of wood.
— Requires knowledge of magnets
— Insane Clown Possee "Juggalo" outfit not required,
but highly recommended

9. WinRAR span archive with 200k floppy disks !
— The shortest install time of any of the prior options,
mostly due to the speed of transferring the physical
media via ISAPI interface and 400-baud modem
— Requires a large footprint for storage of 300+ floppy
disks

10. Archive / Zip file download
— Seriously this is the only way you should be
installing Magento
— Familiarity from M1 to M2
— Dependencies are already met
— No "accidental" installation from develop channel
— Permissions are retained from the user unpacking
the Zip so no potential Composer permissions
mismatch
