This document discusses diabetes, pre-diabetes, and the two main types of diabetes. It explains that pre-diabetes occurs when blood sugar levels are higher than normal but not high enough to be considered diabetes. Those with pre-diabetes have a higher risk of developing full diabetes if not properly managed. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the immune system attacks insulin-producing cells, so not enough insulin is produced. Type 2 diabetes is more common and occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin or the cells do not respond properly to insulin. Magnesium deficiency has been linked to both types of diabetes.
