7-Class,
When interviewing for a new job, how might you go about discovering how the job characteristic dimensions are ranked for that position (i.e., high autonomy and low skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy, and feedback),)? In general, do all positions for a given organization generally have the same weighting across the organization? Why or why not?
8-Class,
Looking at the five elements of well-being (Positive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Achievement--PERMA) how do these elements shape organizational climate? Which of these do you think can have the greatest benefit or do the most harm to the culture or an organization?

PLEASE REWORD THESE PARAGRAPHS IN YOUR OWN WORDS. DO NOT COPY THE SAME WORDS AS THEY ARE IN EACH PARAGRAPH. THANK YOU!
1- In my job, it takes both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation to motivate employees. Extrinsic motivators such as a year-end bonus or a merit pay increase motivate employees to continue to work hard so they can keep enjoying these results. The problem is that when you only recognize employees once or twice a year, the job they felt from an extrinsic motivator will wear off and they also need intrinsic motivation to maintain that motivation. When your boss recognizes the good work you are doing either by mentioning it to others or saying "thank you" can go a long way in motivating employees to continu.

These are just notes from this module below:
My team that I would like for you to write about is called the Spiritual Bowlers. It's a bowling League that I'm a part of with my church. We call ourselves the Spiritual Bowlers because we not only have a good time doing something that we love to do we add the book of the word in our game playing. We have a group of 8 team members 4 women and 4 men. We came up with this group a being part of the leadership at our church. I am the leader of the group. I thought about forming this group as a way to interact with my church congregation to have fun and also have this opportunity to spread the word to others while doing it. The way I picked the team of members was to post a bulletin at church welcoming any members that love the game of bowling and also need a spiritual healing outside of church. The expectations I have of this group is that we have set days that we have practice and I require that they be prompt and present. Other teams that we bowl against are pretty good so therefore we all need to be in attendance so that we can practice and get better with our game and techniques. In our weekly practice meetings we do and hour of practice and also take an hour of prayer and bible study. We communicate as a church family and speak about things in our personal lives that we may need a word of healing about. We just be there for one another not only as church members but as a team also in a sport we love. We talk openly about what we need to work on as a team to become better bowlers and also as better spiritual leaders and spreading the good word of the bible to people who wants to hear the word. We as a team all give ideas and make the decisions on who will be our captain for the week and also who will give the Word and what lessons from the bible would be spoken on. It gives us all a opportunity to hear and learn from one another.
So basically can you make that info into a presentation or whatever the assignment is asking for, You can make it sound better and just make up stuff to go with it lol. I really appreciate you and email me on both emails if you need any other information.
NOTES:
For years, companies have been transitioning into a more team oriented environment. Most of us have experienced the positives and negatives of working with other people. For this class, it's important that we look at how a team is designed and led in order to evaluate its' success. Managers have an active hand in creating and designing a team. This sets the company up to succeed or fail.
1. Diversity
Variety in background, knowledge, and skill set can be invaluable to teams. Diversity allows a team to approach problems from multiple angles. Having members that are all very similar may limit the team's ability to innovate and problem solve. Managers must carefully consider employee diversity when selecting members for a team. A more diversified team will generally produce better work and be better able to ...

How you can build a successful team-
1. How you can build
a successful team-

2. 1.Recruit the right person for the right position
Team building starts with selecting and recruiting the right
person for the right position. During the selection procedure
find out their attitude, skills, interest and experience as they
fit to the predefined position. Assign jobs as per their
competencies and interest, they will feel contented and will
work enthusiastically. If you assign jobs which they don’t love
or don’t match to their skill level then they will feel
uncomfortable and there is a chance to leave their
employment.
3. 2.Set a clear target for your team
In a team, a group of people work together to achieve a
common goal. So you should set a clear and challenging goal
for your team. If you just ask them to follow it will not work
over there. You should communicate that goal in such a way
that it becomes the common goal of the whole team Every
team members of your team should know what they are going
to achieve, why they should do it and how they will do it. It
will inspire them to put their best effort to reach their
destination.
.
4. 3.Clearly define their job responsibilities
For smooth functioning of your team every tasks should be
distributed properly among your team members as per their
competencies. If it is not done properly many tasks will be left
undone. So define individual’s job responsibility clearly as they
know their roles in the team and what should they do to
achieve team target. This will give them the freedom to work
independently. It will also help you to monitor individual
participation and progress to keep the team on track.
5. 4. Take initiative to improve capabilities of your team
members
After recruitment your first job is to develop your team
members as they can do their job independently. You should
identify the development areas of your team members for the
job they are assigned. You can arrange formal training sessions
to develop their technical knowledge and skills level as they
can smoothly operate their daily tasks. You should also do on
the job training, regular coaching and counselling to change
their perception, attitude and motivation level.
6. 5.Create a congenial working environment
Build a friendly working environment as employees enjoy their
work. A stress free condition will increase their productivity.
Be open to accept any suggestion and complaint from your
team members. Show genuine interest to solve their
problems. Give due appreciation to the achievers. Be fair in
giving appraisal. Help your employees whenever they face any
difficulties. Ensure freedom of work. Don’t allow conspiracy in
the team. These will help you to create a healthy environment
in the team.
7. 6.Resolve conflict effectively
When a group of people work together; chance of arising
conflict is not unlikely. Besides, a certain degree of conflict in
the team increases productivity. But if it exceeds the limit it
may destroy the whole team. So it should be handled
immediately. Don’t give temporary solution, identify the root
cause of conflict and resolve it. If conflict persists for longer
period of time it destroy the team spirit and employee’s moral
to fight together.
8. 7.Encourage social get together
In the office people have to maintain certain formalities, so it
is very difficult for them to maintain relationship at personal
level. Inspires them to get together outside your office, this
will give them the opportunity to meet others in a free
environment. It gives relives from routine office life for a
certain period of time. When people know each other in
personal level, they feel comfortable to work together. It also
create a sense of security and helps to decreases the rate of
employee turnover. It help to improve interpersonal
relationship among team members.
9. 8.Celebrate success
Celebrating your success means you are recognizing your team
members for their achievement. It will rejuvenate the whole
team and will motive your team members to achieve another
milestones. It will help you bring the whole team together to
move forward. Ensure that every member can participate in
the celebration; they will feel important being part of it. It will
also assist you to build more personal connection with your
team members.
10. 9.Don’t allow poor performers to stay in the team
It is not possible to get equal contribution from all team
members but everybody should maintain at least an
acceptable range. I saw in many cases some employees
performs below average month after month but management
doesn’t take any action against them. They pull down the
whole team. You have to identify the causes of their poor
performance and you should offer all sorts of assistance as
they can perform in the team. If they don’t come up within
the given period, simply fire them form your team otherwise
your whole team will be destroyed.
11. 10.Retain Good Employees
Frequent employee departure weakens the team spirit and it
is sign of employee dissatisfaction. Good employees are asset
for any team so take a special care and take necessary steps to
retain them. Find out the root cause of employee turnover.
The main reasons for employee turnover is poor relationship
with immediate superior, excessive work load, nepotism ,
inflexible office time, lack of recognition, lack of respect ,
inappropriate appraisal etc. You should take all necessary
steps to retain your good employees because they are the
heart of your team.
12. 11.Be aware of team destroyers
You may find some people who always look for negative things
and spread negative news among team members and pollute
working environment. They find nothing positive in the team,
they see difficulties in every situation. Their pessimistic attitude
can destroy the whole team. Don’t hesitate to confront them
and ask them to change their behavior immediately.
13. Finally win the game
