2. First you have to put your fractions beside each other Lets use the example of ¾ + 2/3

3. To do this, you have to list all the multiples of your denominators, in this case being 4 and 3. Next, you have to find the lowest common multiple of your two denominators.

4. Next, make a line, putting the LCM under it, making it the denominator.

5. Multiply your numerator by the number you multiplied the denominator of each fraction.

6. Add the two new numerators

10. Congrats-You have found your answer Oh no! Your answer is an improper fraction. You have to change it into a mixed fraction. Fortunately, this is simple.

11. All you have to do is see how many times your denominator goes into your numerator 17 goes into 12 once, so the whole number is 1. The numerator, is the amount left over, which is 5.
