Alliance Data Systems (ADS) is a leading global provider of data-driven
marketing and loyalty solutions serving large, consumer-based industries.
ADS consists of three distinct business units: Alliance Data Retail Services,
Epsilon, and Loyalty One.

As a result of business growth, ADS required migration to a new data center
provider, including a new Disaster Recovery (DR) facility.
CER was one of the applications to be migrated. A result of organic growth, the
CER application provided unique challenges to the migration team. A significant issue was the
lack of pre-built documentation. ADS initially tried using the Test-to-Production (T2P) migration
facility, but it proved inadequate to support an integrated SOA, BPM, and WebCenter project.
Another complicating factor was that the source environment was not fully
High Availability (HA)-enabled or architected for Disaster Recovery (DR).

SuneraTech has facilitated the datacenter migration and incorporated true High
Availability, and Disaster Recovery functionality. The new environment infrastructure
was redesigned/updated as follows:
• Implemented shared storage to provide redundant file system volumes,
shared-volumes, and mount points.
• Enabled file system replication services between primary and DR sites.
• Data Guard to synchronize run time data from primary database or DR
database
• Implemented virtual hosts to dynamically route services between nodes or
the DR site, if required.
• Defined, implemented, and documented a repeatable installation and configuration
process for the Oracle Fusion Middleware infrastructure, and CER
application, including support for in-flight data migration.
