It scans fingerprints using light reflection or voltage reading to recognize fingerprint patterns. While fingerprints are very useful for identification as they cannot be forgotten or lost like passwords, the system is not perfect and may sometimes struggle to distinguish between fingerprints or be fooled by cutting and using someone else's finger.
