Actionable support for finding a 1st or 2nd role in data analytics, data science, data engineering, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing.
To start a data career, you need to achieve two things.
1. Get invited by companies to an interview regularly.
2,. Get through the interview process and secure an offer - better two offers to have some bargaining power.
For you, I am bundling AI Guild insights to help you reduce your search time by half and cost by as much as 90%.

“No matter who you are, self-improvement is one of
the most important and most overlooked attributes
of young AI talent. It only takes four years of
experience to become a senior, or five years of
experience to lead. The determination and
discipline to improve both the hard and soft skills
continually will be the deciding factor.”

11. Your
challenges
1. Job seekers struggle to frame their skillset.
2. You have little or no relevant industry or
domain experience.
3. Companies sometimes prefer upskilling
current employees.
4. Employers are not (yet) very good at hiring
matching talent.
12. Watch out for career transition costs
A mismatch with your next role
and too low or missed income
may cost you €10,0000 or more.
Your search time, possible
unemployment, and getting the
offer on the table may be too
long.
Upskilling with online courses,
bootcamps, and university
courses (+ living expenses) may
be up to €20,000.
Opportunity Personal Out-of-pocket
13. Three critical questions for you…
Which data role is your
best choice?
At what type of
company do you want
to work?
Which domain or
industry is yours?
14. Your
strategy
1. Use online information and events, e.g., at
datacareer.eu
2. Discuss your strategy with friends, colleagues.
Perhaps also with fellow practitioners in the AI
Guild.
3. Use the AI Guild to validate your CV and
search strategy.
15. Which data role is your
best choice?
What company type do
you want to work in?
Which domain or
industry is yours?

The Validated CV
17. Your
savings
1. If you come to the AI Guild first, then you
reduce your search time by half or more.
2. If you do the validated CV first, you reduce
your out-of-pocket expenses and opportunity
costs by 90% or more.
• Avoid unemployment.
• Do online certificates only if technical upskilling is
essential.
• Avoid an expensive career transition with teaching
unless you have a return on investment.
18. Four elements of the Validated CV
Get considered by
highlighting your
technical skills
Be invited for
interview by
demonstrating your
business skills
Lead on the
interview by

26. Data project
pyDentate – A neuronal network model.
Unlike artificial neural networks, biological neural
networks process information by transmitting binary
signals called action potentials. pyDentate is a
computational network model that simulates action
potentials in a complex network architecture featuring
feedforward and feedback inhibition.
It models a brain area called the dentate gyrus, and we
used it to study network mechanisms of memory and
spatial navigation. Other neuroscientists now use it to
study the same brain area.
