PROJECTS EFFECTIVELY?

INTRODUCTION
 For an ever-changing and advancing world that
constantly seems to be moving ahead while leaving
the environment behind, the phrase “The new age
is pursuing green architecture” seems suitable.
While numerous causes contribute to climate
change, buildings are a major contributor.
 Research shows that buildings and
construction account for 36% of global energy
consumption and 27% of the global carbon
footprint. Thus, green construction is a response to
this coming threat.

INTRODUCTION
 Major contributors to global warming include urban
heat islands in rapidly expanding cities, industrial
pollution, and carbon emissions from buildings. To
that end, green buildings have a notably less
environmental footprint.
 According to a leading report, green buildings have
the potential to reduce energy consumption by
50%. On the other hand, Micro-level energy
savings for buildings have been validated by the
IGBC and LEED at 40-50 percent and 20-30
percent, respectively.

The Concept
REUSABLE AND LOCAL MATERIALS
 Green buildings are those that make creative
use/reuse of previously used materials, minimize
the use of resources that have a direct impact on
the environment, and recycle the remnants of
previously constructed structures.
THE BUILDING FACTORS
 Green buildings can be made with the help of
materials, tools, and methods that minimize the
need for large amounts of electricity and resources.
Also, in order to lessen their global environmental
impact, green buildings should be assembled on-
site instead of in a factory.

BETTER ENERGY EFFICIENCY
 The installation of green-rated appliances, which
use less energy and load, reduces the need for
HVAC and electrical energy overall. Sustainable
architecture also makes use of alternative energy
sources like solar panels.
OPTIMAL WATER MANAGEMENT
 Water treatment and Rainwater harvesting solutions
that recycle water for use in green buildings are
prime examples. They would also leverage water-
saving appliances to control consumption levels.
AN ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY DESIGN
 Green buildings use indoor and outdoor plants to
provide healthy, comfortable environments for those
who work or visit there. Plants and trees on the
property not only reduce CO2 levels but also
guarantee a constant supply of pure air.
FACADE DESIGNS THAT ARE SMART!
 Facades can modulate the impact of the exterior
environment, allowing for more effective energy use
inside. Louvres, smart facades, and other similar
features can have a significant effect on a building’s
energy consumption. Building information modelling
(BIM) is a useful technology for designing
sustainable buildings.
BIM MODELING AND GREEN
ARCHITECTURE – THE CONCEPT
 Reduced energy use and the building’s
environmental footprint are two of the many
benefits that can be realised via the application of
Building Information Modelling (BIM).
 A building can be certified as a “Green Building” by
employing BIM’s specific processes and modelling
advice.
 The building industries of several developed
countries, including the United Kingdom, the United
States, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and
others have adopted BIM. Certified green building
programmes, such as LEED, are usually leveraged
to notify a building as being “Green”.
 The Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) rating system is used to certify the
efficiency, cost-effectiveness, environmental
friendliness, and construction quality of buildings of
all types.
 The existence of such a group lends credence to
the claims made about the environmental benefits
of green buildings, hence encouraging the
construction of even more such structures in the
years to come.
 Building Information Modeling tools & solutions
have become a game-changer in the construction
industry due to their versatility and usefulness.
 BIM is commonly leveraged in 4 aspects during a
construction project i.e., for Land, Energy, Materials and
Water:
 Land – With the help of BIM, stakeholders can
seamlessly regulate and simulate site processes as well
as the progress of a construction project.
 Water – BIM helps stakeholders to optimize the design of
water supply, planning and drainage. In addition to that,
BIM also helps minimize inefficient use of water.
 Energy – BIM enables stakeholders to create strategies
and plans that effectively/optimally control energy
consumption within the building and analyses deficits.
 Material – BIM also helps stakeholders to create plans
and strategies that optimize the consumption of
construction materials in each phase of the project.

SUSTAINABILITY?
 Efficient off-site and on-site designing
 Better clarity and transparency of the construction
project at every phase
 Save more money, resources, and time which in
turn helps projects to become more sustainable!
 Effectively monitor the performance of a building
before and after occupancy
 BIM also helps stakeholders to create efficient
systems that optimize building performance
 Due to BIM’s comprehensive working, you can
seamlessly improve and optimize design features
THE FUTURE OF AEC INDUSTRY AND
SUSTAINABILITY
 Software like BIM has vast potential in the fields of
environmental design and future architecture for the
generations to come.
 Building information modeling (BIM) is merely a
forerunner to the truly revolutionary developments
in construction that lie ahead, such as 3D-printed
homes and other novel approaches. So, it’s safe to
say that the future of the AEC industry and
sustainability is in safe hands, thanks to BIM!


INTRODUCTION  For an ever-changing and advancing world that constantly seems to be moving ahead while leaving the environment behind, the phrase “The new age is pursuing green architecture” seems suitable. While numerous causes contribute to climate change, buildings are a major contributor.  Research shows that buildings and construction account for 36% of global energy consumption and 27% of the global carbon footprint. Thus, green construction is a response to this coming threat. 
  • 4. INTRODUCTION  Major contributors to global warming include urban heat islands in rapidly expanding cities, industrial pollution, and carbon emissions from buildings. To that end, green buildings have a notably less environmental footprint.  According to a leading report, green buildings have the potential to reduce energy consumption by 50%. On the other hand, Micro-level energy savings for buildings have been validated by the IGBC and LEED at 40-50 percent and 20-30 percent, respectively.

  • 6. REUSABLE AND LOCAL MATERIALS  Green buildings are those that make creative use/reuse of previously used materials, minimize the use of resources that have a direct impact on the environment, and recycle the remnants of previously constructed structures.
  • 7. THE BUILDING FACTORS  Green buildings can be made with the help of materials, tools, and methods that minimize the need for large amounts of electricity and resources. Also, in order to lessen their global environmental impact, green buildings should be assembled on- site instead of in a factory. 
  • 8. BETTER ENERGY EFFICIENCY  The installation of green-rated appliances, which use less energy and load, reduces the need for HVAC and electrical energy overall. Sustainable architecture also makes use of alternative energy sources like solar panels.
  • 9. OPTIMAL WATER MANAGEMENT  Water treatment and Rainwater harvesting solutions that recycle water for use in green buildings are prime examples. They would also leverage water- saving appliances to control consumption levels.
  • 10. AN ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY DESIGN  Green buildings use indoor and outdoor plants to provide healthy, comfortable environments for those who work or visit there. Plants and trees on the property not only reduce CO2 levels but also guarantee a constant supply of pure air.
  • 11. FACADE DESIGNS THAT ARE SMART!  Facades can modulate the impact of the exterior environment, allowing for more effective energy use inside. Louvres, smart facades, and other similar features can have a significant effect on a building’s energy consumption. Building information modelling (BIM) is a useful technology for designing sustainable buildings.

BIM MODELING AND GREEN ARCHITECTURE – THE CONCEPT  Reduced energy use and the building’s environmental footprint are two of the many benefits that can be realised via the application of Building Information Modelling (BIM).  A building can be certified as a “Green Building” by employing BIM’s specific processes and modelling advice.  The building industries of several developed countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and others have adopted BIM. Certified green building programmes, such as LEED, are usually leveraged to notify a building as being “Green”.
  • 13.  The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system is used to certify the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, environmental friendliness, and construction quality of buildings of all types.  The existence of such a group lends credence to the claims made about the environmental benefits of green buildings, hence encouraging the construction of even more such structures in the years to come.  Building Information Modeling tools & solutions have become a game-changer in the construction industry due to their versatility and usefulness.
  • 14.  BIM is commonly leveraged in 4 aspects during a construction project i.e., for Land, Energy, Materials and Water:  Land – With the help of BIM, stakeholders can seamlessly regulate and simulate site processes as well as the progress of a construction project.  Water – BIM helps stakeholders to optimize the design of water supply, planning and drainage. In addition to that, BIM also helps minimize inefficient use of water.  Energy – BIM enables stakeholders to create strategies and plans that effectively/optimally control energy consumption within the building and analyses deficits.  Material – BIM also helps stakeholders to create plans and strategies that optimize the consumption of construction materials in each phase of the project.
  • 15. WHY IS BIM MODELING RELEVANT TO SUSTAINABILITY?  Efficient off-site and on-site designing  Better clarity and transparency of the construction project at every phase  Save more money, resources, and time which in turn helps projects to become more sustainable!  Effectively monitor the performance of a building before and after occupancy  BIM also helps stakeholders to create efficient systems that optimize building performance  Due to BIM’s comprehensive working, you can seamlessly improve and optimize design features
  • 16. THE FUTURE OF AEC INDUSTRY AND SUSTAINABILITY  Software like BIM has vast potential in the fields of environmental design and future architecture for the generations to come.  Building information modeling (BIM) is merely a forerunner to the truly revolutionary developments in construction that lie ahead, such as 3D-printed homes and other novel approaches. So, it’s safe to say that the future of the AEC industry and sustainability is in safe hands, thanks to BIM! 
