Setiu is a district in Terengganu, Malaysia with a population of around 55,517. It is named after a Bugis warrior named Tok Setiu who fled to Terengganu after losing a war with the Dutch. Setiu Wetlands covering 23,000 hectares is the largest natural wetlands in Peninsular Malaysia, combining freshwater, seawater, and brackish water ecosystems. Keropok lekor, a popular snack made from fish and flour, and seafood dishes like celup tepung are famous products from Setiu.
