- #7 Core Message: Just last year, VMware announced the launch of Horizon 6 with RDS and full support for remoted applications. This release supported end users with seamless access to all of their virtual desktops and applications—including RDS hosted apps, packaged apps with ThinApp, SaaS apps, and even virtualized apps from Citrix—through a single unified workspace. Well--things just got better. VMware is weaving in 6 key new enhancements to Horizon 6 that will help you deliver unlimited access to desktops and applications at lower costs with better performance (think 3D performance) and at unprecedented scale. Extend the power of virtualization from the datacenter to devices with the best of Horizon 6. Take a tour of what’s new….. Unlimited access by closing the gaps in RDSH App functionality such as introducing client drives? Linux desktop support UEM formerly Immidio for simple and scalable user environment management with profiles and dynamic policies Horizon App Mgmt Bundle to transform app and user mgmt for Citrix env.

- #9 We announced an early access program to HTML for apps as well as the Google Chrombook clcient. We also announced early access to client drive redirection, allowing end users to map their local, external and network drives to their virtual desktop. Well now these capabilities are fully supported. Vmwaree introduced support for published apps back in April 2014—and yyou can see just how quickly we have added new functionality in support of session based desktops and hosted apps. And there is definitely more to come. - #10 In Q1 we announced an early access program for Linux—well we are happy today to announce full support for Linux desktops. We have had numerous requests to support Linux desktops for developers, students and federal government workers. Linux desktops provide end users with all the benefits of a virtualized desktop—data security, with easy, mobile access and ensure that IT can centrally set policy and manage users to drive down costs.
- #11 Our customers are always looking for ways to better manage their user environment. IT is looking to simplify profile management and easy to apply policies…End Users are looking for a consistent experience… and Business Owners are looking to lower management costs and adopt to business needs. We’ve provided a solution in which IT can manage user settings, personalization, and policy. This extends through virtual, physical, and cloud and across many devices and locations.

- #13 User’s laptop only sees the printer on floor 1 She goes to floor 2, badges in, and since her subnet is now one that belongs in the dynamic policy based on triggers, she only sees printer 2.
- #14 User opens up app with predefined settings already configured. This means fast app access, rollback to predefined settings allowed, and consistency across devices.
- #15 User changes settings on app that causes the app to behave poorly or IT wants the app always configured a certain way. IT can easily revert the app settings back to previous state
- #16 VMware UEM is enterprise proven as scale can go from supporting 100s of users, to 10s of thousands. We even have customers above 100,000 users that they’re supporting. And, customers can leverage existing infrastructure so no need for massive backend requirements.
- #17 Workspace Environment Mgmt is an end to end approach for app delivery and isolation, coupled with managing users using policies, and performance monitoring across virtual, physical, and cloud-hosted environments. It is something that all Horizon customers can enjoy in our Enterprise bundle., We are excited to announce that we will also be delivering WEM to Citrix customers who use XenApp or XenDesktop with our Horizon App Mgmt Bundle. This helps optimize app and user management for Citrix customers.
- #18 Here is the bundle we are bringing to market this quarter. This is something that will appeal to all Citrix XA and XD customers as it helps them enhance and optimize what they already have—and more importantly it helps them drive down their OPEX by as much as 30%
- #19 Citrix has ben in the app publishing space for a long time. With all the innovations and integrations we’ve made in the past year, we’re able to add on to app publishing, and much more, to help Citrix shops better manage their end users and apps. For example, app isolation, delivery (using app volumes), app access, maint, monitoring.
