This study aims to understand the experiences of HIV-positive individuals disclosing or not disclosing their status while incarcerated. Over three years, the researchers will conduct in-depth interviews with 100 recently incarcerated individuals referred by community organizations. The goal is to identify factors that influence disclosure of HIV status in prison in order to inform recommendations to facilitate disclosure and improve access to HIV treatment for disproportionately affected minority populations.
