This document provides an overview of a 7th grade world history unit on early humans that will cover what archaeologists and anthropologists study, the different time periods in prehistory, and how archaeologists analyze evidence. Students will learn about hominids, the Paleolithic and Neolithic Ages, Homo sapiens, nomads, and the agricultural revolution. They will study artifacts found by archaeologists in Africa and other parts of the world and how carbon dating is used to estimate the age of artifacts.
