Martha's Midway Tavern is a historic bar and dancehall established in 1924 in Mishawaka, Indiana. During Prohibition, the original owners Martha and Cyriel Antheunes sold food items like chicken and soda to stay in business, as well as bootlegging whiskey from their garage. Although they made alcohol illegally, Martha said famous mobster Al Capone was just a nice, regular customer when he visited. The tavern kept operating through Prohibition and beyond, even after Martha and Cyriel were briefly jailed for liquor charges in 1930.
