History of Ganoderma (AKA. The "King of Herbs")

GanodermaLucidum has over 5,000 years of history. Since the ancient times, it had
been called the miraculous herb, precious herb, and an herb for life. It was also
treated as a "panacea" tribute for emperors and later earned the nickname
"supernatural eastern mushroom" from people of the west.

Ancient records showed that “Ganoderma’Lucidum grew in the imperial palace,
which is said to account for peace during the Handi-Wudi Epoch. A man named
Pengzu who was from Wuyi Mountain was said to have lived for hundreds of years,
with the face of a child, never looking old, and owed it to "ganoderma" lucidum. He
said, he kept himself in good health by taking GanodermaLucidum, drinking the
chute and living in reclusion.

The virtues of Ganoderma (Lingshi, Reishi) have been known since ancient times in
China and first documented during the reign of Fu Xi (2952-2836 BC).

The Infamous SengNong is said to have discovered the beneficial virtues of plants by
testing hundreds of species. "SengNong's Herbal Classic" is considered to be the
earliest manuscript on Chinese MateriaMedica and is still today the foundation of
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Oriental medicine in general. The document
describes GanodermaLucidum in detail: among 365 species of plants, roots, wood,
fur, animals and stones, divided into three grades, Ganoderma is listed as the highest
rank- No.1 of the first of "Superior Herbs."

Ganoderma worldwide

Six species of Ganoderma, differentiated by color, are mentioned in the
SengNong, classic. Li Shi Zhen, a famous medical scholoarduriing the Ming Dynasty
(1368-1644), fully researched and concretely documented the indications of the six
species. The work of Li was republished in 1956, and translated into several foreign
launguages including Japanese, English, French, German, Russian and Latin. This
book is regarded as the cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

To find Ganoderma in ancient times, people had to go high up on the mountains and
deep into forrests to harvest this most valuable herb. The discovery of Ganoderma
led to wide-spread celebration. Ganoderma was so valued it was used almost
exclusively by Emperors and by highly ranked courtesans.

Extracting the primary healthful essense was a long process of either boiling the
mushrooms for hours or soaking them in alcohol for weeks. This created a drink full
of the active ingredients needed to promote good health. Fortunately, there is a
better way today.
Controlled cultivation of Ganoderma had been attemted by many since ancient times
in China, but did not give satisfactory results. In 1971, Japanese researcher Yukio
Naoi of Kyoto University found ways to cultivate Ganoderma in quantity with
consistent quality. This method has led to the growth in production of Ganoderma
and allowed the general population to discover its power. Today, an estimated 4,300
tons of Ganoderma is produced yearly worldwide, with China producing 3,000 tons
followed by Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Sri
Lanka.

combines Ganoderma with some of the most popular beverages to a world looking
