Entrada Resources is seeking a Lead Operator for field-based operations, initially on a contract basis with potential for permanence. The role requires overseeing various operational tasks, providing training, and ensuring regulatory compliance, while candidates should have 7-10 years of industry experience and relevant qualifications. 1. Lead Operator Position
Entrada Resources is a privately funded exploration and production company, founded in March 2016.
The company currently produces approximately 2,000 boepd primarily from Cardium light oil assets
concentrated in the Willesden Green fields of central Alberta.
To manage significant growth over the last 18 months, we are currently looking to add an outstanding
individual to our field based operations team. The role will initially be on a contract basis with the
possibility to turn into a staff position in the future.
Reporting to the Field Foreman the Lead Operator will be a highly motivated individual who can support
both the Operators and Foreman in various day to day capacities as required including:
• Onsite representative for new well and equipment startups.
• Supervise minor workovers for Entrada.
• Repair instruments, pumps and controllers and provide training to operator’s.
• Tune instruments and controls and provide training to operator’s.
• Supervise field operator and contractor training on site.
• Generate procedures and review with operator’s.
• Review production reporting accuracy, Scada trends daily.
• Assist operators on completing regulatory compliance, which includes the following; (Packer
isolation, well inspections, meter calibrations, fluid and gas sampling, lease maintenance,
equipment PM schedule and chemical programs)
• Sign field tickets and provide permits and orientations.
• Onsite lead for emergency response or incident investigations.
• Optimize production and investigate ways improve operations and reduce costs.
• Assist Foreman with reviewing engineered drawings for equipment installations.
• Meet with contractors and provide details of job scope and utilize their feedback.
• Identify operational deficiencies and unsafe conditions and report to Foreman.
• Relieve Foreman when on holidays or not in the field.
Qualifications and Skills
• Minimum grade 12 diploma.
• 7 - 10 years of industry experience.
• P.E.T or C.E.T diploma an asset.
• Instrumentation journeyman certificate with operations experience an asset.
• 4th
Class power engineering, GPO certification an asset.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Strong knowledge of Scada, production programs and computers.
• Motivated self starter who thrives on feedback for continuous improvement.
