Mr. Him has over 12 years of industry and consulting experience. He has extensive
experience in a wide array of change management disciplines applied to a broad cultural
spectrum. He has taught and implemented Lean Enterprise tools, techniques and
philosophy, in Mexico, Brazil, and the US. He has developed, taught and implemented 6
Sigma (Process Excellence) tools in both manufacturing and service environments. Mr.
Him also has a strong background and experience in implementing product, customer and
supplier rationalization programs. He has worked on and managed numerous consulting
engagements in the automotive, non-standard insurance, pharmaceutical, electronics and
consumer industries worldwide.
Some of his selected accomplishments include:
• Global manufacturer of plastic bottles: Completed 3 projects yielding a total of
$1 Million in savings. Improved material yield from 71% to 85% and reduced
finished goods inventory by 40%.
• Global manufacturer of electric commutated motors: Implemented Lean
Enterprise disciplines and supply chain management techniques along global
value chain. Improved order to delivery cycle times from 75 days to 35 days on
specific electric motors for the Americas.
• Tier one supplier to the largest U.S automotive assembler: Implemented Lean
Enterprise disciplines with specific focus on JIT synchronous manufacturing
between radiator manufacturer and final assembly. Reduced rework levels by
80%, reduced manufacturing footprint by 40% (enabling consolidation of new
product line from sister plant). Improved cycle time of leading workstation by
50%.
• U.S automotive assembler: Implemented DMAIC (6 Sigma) disciplines plant
wide, implemented new planning and forecasting models and increased plant
throughput by 20%. Designed and implemented supply chain tool for inventory
management.
Mr. Him has a MBA in international Business from Portland State University and a
Masters of Engineering in Manufacturing from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
He is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from ASQ, certification # 3134 and bilingual in
Spanish.
