2. Automated Solutions, LLC located in Sawmills, North
Carolina has developed a new leather cutting system
called HideSaver. HideSaver is designed to increase
cutting yield and labor. There are a few designs that
are available. Continue to view some of the best pieces
of automated machinery.

3. HIDESAVER© RECEIVING
TABLE • Introducing the HideSaver© Receiving Table. This
model is the starting point for the HideSaver©
leather system. The Receiving Table digitally
captures hide boundary and defect information for
use by the HideSaver© offline “nesting” system.
• Hide boundaries are made digital using a high
resolution digital camera and extremely reliable
photogrammetry methods which results in
accurate digital geometry. any defects that pass
through the system are drawn by the operator
using an infrared LED pen. Defect types can be
altered, deleted or modified by by a click of the
LED pen.
• The one of a kind user interface is projected onto
the conveyor table. To increase speed and
reduce operator interaction with the PC, the
projections display the most commonly used
functions. The function buttons that are projected
onto the conveyor table are easily accessed by a
click of the LED pen.

TABLE
• The conveyor-driven table provides a continuous work process
designed specifically to increase speed and efficiency
• The LED pen also controls the conveyor belt and the leather hide
• The conveyor belt can be moved both forward and backward by using
the pen
• The HideSaver© Receiving Table also includes a dual-zone vacuum
system that holds hides securely in place regardless of the position of
the hide on the table
• The vacuum system wouldn’t be complete unless it too were controlled
by the specific function buttons located on the LED pen

TAURUS
• HideSaver© for Gerber© Taurus is revolutionary in
terms of efficiency and technology for leather
cutting systems
• The HideSaver© system can realize additional
leather savings of 2% – 5% and increased
throughput of up to 90%

HideSaver© because of digital hide data captured
and offline nesting
• This method eliminates the geometric data to be
analyzed to produce the best possible yield for
the entire group of hides

TAURUS
• The HideSaver© system uses a patented infrared LED
pen to mark defects with projected virtual lines all in a
digital format
• Since the defects are being marked with light there are
no physical marks placed on the face of your leathers
• The HideSaver© system also projects the pattern
outlines and pattern names onto each hide at the time
of cutting, eliminating cut piece recognition errors and
simplifying the kitting process.

7. HIDESAVER© DIE CUTTING
• The die placement operators no longer have to take
time to consider the best placement location for each
die
• Now they only have to place the die on top of the
matching die projection
• Placing dies using the HideSaver© system
dramatically reduces training time for new die
placement operators, which saves money and time
• The HideSaver© system also utilizes a simple,
intuitive user interface that is projected onto the die
placement table. Commonly used functions can be
accessed using an LED pen
• Operators use the LED pen to click on the projected
function buttons
• The HideSaver© for Die Cutting system is so simple
and easy to use that operation training generally
takes no more than half an hour
