The camera zooms out of
the main character at first
to reveal her and her body
language, not just her
facial expression.
It then zooms in to specific
parts of her. This is to
emphasise her as a child;
platted ponytails, colourful
clothes and dirty hands.
The camera shots then
introduce the little girl by
showing shots of her by
herself suggesting that she
is maybe an only/lonely
child. We follow her
throughout the day.
We then see shots
of her collecting
various objects. We
don’t know much
about her or what
she’s doing.

The music
throughout is very
calming and slow.
This music combined
with the sun shots on
the girl give out a
really peaceful vibe.
The following shots
are of objects she
has been
collecting. So then
the narrative starts
to come together.
Eventually the series of jump shots lead up
to this specific shot. The girl has built
something from the objects.
And this is
                 where the
                 narrative
                 comes
                 together.

The girl has
built a friend
out of those
objects.
I chose to analyse this short film because of the simplicity of the visuals.
Even though simple they are very artistic. There is also something about
this young girl that is inviting to the audience, as if they feel like they
want to know more about her.
