5. PROMOTERS’ VIEWS ON THE PRODUCT
Dr. BINOY B. BORDOLOI
“Demonstrated efficacy of reduction of inflammatory cytokines with the synergistic blend of
essential oils was established in an arthritic animal model with topical treatment. It was carried
out in the labs of Prof. Samir Bhattacharya (Former Director IICB - Kolkata, CSIR-NEIST -
Jorhat, and Research Emeritus Professor, School of Life Sciences, Visva-Bharati, a Central
University, Santiniketan, West Bengal)”. (Please see next 7 slides.)
Dr. KULWANT S. SAINI
“HerboJoint is a combination of Mother Nature’s time tested herbs into a scientific, evidence
based product meeting the needs of patients for alleviating crippling joint pain thereby
improving day-to-day quality of life.”
6. KATTRNA (Cymbopogon citratus) OIL
Cymbopogon citratus, commonly known as lemon grass or oil grass, is a tropical plant from
South Asia and Southeast Asia.
Laboratory studies have shown cytoprotective, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties in
in vitro studies.
Research has demonstrated that the plants essential oil enhances GABA-ergic neurotransmission
at sufficient doses (with an anxiolytic threshold dose of 10 mg/kg) via positive allosteric
agonism in the same manner as benzodiazepines (eg. diazepam) which are used clinically
as anxiolytics, sedative/hypnotics, muscle relaxants....
7. Cymbopogon Citratus Oil (Lemongrass Oil) is very well known in India. It
has been studied extensively in Japan as well (Mitoshi et al , “Suppression
of allergic and inflammatory responses by essential oils derived from herbal
plants and citrus fruits”, International Journal of Molecular Medicine, 33:
1643 – 1651, 2014). They extensively investigated 20 essential oils, and
reported that Lemongrass Oil was the most efficacious of them all with
respect to in-vitro anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory activities. (Please see
the Chart in next slide.)
8. SATI (Hedychium spicatum) OIL
Known as Sati in Ayurveda, Kappor Katcheri herb and the essential oil extracted from the
rhizomes of this plant through steam distillation process has been in use traditionally for treating
inflammation and certain other problems...
Kappor Katcheri is a Hindi name and is scientifically called as Hedychium spicatum. It is a limb of
the Ginger family Zingiberaceae. It is a small hardy ginger with bright and large white and
orange flowers and is indigenous to the subtropical Himalayan regions in India at an altitude of
1000 to 3000 m...
9. TUMURU (Zanthoxylum armatum) OIL
With the botanical name Zanthoxylum armatum, the Winged Prickly Ash tree is a member of the
Citrus family Rutaceae. Tomar tree is indigenous to Eastern Asia to China along the Himalayas
and few other parts of India.
This oil was trusted to give warmness to the body and was recommended for treating ailments
like rheumatism...

11. THREE ESSENTIAL OILS
The three essential oils have proven efficacy for pain relief in the joints. Based on published data
in scientific literature in India, Japan and other countries these herbal oils are reported to be
effective in Rheumatoid arthritis and Osteoarthritis.
Pharmacological trials established that systemic manifestation of Rheumatoid arthritis may be
accounted for by release of inflammatory molecules of Cytokines from joints such as TNF-alfa
(tumour nercosis factor), IL-1beta, and 1L-6 in arthritic animal model the oil blend was found to
bring down/regulate these arthritic markers in blood serum in pre and post measurement of
these Cytokines.
