HEALTHY PEOPLE
Healthy Peopleis a program of a nationwide health-
promotion and disease-prevention goals set by the United
States DHHS(Department of Health and Human Services). •
Created by Congress in 1976 to lead the Nation’s
disease prevention and health promotion efforts.
Healthy People provides science-based, national goals
and objectives with 10-year targets designed to guide
national health promotion and disease prevention efforts
to improve the health of all people in the United States.
