The prostate is an exocrine gland of the male mammalian reproductive system
It is a walnut-sized gland that forms part of the male reproductive system and is located in front of the rectum and just below the urinary bladder
Function is to store and secrete a clear, slightly alkaline fluid that constitutes 10-30% of the volume of the seminal fluid that along with the spermatozoa, constitutes semen
A healthy human prostate measures (4cm-vertical, by 3cm-horizontal, 2cm ant-post ).
It surrounds the urethra just below the urinary bladder. It has anterior, median, posterior and two lateral lobes
It’s work is regulated by androgens which are responsible for male sex characteristics
Generalised disease of the prostate due to hormonal derangement which leads to non malignant enlargement of the gland (increase in the number of epithelial cells and stromal tissue)to cause compression of the urethra leading to symptoms (LUTS
Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!

4. CLEANING PRODUCTS TO
DETOXIFY YOUR HOME
We spend a lot of time focusing on what
we eat and exercising to try to stay healthy
but many people haven‘t considered the
damage that every day chemicals are
doing to our bodies.
Toxic fumes from commonly used products
such as bleach can cause respiratory
damage to ourselves, our children and our
pets. Allergies and asthma can also be
irritated causing distress and worry.
Whether you are directly affected or not
aware of the symptoms, the chemicals you
come into contact with every day are
having an impact on your health. VOC‘s
(Volatile Organic Compounds) found in
many cleaning products emit toxic fumes
affecting the quality of air you breathe. The
residue left behind from cleaning down
your bench tops goes onto your hands and
into your food.
Choosing to use products made from
natural or environmentally friendly
ingredients is a simple way to reduce your
exposure.
So what should you look out for?
Environmental Choice NZ certified
products are a good start. Products must
pass stringent rules to gain this certification
so you can trust that these products are both
environmentally friendly and user friendly.
What else can you do? If using concentrated
cleaning products make sure you dilute as
directed. Using too much product reduces
the effectiveness of the cleaner, causes
undue wastage and simply costs you more!
When used correctly many eco-friendly
cleaning products work as good as if not
better than standard products.
Small changes can make a difference to your
health and the environment you live and
work in.
At Insinc Products we have a large range of
eco-friendly options for both your home and
workplace. Commercial grade cleaning
products as well as toilet paper and paper
towels made from recycled paper (oxygen
bleached not chlorine bleached). Also
available are biodegradable cups, plates and
cutlery – perfect for your next function.

6. unusual Enjoy!
Nix Post-Shaving Redness - Shave your
face, legs or underarms in the shower after
standing under warm water for a few
minutes. This will help open up hair follicles
and will soften hairs so they're less coarse
to shave.
Apply Mascara To Fake Lashes - This
will help fake lashes blend in more
seamlessly with your natural ones.
Keep It On - When using cream-based
beauty products - like lipstick or foundation
- apply a dry face powder on top to seal in
your look.
Find Your Shade - When choosing a
foundation, test a product on the skin near
your jawline. And be sure to do it in natural
light. This will ensure the foundation tone
you choose for your face isn't too different
from the natural shade of your neck
Cracked Heal Remedy - Apply nappy rash
cream to help heal cracked elbows and
feet. The moisturisers and anti-inflamatory
ingredients help hydrate and repair the
skin.
Remove Nail Polish Without Remover -
If you run out of nail polish remover, you
can remove nail polish by applying a clear
top coat to the nail and removing it quickly
with a cotton ball.
Treat Ingrown Hairs - Apply a product
containing witch hazel to help reduce the
swelling and redness, then coax the ingrown
hair from its location with a pair of tweezers
(don't pull it out as this will only make the
ingrown hair regrow the same way later).
For Greasy Hair - Avoid applying conditioner
directly to your hair's roots - just apply the
heavy moisturizing cream to the ends of your
hair
Get fit with Pilates, Boxing or Circuits or check out our massage
therapists, personal training and Osteopath to keep your body in top
condition located in Whangaparaoa we service all fitness needs for
the Hibiscus Coast
Unit 3, 55 Karepiro Drive Ph: 428 2251 www.inshapestudio.co.nz
8. Sunburn Remedy - Take a warm bath in
VERY strong black tea -- the tannins take
away the sting and swelling
Dry Out Pimples - Dabbing toothpaste
onto a pimple is a quick and easy way to
help dry it out
Give Curls Bounce - Never brush curls
out with a brush. Instead, loosen them with
your fingers. This will give curls added lift
without flattening them down.
Use Oil On Your Skin - Even If is is
already oily. While it sounds mad using an
oil-based product to remove makeup or
excess dirt from your skin can actually
improve your epidermis' condition. Why?
Over-cleaning stimulates the sebum
glands, which causes skin to over-produce
oil. Using oil-based products will have the
opposite effect.
Linku2 take no responsibility for any outcome from
use of any of these tips or whether they really work
but guess they are always worth a try – we are just
the messenger. Sources include Total Beauty,
Huffington Post and Women‘s Day.
POPULAR ESSENTIAL OILS AND
THEIR USES
An essential oil is a concentrated liquid
extracted from a plant. The ‗essential‘ part
of the oil means it carries a scent, or
essence of the plant from which it has been
extracted.
Essential oils have many uses including in
medicinal treatments, in beauty products,
food and drink flavouring and incense
burning.
Aromatherapy is an alternative treatment
which uses essential oils in treatments for
their curative effects.
Whilst there is a lack of clinical evidence on
the curative effects in the use of essential
oils there is no doubt they can offer positive
therapeutic results.
Used in massage the oils can also create a
distinct sense of well being.
Some of the most popular essential oils
include -

Eat 90% of your meals at home. You will
be more likely to eat less and lower fat
foods than a restaurant or fast food
outlet.
Watch one less hour of TV. A study of
US undergraduate students found the
more they watched television, the more
often they ate and the more they ate
overall. Go for a walk or finish a chore
instead which will also burn calories!
Brush your teeth after every meal,
especially after dinner. That clean, minty
freshness will indicate to your brain that
food time is finished.
Be positive. You know the rules, if you
focus on things you can‘t do, like
resisting fatty food or taking some
exercise, then you won‘t. Repeat
positive thoughts to yourself. ―I can lose
weight.‖ ―I will get out for my walk today.‖
Repeat these phrases like a mantra all
day long and it will work.
Sniff a banana, an apple, or a
peppermint when you feel hungry -
apparently it works! Research by Alan R.
Hirsch, M.D., in Chicago discovered the
more frequently people sniffed, the less
hungry they were and the more weight
they lost.
Hide your remote. If you must watch TV,
at least stand up to change the channel.
Instead of sitting and reading, listen to
books on tape as you walk, clean, or

NASAL ALLERGIES AND HOW
TO AVOID TIPS
Pollen, mold, pets, or dust mites? If your
eyes are watering and your nose is
stopped up, you may be more interested in
what will get rid of your symptoms than
what‘s causing them. Knowing that,
though, can help you get lasting relief.
If your allergies act up at certain times of
the year, you may be allergic to pollen. In
the spring, pollinating trees are usually to
blame for allergies. In summer, grasses
and weeds mainly make pollen.
If your symptoms tend to last all year, you
may be allergic to dust mites, pet fur, or
mould. You can be allergic to more than
one thing, and you can have seasonal and
year-round allergies. In fact, it‘s common
for people who have allergies to be allergic
to more than one trigger.
How to Avoid Pollen
Pollen doesn't mean to bug you. It's there
to help plants reproduce. But if you inhale
it, it can cause allergy symptoms such as:

Nasal congestion
Runny nose
Itchy throat
Cough
It's a lot like a cold, plus a sore throat and
hoarseness, and you usually get it like
clockwork when the plants that make the
pollen that bother you are blooming.
5 Ways to Keep Pollen Out of Your
Home
Close your windows and outside doors.
Avoid using window and fans during
pollen season. Use air-conditioning to
cool your home.
Roll up your car windows when driving.
Use the air-conditioning, if you need it.
Dry clothing and bedding in the dryer.
Don't hang them outside.
Remember that pets can bring in pollen
on their fur, too. Don't allow pets that
spend time outdoors in your bedroom.
If you have to be outside, minimise your
exposure to pollen.
Check pollen counts before planning
outdoor activities.
Avoid being outdoors in the early
morning, when pollen is most
widespread.
Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes
from pollen.
Have someone else mow your grass.
Don't rake leaves during pollen season.
If you must do gardening, wear a mask.
Going on holiday? Look for a place
where pollen is low, such as the beach,
or take your medications with you.
Change your clothing when you come
indoors. Shower and wash your hair
first.

THE ABLE TASMAN COAST
TRACK
The Able Tasman Coast Track is located in
Abel Tasman National Park on South Island‘s
northern shores. It is a 54.4 km track with all
streams bridged but there are tidal crossings
which can only be crossed within a few hours
either side of low tide. The track takes an
average of three to five days to complete and
can be walked from either end. There are huts
and campsites where you can stay for a fee.
Bookings are required. There is no charge for
day walks. Visitors can walk into the park
from the roadend carparks, catch water
taxis to beaches along the track or kayak
along the coast.
The nearest towns of Nelson, Motueka and
Takaka have i-SITES, accommodation and
shops catering for tramping and kayaking
needs. Kaiteriteri has a petrol station, small
grocery shop, accommodation and café.
Marahau has accommodation, a shop and
cafés. Takaka is the last place for petrol
before Totaranui.
The track runs from Marahau in the south
to Wainui in the north.
Between Marahau and Anchorage the
distance is 12.4 km. This stretch of the
track starts with a causeway at Marahau
passing through open countryside to
Tinline Bay. Passing on through beech
forest with large kanuka trees the track
turns inland through a number of gullies
and emerging to views over Torrent Bay
and the coast and islands to the north.
In Anchorage Bay there is a hut and
campsite.
Continuing north the Torrent Bay estuary
can only be crossed at low tide but there is
otherwise a high tide track around. From
Torrent Bay the track climbs steadily and
follows round two valleys above Falls River
which is the biggest in the park. The river is
crossed by a spectacular 47 m suspension
bridge.
The track then meanders through coastal
forest and drops back to the sea with a hut
and campsite at the Bark Bay estuary.
After crossing the Bark Bay estuary you
travel through stands of manuka. Back at
the shore blocks of granite remain from an
old quarrying operation at Tonga Quarry.
Offshore, Tonga Island is surrounded by a
marine reserve. Onetahuti Bay can only be
crossed with in 3 hours either side of low
tide with the track then climbing over
Tonga Saddle and descending to Awaroa
Inlet with a hut and campsite along the
shore.
The Awaroa estuary crossing is another
14. that can only be crossed at low tide, the
northern side crosses a low saddle and
drops to Waiharakere Bay where a timber
mill used to be in operation.
From here it is back into the forest
emerging at Goat Bay. Climbing to a
lookout above Skinner Point the track then
descends to Totaranui.
Heading around Totaranui estuary the
track climbs over a low saddle and winds
down through lush forest to Anapai Bay.
From Anapai Bay to Mutton Cove the track
passes through sandy beaches and rocky
headlands of regenerating kanuka.
The track then climbs to another saddle
and descends to Whariwharangi Bay. If
you wish to visit Separation Point this
begins before the descent.
From the hut at Whariwharangi follow a
small stream then climb out of the bay to a
saddle overlooking Wainui inlet. The track
winds down to the shore and follows the
estuary edge to the carpark.

THE HISTORY OF RUGBY IN
NEW ZEALAND
On the 14th
of May 1870 around 200
people gathered at Nelson‘s Botanic
Reserve to witness what was to be an
historic occasion.
A new version of rugby football was
brought to New Zealand by Charles Munro.
Munro completed his schooling at Christ‘s
College in Finchley, England and during
this time had played the version of football
associated with Rugby School.

15. On his return to New Zealand Munro
suggested the local football club try out the
rugby rules.
Later that year Munro organised a game
between Nelson and Wellington played at
Petone and won by Nelson. By 1875 the
game had become established across the
country.
New South Wales was the first foreign team
to visit in 1882 and the first British team
toured in 1888 and in 1892 the New
Zealand Rugby Football Union was
established.
It is not clear when the national team
became known as the ―All Blacks‖. Some
claim it was when the team, in their recently
adopted all black jerseys toured Australia in
1884. Others claim it was a mistype by the
British press during the 1905 tour claiming
the team was ‗all backs‘ during their tour of
Britain in 1905. The all black jersey was
formally adopted in 1893.
From 1884 various war cries were
performed by touring New Zealand teams
but it was the All Black 1905 British tour
which is credited with developing the
popularity of the haka. Until the 1970‘s the
haka was only performed on overseas tours
but it is now performed at all All Black
matches.
Fear of the black jersey first crept in during
the 1905 tour when the All Blacks played in
Britain and Europe with a different style of
rugby, running with the ball and favouring
spinning the ball wide or crashing through
instead of kicking at goal.
This 1905 team became known as ‗The
Originals‘ winning 34 of their 35 games with
no points conceded in 23 of those 35
games.
The team of 1924/25 outdid ‗The Originals‘
playing 32 matches and winning all 32
against England, Ireland, Wales and
France. This team became known as ‗The
Invincibles‘.
The All Blacks, including their psychological
edge with the haka, had become the most
feared opponent in the sport.
WAKO KICKBOXING
WAKO started its activity in Europe in
1976 . The founder was Mr. Georg Bruckner
from Berlin, who promoted the first ever
World Championships in semi and full
contact karate (as it was called in those
days) back in 1978 with 110 competitors
representing 18 countries.
WAKO immediately created the rules and
regulations for the new fighting sports and
acted, since the very beginning, as the
authentic Kickboxing Federation in the
world. In our Championships, only national

16. teams are accepted. Each member country
can present only 1 competitor in each
weight class, the best, "la creme de la
creme". Our World Championships are
NOT open competitions where everybody
can try, spending a few dollars, to become
"World Champ" like they do almost every
week-end in USA.
Each competitor has gone through a long
selection in his country before competing in
WAKO tournaments and normally he is the
national champ of his weight class in that
particular kickboxing style. (WAKO offers 7
different styles: semi contact, light contact,
kick-light, full contact, low-kick, K1 Rules,
and musical forms: 4 styles are on tatami
or mats, 3 in the ring).
Therefore WAKO guarantees the best
possible kickboxing fights and its gold
medallists are true champions. Today
WAKO can count on 118 affiliated nations
in the 5 continents, and in the greatest
majority of cases, WAKO unites the
strongest and best national kickboxing
organisations.
WAKO has today 85 affiliated national
federations which are officially recognized
by either their National Olympic
Committees or by their Highest
Government Sport Authorities.
Today WAKO counts on a market of
kickboxers estimated to be around
3.000,000 participants and no less than
25,000 clubs around the globe. We
promote, nationally and internationally,
more than 1,000 amateur events a year.
These figures speak for themselves. Now
officially recognised by GAISF and by
OCA, WAKO is growing steadily all over
the world promoting regularly continental
and world championships and organises
"open" events that spread the word about
our movement, attracting thousands of
spectators to sports-arenas.
In 2007 WAKO participated in the African
Games , held in Algiers (Algeria) in July for
the first time and in the 2nd ASIAN
INDOOR GAMES held in Macau (China) in
October. It happened the same in
Bangkok (Thailand) and then in Ho Chi Min
City (Vietnam) in 2009.
WAKO, being a member of
SPORTACCORD (former GAISF), together
with other IFs, have contributed to create
the WORLD COMBAT GAMES, an event
which gathered the élites of the Martial
Arts and Fighting Sport Federations in
Beijing in 2010, an umbrella organization
stressing excellency in our sports.
