Guide on How to Get Rid Acne
Many people are wondering if there acne solutions that really work, or if it simply is impossible to
completely cure it. If you are plagued by acne this may be a question that you have asked too. There are
acne solutions that really work and this article will give you some ideas of what you can try so you will
be able to find some acne solutions that really work.
Detoxification is one way to help with acne.
Detoxification is probably the best way to get rid of acne quick for around the 90% of acne sufferers
out there. Detoxification removes excessive toxins in the body and improves the immune system, as
well as regulates the secretion of oil to your skin. These three are some of the most acne-causing factors
and through detoxification you are able to tackle them head on.
Some other good tips on detoxification include:
1. Drink more pure water
2. Exercise more.
3. Fasting
4. Eat more fruits and vegetables with lots of fibers.
Remember that one of the best natural methods is adopting an anti-acne diet. That's because food is one
of the main causes of acne.
There are countless other natural treatments for acne available out there. They are all helpful. Black
mud soap is also one of these treatments and has proven to be effective for many people. Thermal
treatment for acne has minimal side effects and can be used to cure pimples fast.
Zeno acne clearing device is a thermal device which is very easy to use and brings about fast results. It
is most effective for pustules and furuncles in their very early stage. When you see a red bump on your
face, immediately treat it by using Zeno and it will not turn into a pus-filled pimple that looks ugly.
There are a variety of factors that influence acne. Women will often experience bouts of it with their
menstrual cycle, stress can cause flare ups, and it is much recognized that the heat and subsequent
sweating that occur in the summertime can cause a severe case of acne to go wild. All of these factors
are addressed, and solutions for them explained so that everyone can enjoy clean, clear skin.
While this may sound like thousands of other products, the clinical trials of the Acne No More system
speak for themselves. It had a one hundred percent success rate in its test subjects, and since then has
shown continued success in the general public regardless of race, gender, or the location and severity of
the acne infection. This is unmatched by any other treatment plan on the market.
Natural Ways For Hair Removal
It is one of the commonest problems faced by many women. Men can get away by shaving their beard,
moustache and cutting their hair. For women it is not that simple. There are some common measures
which every woman must have tried in her lifetime.
Waxing: It is one of the easiest and convenient ways to deal with your hair. It may be painful in the
beginning but this method goes a long way. The hair growth after waxing is comparatively slower in
comparison to shaving. It also keeps your waxed legs and hands smooth and supple. You can make this
wax in the luxury of your very home.
Homemade wax
Use two cups of sugar, one fourth cup of water and one fourth cup of lemon juice. Heat a pan and pour
all the mentioned ingredients in it. Heat this over a low flame and keep stirring till it’s melted. You will
get a thick brown liquid which can be used once slightly cool.
Before you start waxing check it on you finger for consistency as well as the temperature. Before
applying this mixture with a butter knife, cool it by blowing air over it. Use a clean cloth or any waxing
strip; pull it in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Once done, apply ice as well as astringent over
the area to tighten the pores.
Sugaring is a very old method of hair removal. With change in time this technique of hair removal is
back in fashion. Its popularity has increased tremendously. You can try this recipe by using one cup
sugar, juice of half a lemon, one fourth cup honey, Molasses, very little and cornstarch.
Mix lemon, sugar, molasses and honey in bowl and heat it in the microwave for 2-4 minutes to get a
smooth consistency. You can do the same by keeping it on the gas on a low flame. Dust the area with
cornstarch before applying the mixture. This helps in smooth removal of the hair. Use the same
procedure like waxing by using the strips.
Tweezing is another method for removing facial hair by using tweezers. It is a painstaking as well as
time consuming job. Usually used for bushy eyebrows. Tweezing eventually stops your hair growth by
the continuous pricking even though it may take lot of time.
Threading one of the most common and known method of hair removal used on any part of your body.
This form of hair removal is used for upper lips, chin, eyebrows or any little patch which hasn’t been
taken care while waxing. It requires detail and attention. It is very useful for people with sensitive skin.
It is the twirling of the cotton threads which removes the hair for that perfect look.
You can naturally bleach your hair with lemon juice and chamomile tea. One should not use lemon
juice undiluted so you can mix honey with lemon juice.
You can also use pumice stone to remove excess hair on everyplace other than your face.
Warning: The reader of this article should exercise all precautionary measures while following
instructions on the home remedies from this article. Avoid using any of these products if you are
allergic to it. The responsibility lies with the reader and not with the site or the writer.
Vitamins That Help With Hair Growth
Loss of hair, or baldness, is the result of not having enough vitamin B supplements. Vitamin B is very
important, as it contains B3 niacin, which is very important for growing hair. Vitamin B6 is another
important vitamin, containing nutrients such as sulfur, biotin, magnesium, and zinc.
Without these vitamins, your body won’t be able to grow hair as much, which commonly results in
balding or hair loss as we get older.
What many people fail to realize, is the importance of vitamin B. Research has shown in the past that
vitamin B is very important to hair growth. Men who consume foods that are rich in vitamin B are less
likely to experience hair loss. Vitamin B is an essential vitamin, and also one that enriches the overall
quality and thickness of hair.
Vitamin A is also important with hair growth. To get the proper amount of vitamin A, you should
consume fatty acids. Some examples include flaxseed oil, primrose, and salmon oil. If you consume
these types of fatty acids, you’ll get the right amount of vitamin A that is needed to enhance the growth
of your hair. If you are worried about hair loss, you should make sure that you are getting enough
vitamin A and vitamin B.
Vitamin E is also important for hair growth, as it stimulates your intake of oxygen and helps to improve
your blood circulation as well. If your blood is circulating properly, then the growth of your hair will
be enhanced. The proper circulation of blood is very important with hair growth, as the blood is what
helps your hair to grow, and the necessary vitamins to flow through your body.
Another necessary vitamin for hair growth is biotin. You can find this essential source in rice, green
peas, soybeans, oats, yeast, walnuts, and sunflower seeds. It is also found with some types of
shampoos as well. If you are using shampoo that contains biotin, you’ll be getting into your root tips
faster, which will help to promote the growth of your hair. Even though you may be using shampoo
that contains biotin, you’ll still need to take the necessary vitamins and supplements as well.
Before you take any vitamins or supplements, you should always consult with your doctor and get his
opinion. There may be some vitamins and supplements that you shouldn’t be taking, which is why you
should always consult with your doctor before you make any decision.
Your doctor will be able to run tests and go through your history with you, letting you know what you
can and can’t take. This way, you can choose your vitamin supplements accordingly – and know
without a doubt that there will be no long term side effects or problems.
Home Treatments for Stretch Marks
Stretch marks (striae) are relatively common, even in males. It is not completely understood how they
form, but there are several theories. One is that stretch marks form simply when the skin is stretched to
the point of breaking and a scar is formed.
Another interesting theory is that stretch marks are caused by an increased level of glucocorticoids
(cortisol). Glucocorticoids prevent connective tissues from forming the collagen and elastin fibers need
to keep the skin tight, and dermal layer then tears. Some people may be more genetically prone to
stretch marks than others. Skin type may be a factor; dryer skin has less elasticity than oily skin, and is
more prone to stretch marks.
Treating Stretch Marks
There are several extra steps you can take for the reduction of your stretch marks. Consider your skin
care regimen, and fine-tune it to meet the needs of skin that is damaged, requires cellular repair and the
stimulation of collagen and elastin production.
Nutrition: An adequate amount of water, vitamins E, C, selenium, and alpha lipoic acid, as well as
enough monounsaturated fats (olive oil) and gamma lineolic acid (borage oil) are vital for keeping your
skin strong and healthy and able to repair itself.
The basic treatment for the reduction of the appearance of scars is to regularly 1) remove the
overgrown scar tissue with brisk exfoliation and then 2) encourage the regrowth of normal tissues with
use of nutrients and conditioners.
If stretch marks have formed because of weight gain, reducing bodyfat stores (losing weight) can help
reduce the appearance of stretch marks by releasing pressure from the skin.
Exfoliation: Stretch marks are similar to scars, there can be either a build up of scar tissue, which
results in a raised stretch mark, or tearing and obvious depressions in the skin. Stretch marks respond
well to vigorous exfoliation with both mechanical and chemical means. Your goal is to break down the
malformed collagen and have it slough off, while new, properly constructed collagen and skin cells are
formed below.
You may wish to perform at least a light exfoliation on the stretch marks on a daily basis. You can use
a massage tool to improve the breakdown of scar tissues. Applying alpha hydroxy peel products, such
as retinol, glycolic or lactic acid, has shown to be effective for the improvement of stretch marks.
Protection: After exfoliating, apply antioxidant formulas with A, E, C, and alpha lipoic acids to protect
the new skin cells from damage. If skin is to be exposed to the sun, apply a sunscreen to prevent
further breakdown of newly formed skin cells.
Moisturizer: After exfoliating skin and applying antioxidants, moisturize the area thoroughly. If you
are prone to stretch marks, remember to moisturize your body skin daily to avoid developing more
stretch marks with weight changes. Aloe Vera should be used to improve skin microcirculation,
followed by a layer of lipid-based cream or lotion.
Other Treatments:
- Sleep: Get plenty of sleep to help your skin regenerate.
- Milk Bath: You can soak your entire body with softening lactic acid by adding a cup or two of skin
milk powder to your bath and soaking for 15 to 20 minutes several times a week. For extra enjoyment,
add a few drops of your favorite scent to the bath. Rinse the milk bath off under the shower, but do not
use soap. If you’re sweaty or dirty, take a quick shower with a mild soap before your milk
bath. Moisturize your body skin thoroughly afterwards.
- You can prepare your own tinctures and creams, or look for commercial products that contain
ingredients known to improve the appearance of stretch marks.
- The following nutrients may be helpful in the treatment of stretch marks:
Natural Internal Treatments for Stretch Marks
- Vitamin C
- Borage Oil
- Alpha Lipoic Acid
- Copper
- CoQ10
- Flax Seed Oil
- Horsetail
- MSM
- Palm Oil
Natural External Treatments for Stretch Marks
- Natural Exfoliation Agents
- Apricot kernal scrub
- Bromelain
- Dead Sea Salts
- Dessicated Milk Powder (lactic acid)
- Papain
- Rolled Oats
- Sea Salt
- Brown Sugar (glycolic acid)
- White Willow Bark, ground (salicylic acid)
- Vitamin A Oil
Natural External Rejuvenation Agents
- Almond Oil
- Aloe Vera Gel
- Alpha Lipoic Acid
- Borage Oil
- Boxthorn herb
- Bergamot
- Sea Buchthorn
- Clary Sage
- Grape Seed Extract
- Comfrey Herb
- Safflower Oil
- Rosemary Herb
- Coconut Oil
- Sunflower & Safflower Oil
- Vitamin E & Vitamin A oil
- Squalene Oil
Remember that the reduction of stretch marks is a two step process. First, the malformed collagen cells
must be broken down by mechanical or chemical means. Secondly the new underlying skin layers
must be encouraged to grow properly and with proper nutrition and hydration.
With a little diligent effort, the appearance of stretch marks can be reduced and improved.
How To Give A Back Massage
With fast paced lives and the continuous chase to meet deadlines, the tired mind and body tends to seek
out for a stress buster. People bogged down by stress find it affecting not only their minds but their
bodies as well.
Massage helps you eliminate stress to bring about a relaxed you. It is a relaxing experience by artistic
hand strokes on the body to rejuvenate the mind and body and eliminate stress scientifically.
To give a back massage, follow these steps:
Ask the person to lie face & belly down on flat surface with his/her head turned to one side. Avoid
straining your back when you giving a massage. Stand or kneel beside the lying person
Start off gently by spreading oil over the entire back, so that your hands dont' stick to the massage
receiver’s back.
Begin with light strokes at the base of the neck. Move your hands on the either side of the spine,
applying gentle pressure. Rub up and down the length and sides of the back. Repeating this several
times starts the relaxation process.
Apply the fleshy part of your thumbs to the shoulder blades on either side of the spine at mid back.
Move up to the base of the neck by applying small outward strokes. Apply pressure away from the
spine.
After the warm up, move to the spots that feel tight or hard under your hand. Again with the fleshy
part of your thumb, work in small circles. Adjust the pressure accordingly to serving the purpose of
relaxation. This will loosen up the tight spots.
Next pay full attention to the shoulder area. Place your palm on one of the shoulder blades, shaking
it gently by moving your palm back and forth. This will create a nice loose movement of the shoulder
blade and arm. Repeat on the other side.
Next move to the bottom of the shoulder blade, near the spine. With your thumb, push all the way
across the shoulder blade from the spine applying pressure suitably. Cover the entire shoulder area with
the horizontal stroke. Switch to other side and repeat.
Knead gently in small circular motions with the fleshy part of your fingers the tender spots along the
top of the shoulder and collar bone.
Use the heel of the hands to apply pressure down the sides of the spine, starting from upper shoulder
and moving down to the lower back.
Apply soothing finishing strokes by gently rubbing your hands up the center of the back on either
side of the spine and down the sides of the back.
Beginners Guide To Aromatherapy
When you smell something nice, such as an appealing perfume, or a tasty dish being cooked in the
kitchen, or fresh cut roses set in a vase full of cold water, does not the smell give you a good feeling
inside? These good feelings created by pleasing aromas are the basis for the art of aromatherapy.
People who practice aromatherapy believe that the scents that a person smells can induce the body to
stimulate its ability to heal itself. Depending on the kind of scent or combination of scents that was
inhaled or absorbed through the skin, the scent activates the immune system of the body, making it
more capable of fighting invading microorganisms that cause disease and boosting its strength.
To make the body heal and become more resistant to illness, practitioners of aromatherapy make use of
essential oils. These essential oils are extracted from aromatic plants. They often find uses in the
making of scented candles, perfume, soap and other beauty products.
Essential oils are very volatile – they evaporate easily and they are easily absorbed into the skin.
Practitioners of aromatherapy, however, never use essential oils undiluted because these oils are highly
concentrated. They can burn and irritate the skin if they come into direct contact with it.
Essential oils are always mixed with what are called carrier oils before they are used. What, now, are
carrier oils? Simply put, they are vegetable oils, extracted from certain kinds of fruits, nuts and
vegetables. They are called carrier oils because they literally carry the essential oil when mixed and
applied onto the skin.
Practitioners of aromatherapy believe that each kind of essential oil and each kind of carrier oil have
their own properties and characteristics. To treat a specific ailment, a specific combination of essential
oils and carrier oils need to be used. The mixture is then massaged onto the skin or added to
bathwater. Sometimes, it is put into an air diffuser. Below are the most commonly used essential oils
and carrier oils, as well as the properties that each possess and the ailments for which they are used.
Essential oils:
Chamomile. Chamomile can help in easing pain so the body can relax. It is also good for soothing
the skin. Chamomile is often used for people suffering from nervous tension, headaches caused by
fatigue, and an upset stomach. It can also be used for treating skin problems like acne and boils.
Eucalyptus. Eucalyptus refreshes as well as relieves congestion and pain. So, it is used for colds,
sinusitis and other respiratory problems. It is also applied to aching muscles and joints affected by
rheumatism.
Lavender. For ailments such as rheumatism and muscle tension as well as skin problems like acne
and dandruff, lavender is often used. Lavender can help soothe and relax the body as well as enhance
the circulation of the blood. Lavender is also applied to people suffering from insomnia.
Lemon. The citrus in lemon is refreshing and can provide relief from congestion and pain. This is
why it is also used for treating headaches and migraine. It is also good for treating stomach problems,
and it is also claimed to have the ability to reduce the appearance of cellulite on the skin.
Rose. The rose is great for the skin. It is often applied to skin that is dry, delicate or sensitive,
making it softer and smoother. The scent of the rose can also aid in relaxing the body, so it is also used
for treating headaches, stress and insomnia.
Carrier oils
Almond. Almond oil is good for the skin because it has Vitamin D and can help moisturize dry skin.
It is a popular kind of carrier oil because the skin can easily absorb it.
Apricot. Apricot oil is a light kind of carrier oil that is rich in Vitamin A. Practitioners of
aromatherapy love to use apricot oil because it arrests the skin’s aging process and helps revitalize the
skin.
Grapeseed. Grapeseed oil is the most commonly used carrier oil among practitioners of
aromatherapy because it is the least expensive. Also, because it is light, it can be used on people with
oily skin without clogging the pores.
Jojoba. Jojoba oil is another type of carrier oil that is good for people with oily skin. It has the
ability to break down excess sebum, which causes pimples and dandruff. Moreover, jojoba has Vitamin
E, a kind of vitamin that helps the skin maintain its youth.
Sesame. Sesame oil is a kind of carrier oil that is known for its nutty smell, but it has great
antiseptic properties. It is effective in treating fungal infections, skin infections and light wounds.
Aromatherapy is a nice way of treating the body's hurts and pains, if only because the oils used in
aromatherapy smell great.
How Affordable Are Home Spas?
If you’re like most, you dream of one day coming home to your very own spa. You envision a world
where you can leave the stressors of the day far behind and relax in peace and contentment until the
telephone rings or the kids demand their dinner. Well, what can I say? Reality has a way of creeping
into every dream.
As you can imagine, home spas can be found with a wide range of prices and options. A basic spa will
cost you about $2,000, but you could easily spend $6,000 or more on a spa with extra features. If you
want a spa that will clean itself and be warm and ready when you get home, you can expect to spend an
additional $1,000 to $3,000 for the remote control system that will make it possible.
If you think you can’t afford price tags like these, never fear! You can finance it. Right now, it is
possible to finance a spa for as little as $50 to $100 a month. Of course, you could spend a great deal
more than that if you purchase the more expensive model. But if price is of major concern, keep in
mind that an inexpensive spa will likely be just as relaxing as an expensive one. You should also
consider the fact that you could get a lot of features with a more expensive model that you may never
use.
Other financial concerns about owning a spa deal with maintenance and the cost of upkeep. Granted,
owning a spa means that you will have to keep a ready stock of chemicals. But if you keep up with
keeping your spa clean and checking the chemical levels, you will only need to use a minimal amount
of chemical to keep everything in tip top shape. In fact, you can get a complete spa chemical starter kit
complete with testing supplies for about $40.
Another area where you will need to spend money if you buy a home spa is on spa equipment. Again,
these purchases will be minimal and can be spread out over the course of time. $20 here and $20 there
will help you build up your spa equipment inventory in no time. You can also save money here by
opting for manual tools instead of automated tools.
You can expect energy costs of about $7 per week for an average sized spa if you use your home spa
for an hour each day. You can reduce these costs by using a spa cover or thermal cover and by only
using the jets when you are in the spa. Reducing the temperature setting by 3 degrees also adds up to a
great deal of savings.
The bottom line is this: You could realistically have a spa for $100 to $125 per month if you don’t have
any money saved right now. If financing isn’t an option, you can quickly and easily save up for your
dream spa. Simply put back $50 per week and you could be sitting pretty in your home spa this time
next year.
Anti-Aging Tips for Baby Boomers in Retirement
Many baby boomers in retirement are becoming more and more concerned with their health needs.
Aging has become a reality, so they must take steps to improve or maintain good health and slow the
aging process.
According to a recent study by Herbal News Magazine, baby boomers born between 1948 and 1953
evaluated their general health more poorly than their elders, based on a similar study conducted in
1992.
Perhaps this happened because the Baby Boom generation was generally less physically active than
their elders had been, both at home and at work. Less physical activity and poor eating habits have led
to many cases of diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure among baby boomers.
Fortunately, it's not too late for baby boomers to become pro-active in their own physical well-being.
These anti-aging and health tips can help.
Use Herbs to Supplement Diet
Herbs have been around since the earth's beginnings and can often be found in seasoning and spices we
use, plants, many organic foods, and herbal supplements. With the onslaught of pharmaceutical
companies and modern medicine, herb use for anti-aging and good health dwindled for a while. But
now, baby boomers are realizing the many benefits of holistic health and that herbs offer an affordable
alternative to many prescription or over-the-counter drugs.
Some popular herbs for enhanced health and anti-aging include oregano, alfalfa, wheat germ,
Echinacea root, fenugreek, arginine, witch hazel, cinnamon, cardamom, dill, peppermint, thyme,
ginseng, ginger, rosemary, black pepper, green tea, cat's claw, and many others. Ginger, for instance, is
an antioxidant that helps cleanse the colon, stimulate circulation, and reduce spasms and cramps. It also
helps reduce hot flashes and indigestion.
Alfalfa detoxifies the body and works as a natural diuretic, hormonal balancer, and cholesterol reducer.
Cinnamon enhances the metabolism to help with weight loss, and it is recommended for fungal
infections, digestive problems, diabetes, yeast infection, and other ailments. The list of herbs available
today goes on and on.
Baby boomers in retirement can see a holistic doctor or one that specializes in homeopathy to discover
herbs or alternative medicines that will work best for them.
Natural Healing
Another way baby boomers can improve health and prolong the aging process is through natural
methods and remedies for healing. The "ancients" often turned to natural remedies for healing because
they didn't have a doctor's office or local hospital nearby.
Today, many people turn to drugs, which only treat the symptoms, not the problem. Though some
diseases and sicknesses do require pharmaceutical drugs, there are many conditions that could possibly
be healed naturally. Natural healing is available for many ailments including colds and congestion,
back or neck pain, stress and tension, headaches, circulatory problems, and others.
There are several natural healing methods. Acupuncture is a Chinese therapy in which fine needles are
used to unblock energy in the body so the healing process can take place naturally. Chiropractic
methods include re-aligning or adjusting skeletal systems in the body to help the body release
blockages and heal itself.
Cranial sacral is the process of adjusting or aligning the bones of the skull to help with headaches,
chronic pain, joint syndrome, or injuries to the head or spine. Massaging is a natural healing method in
which the hands are used to gently release stress and tension through motion and pressure on certain
muscles. Other natural healing methods include Rolfing, Shiatsu, reflexology, and the healing touch.
Choose All-Natural Beauty Products over Chemically-Based Products
Chemically-based beauty products might work wonders at enhancing beauty for now, but long-term use
can actually speed up the aging process. Some products that promise beauty might actually dry or
damage the skin, damage hair, and cause pre-mature wrinkles.
Luckily, there are many organic beauty products available in lotions, shampoos, make-up, bath oils, and
soaps to help skin stay beautiful and to reduce signs of aging. These are made of natural ingredients
instead of dangerous toxins that can be absorbed into the body through the skin.
Physical Activity, Healthy Eating, and Relaxation
Three other key factors to good health for baby boomers are physical activity, healthy eating, and
relaxation. Baby boomers in retirement can still be active doing the things they love such as walking or
jogging, riding a bike, gardening, traveling and sight-seeing.
Also, they can eat healthier by choosing foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals. Finding a way to
relax each day is also important for good health. A soothing bath in natural bath oil, reading a book,
spending time outdoors on a swing... all these offer time to relax and clear the mind of the day's
stressful activities.
These methods have helped many people, but a doctor should be seen with any serious illness. Herbs
and alternative medicines are not automatic cure-alls, but are meant to enhance health and help the
body heal itself of minor illnesses.
Baby boomers in retirement don't have to stand by and watch their health go downhill. The Internet is a
great resource to get started and research different herbs and their health benefits. It's time to take
action with these natural health and antiaging tips!
Baby Boomers Ultimate Anti- Aging Concepts
Many of us “Baby Boomers” are each beginning to feel our age, and we’re starting to live it too. Every
morning, clock radios everywhere announce the start of another day. As a typical boomer rolls out of
bed, an old ache, pain, and/or little worry makes its presence known, just like the day before. The same
beverage -- coffee, tea, or maybe even caffeinated soda -- is ingested in an attempt to energize the
same tired face reflected in the morning mirror.
By the time we hit our 50’s, we may have feelings that our lives are not as they could be. Yes, there are
pills, and many varieties of the “quick fix”’ (also called the “Life Makeover”) -- everything from
creams to diets and Bo-tox injections, perfect-sounding and easy “fountains of youth,” for ourselves.
Let’s face it , most of us are looking for ways to slow the ticking of our biological clocks.
I’m here to tell you that in order to really slow that clock down, we must get “radical” in our approach
to controlling our processes; getting radical means that we can, in the words of Star Trek character Jean
Luc Picard, “make it so”. We can literally make our own clocks tick more slowly.
Getting radical is a process that occurs within ourselves. First of all, it’s the power of our intentions
and the measure of our wills. It’s saying to ourselves -- with conviction -- “I want this to be!” Next,
it’s believing, strongly, that we can! When we commit ourselves to these beliefs, we are then capable
of achieving many remarkable accomplishments of mind and body. All we have to do is to challenge
ourselves and our perceptions of who we are.
The five radical tips follow:
1. Firewalking: How does walking on fire relate to youthing? An art that’s been practiced in many
cultures for thousands of years, firewalking is about mind/body transformation. Its goal is to”
question” the laws of nature. The experience becomes a powerful metaphor for anti-aging -- which I
refer to as youthing -- and it’s a very radical way of challenging ourselves to stretch beyond what we
think is possible. I have participated in dozens of firewalks, and the experiences taught me more about
myself, and about questioning nature’s laws as they applied to me, than I’d ever thought possible. Oh
-- and I walked on fire.
2. Breathwork. This is a simple yet profound yogic breathing technique that has a cleansing and
healing effect at all levels of our awareness -- physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental. It’s the
quickest method available that can aid us in healing from previous traumas, negative belief systems,
and unwanted “baggage” that many of us unconsciously carry around with us.
3. Fasting. As I write this, I have just completed a four-day fast. (How could I talk my talk
without walking it?) Fasting is perhaps the most powerful tip for youthing. Many of us, especially in
the U.S., literally eat ourselves to death. Note: there are many types of fasts and many reasons for
fasting. It’s wise to check with your health care practitioner before fasting.
4. Physical Immortality. Now here is an idea whose time has arrived. Let’s imagine this concept:
“Life without death is pure life.” When we do this, we’re unraveling our personal death urge, which
dwells somewhere inside us in that place where pain, aging, and negativity also dwell. While I realize
this is a radical idea, relax. We really don’t have to buy into this idea; in order to let the concept work
its magic, we just need to be open to it.
5. Hypnosis. As Deepak Chopra has written in AGELESS BODY TIMELESS MIND: ”Aging
seems to be something that’s happening to you, when in fact it is something your body has largely
learned to do. It has learned to carry out the programming fed into it by you, the programmer”
(Harmony Books, 1993).
Hypnotherapy is simple, very effective, and can be fun, depending on its purpose; and whether a
hypnotherapy session is done in person or by phone, it sets the stage for stretching beyond set
limitations.
Hypnosis is the art of placing the conscious self in a state of heightened suggestibility. During this time
the unconscious self is very open to change and can literally set aside any limiting beliefs that may
have been interfering with one’s ability to change.
It’s a proven fact that our bodies are constantly creating new and healthy cells to replace old and
damaged ones, and every new cell gets its “replacing” instructions from the DNA contained in the old
cell. So, it stands to reason that if our DNA programs our new cells with the healthiest and youngest
information possible as a blueprint for development, the body’s cell memories will change.
This process is called “Cell Transformation”. The question arises: Can hypnosis really be a powerful
tool to us in order to literally tell our bodies cells to be younger? From my experience, I believe the
answer is yes.
My conclusion is that over 14 million hits on Google for “mind/body connection” can’t be wrong.
From my own personal experience I am pleased to report that indeed my quest for youth is paying off.
Now at the “calendar” age of 55, except for a few silver hairs I both look and feel not much over 35
years young.

How to Introduce Healthy Food to Your Family
A simple and very effective solution how to introduce healthy food to your family
If 10 years ago somebody would have told me that fruits are very healthy....... Healthy for everyday's
eating as an excellent source of vitamins.... And even necessary - eating fruits is A MUST as a natural
medicine for human body.... I would have replied: "Yes, indeed! I know this very well! I love fruits and
eat fruits every day!"
But with age (as early as after 25 y.o.) I began to develop problems of health: BIG problems - that
brought with them many troubles, sleepless nights and worrying headaches. As well as small problems
that obviously decrease my work productivity, made me less outgoing and rip me off for many hours of
enjoying the good state of physical health when everything was OK.
In general, all these health problems took lots of my time and money... Until I realised the simply secret
that......... Even during all my adult life, I never developed a well-deserved appreciation as well as
correct attitude towards fruits and vegetables. I am not afraid to name the reason bluntly - usually it is
a lack of knowledge and lack of understanding.
Only then I understood that in reality I used to take fruits 'for granted'. That time the benefit of my
'eating fruits' was diminished to the very minimum as I eat only 1-2 fruits per day, usually after lunch
or at breakfast time.
If I happened to become hungry in between meals or on my way to work, home etc, I would rather
prefer to have a light snack of a sandwich or a roll, but definitely not fruit. While it is the FRUITS that
MUST be eaten on empty stomach - to derive more benefit as fruits are recommended to eaten
separately without other food.
If.... If earlier I would have been told that I don't use fruits for sustaining my good health, I would've
replied angrily "No, what do you mean! Indeed I use fruits! But my life- style is very busy, lots of hard
work, endless stresses and, on top of all, poor ecology. These all affect my health very negatively. And
can fruits do anything about that????!"
But now, looking to past, I must and I will admit: "Fruits and vegetables CAN dramatically change
one's health. Especially if one knows HOW, WHEN AND WHAT TO USE for a particular health
problem.....
In conclusion, the major reason of “Not going GREEN” and therefore, not benefitting enough from the
Nature’s generous treasures is still hidden in the LACK of correct presentation of this valuable
information!
Then even if parents don’t value these blessings of mother-nature, then how can one blame children for
refusing to eat these Nature’s treasures while even those who want to lead a healthy life style, don’t
have a full picture of WHAT vegetables and fruits can do to one’s body and mind!
Even if we have a basic picture such as: “carrot is good for eye-sight, oranges – to boost immune
system, watermelon provides excellent cleansing effect”, still, in order to convince not only somebody
but even yourself, we have to get more useful information. And, usually, this “info” comes in a form of
boring statistic facts or dull, grey nutrition tables.
Stop! Please, stop for a moment! Don’t you understand that even you and I, like any other adult of any
age, won’t pay sufficient (enough) attention to any information if it presented in a such ‘mind-numbing’
(dreary, uninteresting) form. This is not the method to encourage, rather on the contrary, it is a highly
effective and quicker way to make somebody bored!
Nevertheless, then what to say about young children and their tiny inquisitive minds, whose learning
skills performance is best when powered by bright, colourful associations and sharp fantasy-world
imagination.
No doubt, anyone will agree with me, no matter what age we are, we all would prefer to read text that
are combined with attractive, eye-catching images! That’s why the skill of colour-science is an
independent science. And so many interesting books, research papers, scientific proof and related
articles are dedicated to colours’ physiological effect on people’s mind.
Also, the second emphasis is on how the reading material is presented. Do not generalize, but
personalize.
It is no longer a secret that the best, TOP read articles (with highest popularity and read coefficient) in
magazines, newspapers etc. are stories with a main character i.e. a narration, with main hero, with
sequential unwinding of a story: with a beginning, intervening occurrences and culmination, even if
this is just a short narration about an event or product. If any readable material is interlinked with an
individual and his/her personal experiences, it is always easier to read, easier to accept and easier to
remember. That’s why we always read testimonials, as they come from somebody and are put in simple
words that’s easy to digest.
As for myself, until the age of 30 I never showed much interest towards vegetables and, I am ashamed
to say, even some fruits. And it is not that I wasn’t aware of healthy eating, of ‘greens’ benefits – indeed
I heard and read now and then about it, but it didn’t create that bright image in my memory that would
lead me on and be my ‘guiding star’ in my and my family’s eating plan (schedule).
Luckily enough, on my 30-th birthday I received not only best wishes and E-cards, but among
numerous emails there was an unusual email from one of my friends. It contained a large juicy image
of a pineapple, and a link with the unusual words
Healthy Birthday! A gift for your that hidden in... pineapples!??
The link leads to an article, actually more correctly, to an entertaining story about pineapples.
In a light form this story tells about a mother and her little son. And, at the same time, it is a very
informative conception about benefits of pineapples (and fruits in general) that convey information to
the HEART of the reader. This method not just narrates, it ensures that the one who reads (or listens to)
will ABSORB, HEAR and REMEMBER the important information about this story!
Simple words make their way to the reader’s mind and heart, creating in his/her conscious ‘live’ images
of a little sickly boy, his concerned mother and a deliciously juicy pineapple. The story also has a moral
(and even business-minded) value as it concludes on a brief note that this little boy decided to help
other people to stay healthy, and when he grew up, he became a medical scientist and businessman – he
started a unique fruit-vegetables shop in his small town.
…To continue my own path to Healthy Food…
Being inspired by this first touch of this new approach and introduction to fruits and vegetables to the
Mind and Heart, I was very excited to read the next story from the same book. Then the following, then
all other stories which were available to be read online on the website (stories from the new book that
is available in bookstore at amazon: The Storyteller’s guide to health food).
I can remember, the second story was about beetroot (again a very unique fairytale-like story about 3
sisters - beetroot of different types, but with lots of information, tips and even recipes). The third story
was on watermelon. That particular story I happened to read in summer and this time I read it aloud to
my friends because I wanted to check what their reactions would be. The effect can talk for itself – my
friends’ appreciation towards watermelon and, of course, later towards all fruits and vegetables
increased immensely. Moreover, they enthusiastically copied the story and shared it with their family,
loved ones and even with neighbors.
No need to say that acquaintance with this brilliant ideas and innovative method exposed in these
wonderful books of the project KindBook became a turning point not only in my life, but in life of my
family and friends. Moreover, gradually and steadily it opened a new door in the lives of all those who
are concerned about health and the value of healthy food.
If you are about to make your first step in HEALING yourself and HEALING our planet: leave those
‘boring’ %-tables for later! Firstly try to kindle in people a flame of interest in Nature’s gifts to
humanity! Heal yourself, then Heal others. With this unique approach make them enthusiastic to
increase their energy, productivity and health! And to teach our future generation how to be the best
citizens of our Planet Earth: kind, healthy, successful!
And, last but not least! Remember the GOLDEN RULE: the more goodness you bring into the lives of
others, the more goodness will come back to you!
Let me wish all of you what I wish for myself and my family - BEST HEALTH!
Women and Childbirth
In today's society, women are often looked up to as strong individuals that play an important role in and
around their community.
They contribute to numerous functions; from household maintenance and house chores to business and
career development, as well as their personal interests like reading, exercise, and shopping, just to
name a few. In addition to these contributions, women also play an important role in humanity by
serving as birth-givers --- special people who make possible the continuity of the human race.
By bringing into the world healthy offspring... nurturing them with love and care...they become the
centers for ensuring biological health, emotional development, and cultural education which are so
necessary to ensure the future of each and every child.
As a woman, feeling good and healthy inside and out is equally necessary for her own health and self-
development. With this in mind, it is important to understand and be informed about woman's health.
Men differ from women in a number of ways, especially with regards to health and fitness.
Oftentimes, women require more medical attention than men since most female human beings
normally give birth at least once in their lifetime. Unlike men, women are more inclined to feel other
ailments, and not just during a high-risk pregnancy.
During the time of their pregnancy, a woman's health is so important since any health problem may
cause several complications. These complications, in turn, might affect the health of the woman and
her baby. Proper attention and medication is a must.
But after pregnancy, the woman should still look out for her health since this is a time for both her and
the baby to recuperate from the physical trauma of childbirth --- whether it was a normal delivery or via
C-Section.
Most mothers also want to remove the extra pounds they gained during the pregnancy and regain their
good looks and physical fitness. Of course, adding a few extra pounds is considered to be normal when
expecting a child. Surely, women are now more open to the use of weight loss pills to avoid looking fat
and “ugly” after childbirth.
Looking at some celebrities, for example, they can easily influence some women in society to stay slim
and sexy even after childbirth. By staying on a strict diet, coupled with lots of exercise and even self
help books, women can attain or regain their beauty and health.
But those who find it hard to lose weight may opt to use weight loss pills. After giving birth, it is
essential for a woman to regain her health. A woman's health is significant to her family, herself, and
her well-being.
A woman should feel good about herself; be happy with her newborn; and go back to her former self
with ease and comfort, if possible, without the use of weight loss pills. A woman should not think of
what others think of them. Rather, a woman should think of her own good and the good of their
newborn child.
It is a fact that ideas are based on the expectations and demands of society. But a woman should be true
and individualistic if she truly wants to fund liberty and happiness. After giving birth, a woman should
consider her baby's health, her proper diet, and yes, even new shoes for the baby.
Indeed, women and childbirth are inseparable facts of human life that even men should know about
and appreciate.
Keeping Oral Health of Children
Oral hygiene is very important in children as poor oral hygiene may lead to poor health and other kind
of dental diseases. The cavities and gum diseases not only affect the physical appearance of a person,
but also lead to serious health problems such as insomnia, stroke and even hearing defects.
It has been found from the studies that the poor oral care can contribute to the clogging of the arteries,
problem of the lungs and even can damage the heart valves.
This might be seen when an expectant woman having gum disease, makes a pre-mature deliver or the
baby is very much in weight etc.
Hence, it is very necessary to start a regular and good dental regime at the early age during childhood
to avoid health problems and diseases at a later stage. For taking proper care of the teeth the child
should be taught how to brush, clean and floss the teeth properly.
Ways to keep the child’s oral health in pink:
To keep the oral health at its prime, the child should follow all the fundamental steps recommended by
almost all the dentists. This avoids the incidence of dental problems like gingivitis, halitosis, tartar and
gum diseases.
Apart from proper brushing, the other hygienic methods like the right method of flossing and using the
mouthwash have to be taught. The American Dental Association even advises the parents of a new
born to start cleaning their newborn child’s mouth within few days after birth. It is very important for
the clarity of speech and chewing action in the kids.
Parents of young children schedule regular oral health checkups around the first birthday of the kid. A
pediatric dentist should be ideal choice for children. The baby’s gums and teeth can be wiped with a
wet washcloth after each meal to help removing plaque that gets accumulated on the gums and teeth.
Soft bristle toothbrushes with pea sized fluoridated toothpaste can be used to brush the teeth. Also the
children should be taught to spit the toothpaste at a very early age and until then the children should use
toothpaste without fluorine. Till the kids are good and comfortable doing flossing and brushing, the
parents should assist the children.
The children should be fed with calcium rich foods and supplements along with a good oral hygiene to
maintain good oral health of children.
The children can be encouraged to brush by changing the color and appearance of toothpastes. Most of
the children do like to brush with a fluoride toothpaste but they should be able to spit after brushing.
Also, the children need to brush twice a day.
Eating snacks made of sugar and carbohydrates needs to be avoided if not at least the teeth should be
brushed properly after eating them. It is a good idea to eat nutrition rich food like vegetable, fruits etc
instead of sugar candies as they both provide the required nutrition and also strengthens the teeth due to
the chewing action.
Steps to Ending Bad Eating Habits
A client wrote, "Help me! I thought I was finally getting a handle on my weight issue but the sugar is
killing me. I had an awful day. I won't even tell you what I ate today because it is just so unbelievable.
All I will say is that 90% of my food today consisted of sugar! I really, really need some help getting
past these cravings. I am no doubt a sugar addict. If I could get past this there is no doubt that I will
reach my goal."
If you see a little of yourself in this message, you're not alone. Many describe themselves as sugar
addicts. They believe if it were only for that one thing, then they could reach their weight loss goals. If
you believe only one thing stands in your way of losing weight, consider this: What if that one thing
(an addiction to sugar for instance) were gone? Do you really believe, "If I could get past this, there is
no doubt that I will reach my goal," or is it an easy excuse to stay stuck?
If I told you I could show you a way to stop craving sugar, would you want me to show you how?
Think about that for a moment. Close your eyes and really think it through. You've said if only you
didn't crave sugar, then you could lose weight, but is that really true for you?
Ask yourself these questions:
- Would you eat differently, and if so how?
- Would you act differently, and if so how?
- What else would change, and what would stay the same?
- What would you lose?
- What would you gain?
Until you know what you want, know you can achieve it, and know what else will change (i.e. how
your life may be different), you can't discover any obstacles that first must be considered. For instance,
you may want to stop eating anything after 7 PM yet your husband doesn't come home from work until
8 and he wants you to join him for dinner. That's an obstacle.
If you've got a habit of watching your favorite TV show with a bowl of ice cream, then breaking that
habit is another obstacle.
If you don't work out ways to overcome your obstacles perhaps through discussion and compromise
with your husband, or habit breaking exercises for your ice cream habit, there's bound to be a problem.
Just saying you're not going to do something any mroe rarely works. Instead determine what might
stand in the way of achieving your goals, find a way around them, and you're much more likely to
actually achieve those goals once and for all.
The statement, "if this one thing were handled, then everything else would fall into place" is an "If
Then" statement and gets people into trouble. They want a fairy godmother to make it all better. A
strong belief that one single thing such as, "eating sugar is my problem," sets you up to fail, especially
if you really like eating sugary foods.
Getting a handle on your cravings is not an all-or-nothing proposition. You must leave room for
occasional deviations. It's not the occasional side trip that causes weight trouble, it's the road we
usually travel.
In NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) a good starting point is the exercise called Establishing a Well
Formed Outcome. "Well formed" means it meets all criteria of a well thought-out end result.
NLP: How to Create a Well Formed Outcome & Get What You Want
Here are the steps to creating a well formed outcome:
1) State what you want (not what you do not want). "I want to weigh 135 pounds."
2) Determine whether you can achieve it (do you believe it is possible?).
3) What resources do you have and what do you need (time, money, gear, clothes, equipment, coaching,
whatever).
4) Check whether anyone else is involved and any potential obstacles that may come up regarding
others. Think of everyone involved in your day-to-day life.
5) Picture yourself "as if" you've obtained what you say you want and see if that picture fits. Do you
like what you see?
6) Put together a plan of action for the achievement of your outcome.
While it may seem like a lot of effort simply to decide what you really want, going through these steps
at the beginning helps you find potential obstacles which previously stopped you from moving forward.
For example, if you decide you want to join a gym and start exercising every day but you've forgotten
you don't even own a car and just lost your job, that exercise plan might not work out right now.
If you did join a gym, you'd end up not going and then you'd think you'd failed, yet it was the plan that
failed, not you. You didn't think it through.
A better plan in this instance may be doing exercises at home, or within walking distance (or simply
walking for exercise). Later, when you do have transportation, you can rethink the plan and perhaps
join a gym then. There are always options.
It's better to look at what you want from every angle, then put together a plan you know can and will
work. Then when you know what you want, you'll also know you can make it happen and begin by
taking that first step toward making it a reality.
"Achieving a Well Formed Outcome" is one of the sessions in the Ending Emotional Eating 8-Week
Workshop. You can also find more information on this popular and well known NLP process by
searching for "NLP Well Formed Outcome" in your favorite search engine.
A Guide To General Female Health
A number of novels and stories of the early 18th and 19th centuries often portray women as mad and
irrational beings, thus, espousing the creation of mad women literature. But, modern medicine dispels
this "mad" attribute. By establishing that women's hormones are more sensitive and susceptible to
change than that of men, more attention is given to female health.
Menstruation, menopause, PMS, and perimenopause - these are all part and parcel of general health
topics related to women. Aside from that similarity of being part of female health, these phenomena are
due to one thing: hormonal changes.
Hormones are fickle, they change with the slightest variation in diets or physical activity. Sometimes
even emotional upheavals are enough to make women's hormones go haywire. Researchers on female
health come up with studies on the relationship of female psycho-emotional well-being and their
physical health. More often than not, hormones are the established links between this relationship.
Hormonal imbalances are the usual culprits for a number of health disorders in women. Although some
of the symptoms are associated with other illnesses, their root remains to be unbalanced hormones. As
varied as general health topics are, they range from physical manifestations to psychological and
emotional troubles.
Physical manifestations of hormonal imbalances include fatigue, weakness, weight gain, weight loss,
digestive problems, hot flashes, and joint pain. Other symptoms are more pronounced and less
insidious like hair loss and dry skin. Unfortunately, with the demands of career and family life, women
often ignore these symptoms as merely due to excess work and overall tiredness. Some attempt to cure
their symptoms with remedies and rest that do not work.
Hormonal imbalances need medical attention and hormonal supplements to be treated properly.
Otherwise, symptoms grow worse with heart palpitations, increased nausea, urinary dysfunction, breast
pain, and vaginal dryness. Extreme cases even include changes in menstrual periods with the affected
person either suffering from extended periods and bleeding or have total absence of periods.
If the symptoms and conditions above are bad enough, they are just the hormonal imbalances' physical
aspect. Usually cropping up as manifestations of other psychological disorders, the psycho-emotional
aspect of these imbalances are often disruptive. There are documented cases wherein afflicted persons
confess of being unable to function at their normal level because of the symptoms.
Some of the minor symptoms include cravings and mood swings. However, if the symptoms do not
receive treatment, they progress to worse conditions like lack of sexual desire, depression, insomnia,
and unclear reasoning. It's no wonder that general health topics and concerns about women often
include well-being exercises.
But, these imbalances are not permanent afflictions. With proper diet, exercise, supplements, and
counseling, women are able to get their hormones back on track. However, early detection is a key
factor in treating hormonal imbalances. It is therefore important not to dismiss the symptoms as just
belonging to general health topics or issues. Hormonal imbalances are not just topics -- they are real,
and they happen to more women everyday.
Importance of Health Reproductive Woman
A healthy life always leads to happiness and prosperity. Health is the weapon that keeps a human
going on in his regular activities and functions. Reproductive health is an important part of general
health that needs universal concern.
It is very important for women during their reproductive years because health many reproductive health
related problems arise during this period. Any failures in living a healthy reproductive life shall lead to
different sexual diseases and other deficiencies that could also cause a risk to the life of a woman.
Why Health reproductive woman?
Women reproductive health is important because women have many reproductive health problems that
have added up in the number of maternal mortality rate. Women have great complications during
pregnancy and childbirth. They are more open to risks while preventing unintended pregnancies, unsafe
abortions, reproductive tract infections and burden of contraception.
What are important health factors?
There are situations where a woman bears the risk of infertility, contraception and many other
infections caused through sexual intercourse and practices. Fertility is the stage where a woman
conceives after fertilization of a male sperm and female ova. Infertility is whereby a woman is unable
to conceive as ovulation fails even after a sexual intercourse. Irregular menstrual periods or absence of
menstrual cycles among women causes such ovulatory dysfunctions.
What are sexually transmitted diseases?
Sexually transmitted diseases (STD) are found both in men and women but women are the major
victims of such diseases whereby they get infections in the reproductive tracts. Commonly found
STD’s are Bacterial Vaginosis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis, HIV (Aids), Human papillomavirus
Infection, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, Syphilis, Genital herpes and Trichomoniasis.
1. Bacterial Vaginosis is a vaginal infection caused in women leading to a bad smelling discharge. It
also causes itching around the vagina or burning sensation while urination.
2. Chlamydia is a STD causing irreversible damage to reproductive organs even leading to infertility. It
is a silent disease caused by the infection of cervix (opening to the womb) and the urethra and can
spread to the rectum. Burning sensation or discharge while urination is the common symptoms found
among women.
3. Gonorrhea is a disease caused by the growth of bacteria in the moist areas of reproductive tract
normally cervix, uterus, urethra and fallopian tubes among women. Symptoms are burning sensation
while urination, vaginal discharge or vaginal bleeding during menstrual cycles.
4. Hepatitis is a disease caused by a virus called hepatitis that attacks the liver and blood organs of the
body.
5. HIV is mostly caused STD because of unsafe sex practices and is the worst of all the sexually
transmitted diseases.
6. Genital Human papillomavirus Infection HPV infection is caused due to infection in the genital areas
among women like the vagina, cervix in the form of soft, moist, pink, or flesh-colored swellings.
7. Pelvic inflammatory disease is another infection caused among women in the uterus, fallopian tubes
and other reproductive organs.
8. Syphilis has many symptoms that could be least distinguished from other diseases. Symptoms are
sores, skin rashes, fever, weight loss, muscle aches, swollen lymph glands, sore throat, patchy hair loss,
headaches and fatigue.
9. Trichomoniasis is commonly found among women lead by green-yellow odor vaginal discharge.
This causes discomfort during urination and intercourse and sometimes lower abdominal pain.
10. Genital Herpes is caused by a virus and symptoms are sores, swollen glands, fever and flu like
infections.
Natural Toothache Remedies
Not many people are aware of the fact that several herbs can be used in the relief of toothache pain.
Natural herbs such as cloves, calendula, tarragon, and yarrow can be used to help relieve th pain until
you can get to the dentist. For many years, different cultures have counted on herbs to help get the pain
of a toothache control and get temporary relief.
Native Americans for example, used the inner bark found in the butternut tree to their gums to get relief
from toothaches. The butternut tree is found in North America, and is also the cousin of the black
walnut tree. Butternut trees are found along rivers in well drained soil, rich woods, and even in back
yards.
Once the tree matures, it can reach heights of up to 60 feet, with the bark being light grey in color, and
the leaves and the fruit resembling the black walnut tree. The bark of the tree can be applied to the
gums, helping to alleviate toothache pain.
Yarrow on the other hand, can be found in Asia, Europe, and North America. It normally grows wild in
meadows, fields, and in open wood lands. The root of yarrow, is what contains the anaesthetic effect.
If you apply the fresh root of yarrow to your tooth or gums, it will help to stop the pain - until you can
get an appointment with the dentist and get it taken care of.
The herb known as clove is an evergreen tree, native to tropical areas. These days however, it can be
found throughout the world. As many already know, the dried flower bud of clove is what contains the
medicine. The oil from clove, when used on a toothache, will help to stop the pain almost
immediately. If you compare cloves to other natural toothache remedies, you’ll find clove to be the
best.
For many years, natural herbs have been used to stop toothache pain. Hundreds of years ago, herbs
were the only way to stop the pain. Dentists were just starting to come around, although they didn’t
have near the equipment and sophistication that they have these days. Even though teeth were pulled
during these times, it normally happened with alcohol to numb the pain then pliers to remove the tooth.
Throughout the course of time, herbs have proven to be very effective with stopping toothache pain. If
you are interested in herbs or have any questions about them, you shouldn’t hesitate to ask your dentist
his opinion.
Dentists know herbs, and should be able to recommend natural remedies to you if you request them.
The next time you experience the pain of a toothache - you should always remember that herbs are a

Relief From Migraine Headaches
Migraine headaches affect millions of individuals around the world. They are extremely painful and
hard to bear. Migraines can last anywhere from one hour to three or four days. Within that time, it may
literally be impossible for migraine suffers to function properly. Although relief might not come right
away, there are many options available that soothe or cure migraine headaches.
A migraine is classified as a serve headache that can often impair one’s judgment. When a migraine
occurs, suffers regularly experience the following symptoms:
Headache
Dizziness
Nausea
difficulty seeing
It is not uncommon for migrane suffers to be unable to look at lights or the sun without suffering
intense pain. Migrane headache may be brought on by a variety of things. Children and adults are
susceptible to migraines, and they often happen unexpectedly. Migraines can be brought on by stress,
certain foods, a poor eating habits, or hormones. Migraine headaches are also hereditary, therefore,
there are many families may experience migraine headaches at the same time.
The best way to get relief from migraine headaches is by speaking to your physician. If you suspect
that you are suffering from migraines, you most likely are, however, many treatment options must first
be prescribed by a healthcare professional. There are physicians who specialize in migraines and other
head related pains, however, your family physician can often diagnose and offer treatment options for
receiving relief from migraine headaches.
Over the counter pain killers are the best available option for getting quick relief from migraine
headaches without visiting a physician. Aspirin, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen are common over-the-
counter drug medications that are available at most drug or department stores, and they can normally be
purchased at a fairly low price. If you regularly suffer from migraine headaches, it may be a good idea
to have some of this medication on hand.
There are even over the counter medications designed specifically for relief from migraine headaches.
It is important to remember that an excessive dosage of these over-the-counter drugs can cause liver or
stomach damage.
They relieve, but do not cure, your migraine headaches, nor do they prevent them from returning. Over-
the-counter medications offer temporary relief for your migraine headaches, often until you have been
properly examined and treated by a physician.
One of the easiest ways to receive relief from migraine headaches is by sleeping. Although it will not
eliminate your pain, rest and relaxation is an effective way to help minimize or reduce the excruciating

order your thoughts and to reduce your stress levels. Sleeping or resting may offer much needed pain
relief from migraine headaches.

that you contact your physician. Beta blockers, along with other medications, offer quick relief from
migraine headaches, however, they are only available with a prescription.
If you experience migraines, do not suffer any longer than you need to. Contact your physician or
healthcare professional for effective ways to receive relief from your migraine headaches.
Diet Suggestions For Lowering Cholesterol Levels
We all have cholesterol whether we like it or not as it plays an important role in our bodies. However,
having high cholesterol is not good and should be lowered. Regardless of how we get it, lowering high
cholesterol is always a good idea. We get cholesterol in two ways, through our body and mainly the
liver.
Every day, our bodies produce amounts of cholesterol that we don’t need. Animal foods like eggs,
poultry, meat, seafood and milk contain a lot of cholesterol, which add to the levels we produce
naturally.
The safest foods are vegetables, seeds, nuts and fruits, as these do not encourage further production of
cholesterol.
Lowering cholesterol requires finding the right diet for you and sticking to it. The main source for
cholesterol is saturated fatty acids. This makes your blood cholesterol rise abruptly and could cause
heart disease. Trans fat also contributes to raising your blood cholesterol level. But diet can beat it all.
The American Heart Association has recommended that the limit for your daily cholesterol should be
no more that 300 milligrams. If your diet is maintained properly you will dramatically lower your
cholesterol.
Diet plays a vital role in lowering cholesterol. Choosing your food is the best way to start. Choose
foods that contain low saturated fat. Saturated fat can be found in foods from animals, such as poultry,
meat, lard and vegetable oils like palm oil, coconut and palm kernel.
The best diet would be choosing foods which are low in saturated fat. The solution to this is choosing
foods that are rich in fiber such as vegetables, fruits and grains. They do not add cholesterol to your
body but they help you maintain a healthy diet. Choose the foods that are low in cholesterol.
Did you know that the dietary cholesterol can still raise your blood cholesterol level? The answer is
yes, although it is not that high in saturated fat
Avoid foods that come from animals. These types of foods are the richest in saturated fat and they are
not recommended for high daily intake.
You can supplement your diet with the help of lecithin. This is helpful and it contains phosphatidyl
choline which is able to increase the solubility of the cholesterol in your body and allows the fatty
deposits in your bloodstream to break down.
Your diet should be absolutely free from oily foods, which only contain minimal amounts of fatty acid.
Choose foods that are rich in omega-3 and omega-6. This is important in normalizing your blood
cholesterol level and can help you maintain good health. Increasing your dietary fiber can be very
helpful because it can neutralize the excess bile acids in the bowel. Eat fiber rich foods instead of
greasy foods.
Observing this diet is a must because your cholesterol is something you should maintain and watch out
for in order to stay healthy, fit, and free from heart disease. Lowering cholesterol can be observed and
achieved by choosing the foods you eat.
If you are suffering with high cholesterol, you should consult your primary care physician first before
making any changes in your diet.
Natural Care And Treatment For Endometriosis
Endometriosis is one of the main reasons for female infertility. It affects nearly 5 to 10 per cent women
and can occur anytime from the beginning of the menstrual period till the menopause period. In rare
cases it may appear even after the menopause. You can be affected even after hysterectomy surgery or
menopause due to the estrogen replacement therapy or continuous hormones production after the
menopause.
In this condition, endometrial tissue that lines the inside of the uterus, grows outside the uterus to latch
itself on other organs such as ovaries, fallopian tubes or the ligaments which supports the uterus. This
tissue responds to the monthly cycle hormones which causes a bleeding without any passage to exit.
This causes inflammation and scarring of the tissue, one of the causes for infertility in women.
Home Remedies for Endometriosis
Have ginger tea it alleviates the endometriosis symptoms of nausea.
A regular workout regime goes a long way. It is one of the recommended things to do, during your
crisis with endometriosis. Exercising helps you deal with the pain as it makes it lot lesser.
Increase you immunity by consuming fresh fruits and vegetables which are known to be rich in
vitamins. Vitamin C increases the immunity level so have vegetables and fruits like broccoli, red bell
peppers, oranges, strawberries and cantaloupe.
Eat fish that too mackerel, herring and sardine which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. The omega-3
suppresses prostaglandin production which is the main reason for cramping.
Even though it is not scientifically proven but caffeine as well as smoking can aggravate
endometriosis problem.
You can use heat or cold therapy to beat endometriosis. By having hot beverages or by keeping a
heating pad on the abdomen it can bring relief from the abdominal pain and cramping. Or you can tie
an ice pack in towel which is placed on your lower abdomen.
Lose excess weight as it decreases estrogen level and would also help in improving the symptoms of
endometriosis.
Sitz bath is recommended for this problem. Sitz bath is a warm bath taken in a sitting position that
covers only your hips and buttocks, looks as if you are sitting on a chair. Sit for three minutes in a tub
filled with hot water and then sit in another tub with cold water for one minute. This cycle is repeated
three times and should be avoided during menstruation.
Acupressure helps in relieving pain caused due to endometriosis. When the pain starts press the area
on the inside of your leg about two inches above your ankle bone. Press with your thumb to locate the
spot that feels tender. Another area is to press is the web of your hand. Press at the base where the
bones of your thumb and index finger meet. If there is no pain while pressing, it is the wrong spot. If it
hurts just keep pressing till you feel relief in the pelvic area.

Allergy Management Guidelines
These days of increasing pollution levels mean that more and more people are becoming victims of a
variety of allergens, which are the various substances that cause an allergic reaction. These can be
anything from a certain type of food coloring to pet dander or even a certain chemical that is present in
seafood.
There are also more and more children being born with allergies, so there is an all-over rise in the
incidence of allergies. Given the impact that allergies can have on a person’s life, there are a variety of
devices available that can help to decrease the advent of certain allergens in a specific environment.
This has helped make the lives of many people who have severe allergies a lot easier and raised their
quality of life.
There are, however, no methods of curing allergies and therefore the best measure that can be taken is
to create an environment where the occurrence of the allergens is greatly reduced. The severity of the
allergy also has a bearing on what measures must be taken to ensure that there are no allergens present
in a given environment.
For example, if the allergen is contained in food then especially stringent measures must be taken to
ensure that none is mixed with other food, since the worst type of allergy reactions tend to be when
somebody swallows something that contains the allergen.
The worst allergic reaction is when a person goes into anaphylactic shock, which can lead to death if
not treated in time. Even if the allergy is not as severe as that, there is still the everyday discomfort that
will lower the quality of life for anyone who has to live with this.
The type and severity of the allergy will be the determining steps when deciding what steps need to be
taken to ensure that person suffering from the allergy is kept out of harms way. The simplest step is to
avoid the source of the allergens, but in some cases this may well be impossible.
One of the most common allergies is stated as being allergic to “dust”, this is however a misconception.
There are very few people who are actually allergic to dust, but there are a very large portion of people
who are allergic to dust mites and their excretions.
These dust mites are commonly found in household dust, pet dander and feathers. There are very few
people that can create an environment that is completely free of these allergens without going to
massive expense. There are however products available that can decrease the amount of these allergens
in the immediate environment, particularly in the bed room.
There are products available that can decrease the occurrence of allergens that commonly occur in the
home. These can help to return the standard of living for those with mild allergies to that of those who
do not suffer from allergies.
These products can also help those who suffer from severe allergies, but are unlikely to completely
eliminate the source of the allergy, depending on what exactly the source is. The biggest aid to those
with severe allergies is a constant supply of anti-histamines. The products will help to stop the further
aggravation of the allergic reactions.
Alternative Medicines Vs Conventional Medicines
There are many choices when looking for alternative medicines. Today, more people are turning to
these alternatives for their treatments than ever before. These types of medicines provide a different
approach than conventional medicine in health care systems and practices.
What is Alternative Medicine?
Some examples of alternative medicine are chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, homeopathy,
osteopathy, and naturopathy. Although you may be unfamiliar with these treatments, there are people
all over the world successfully using them.
In several ways, alternative medicine offers a different outlook on healthcare than conventional
medicine. The usual treatments are surgery, chemotherapy, antibiotics and other types of drugs;
however, there is growing evidence and awareness that alternative treatments can be less costly, less
invasive, and sometimes safer than well-known conventional treatments.
A Higher Stand of Health
The goal of alternative medicine is a higher standard of health, not just the absence of disease. For
many years, individuals were given a clean bill of health without considering their emotional, spiritual
or social needs. Alternative medicine considers the health and well being of the person by evaluating
the physical, emotional and psychological makeup and needs. The patient is examined as a person and
not just a number or case. Patients are encouraged to participate in decisions instead of being a passive
subject.
Healing the Body
Conventional medicine has typically treated and removed symptoms as quickly as possible. Sometimes
the results are dramatic and immediate with traditional surgeries and medicines. Sometimes, however,
this creates other physical problems. The alternative is to help the body heal itself.
By using less dramatic treatment, the body is given a chance to work through its own healing therapy.
Instead of synthetic medicines, the use of whole foods, herbs, homeopathic and nutritional supplements
are utilized. The results may take longer but in the end the body will be healthier. True healing can
occur in this way, increasing the chances that the symptoms will not return.
Finding an Alternative Professional
If you are planning to consult an alternative professional for a specific need, it is recommended that
you consult with a medical doctor or osteopathic physician to get a diagnosis. They go through
extensive training in diagnosing illnesses and diseases.
This step could lead you to the correct treatment and avoid confusion. After you have had your exam
and diagnosis, ask for the recommended treatment. Then look for an alternative treatment that may be
easier on your body and possibly more effective.
There are different ways to find a practitioner. One of the most helpful is to get referrals from family
and friends, your doctor, or other health care providers. Also use the resources at the library, the
Internet, and medical information organizations.
When you have a list of referrals, begin to gather information on the professionals. Ask for literature,
find out how long they have been practicing, and what practices they use. Check to see if your
insurance policy will cover their fees and what will be expected from you.
Having a Consultation
Be prepared when you consult with the professional. Describe your symptoms or condition clearly. Be
sure to include a complete medical history. Explain what you have learned about alternative treatments.
Listen carefully to the suggested treatment and ask questions to make sure you understand. Ask what
the benefits will be from this therapy. Find out how long the treatment will take and if you should
expect side effects.
Making a Choice
Did he answer your questions and make you comfortable? Is the treatment acceptable to you? Now you
can decide if this practitioner is right for you.
Before you choose alternative medicines, take the steps necessary to ensure you are treating the
problem, not just the symptoms. You'll soon discover the long-term benefits of alternative medicines.
How To Get Rid Of Toxic Black Mold
Mold exposure does not always present a health problem indoors. However some people are sensitive
to molds. These people may experience symptoms such as nasal stuffiness, eye irritation, wheezing, or
skin irritation when exposed to molds. Some people may have more severe reactions to molds.
Severe reactions may occur among workers exposed to large amounts of molds in occupational
settings, such as farmers working around moldy hay. Severe reactions may include fever and shortness
of breath.
Immunocompromised persons and persons with chronic lung diseases like COPD are at increased risk
for opportunistic infections and may develop fungal infections in their lungs.
How to Remove Molds?
In most cases mold can be removed from hard surfaces by a thorough cleaning with commercial
products, soap and water, or a bleach solution of 1 cup of bleach in 1 gallon of water. Absorbent or
porous materials like ceiling tiles, drywall, and carpet may have to be thrown away if they become
moldy.
If you have an extensive amount of mold and you do not think you can manage the cleanup on your
own, you may want to contact a professional who has experience in cleaning mold in buildings and
homes.
It is important to properly clean and dry the area as you can still have an allergic reaction to parts of the
dead mold and mold contamination may recur if there is still a source of moisture.
If you choose to use bleach to clean up mold:
1. Never mix bleach with ammonia. Mixing bleach and ammonia can produce dangerous, toxic fumes.
2. Open windows and doors to provide fresh air.
3. Wear non-porous gloves and protective eye wear.
4. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions when using bleach or any other cleaning product.
Specific Recommendations to prevent Mold:
1. Keep humidity level in house between 40% and 60%.
2. Use air conditioner or a dehumidifier during humid months.
3. Be sure the home has adequate ventilation, including exhaust fans in kitchen and bathrooms.
4. Use mold inhibitors which can be added to paints.
5. Clean bathroom with mold-killing products.
6. Do not carpet bathrooms.
7. Remove and replace flooded carpets.
Toxic mold spores can become airborne during the cleaning. Before cleanup begins, the affected area
should be contained and HVAC systems should be shut down to prevent the spores from spreading.
Each area affected by mold should be separately contained. Use plastic sheeting and duct tape to seal
doorways, vents, and other openings.
Where possible, place an exhaust fan in a window that is open to the outdoors to direct air flow and
mold spores outside.
To limit health risks and reduce the spread of mold spores ensure dust levels are kept to a minimum.
Air purifiers and /or Ionizers can be used to minimize airborne particulate.
How To Get Rid Of Home Termites
According to the National Pest Management Association, termites destroy more homes each year than
fires or floods. Annual damage estimates: $2.5 billion.
"Unless you live in Alaska, where it gets very cold, your home is at risk," says Bayer Advanced -
entomologist and Head of Product Innovation Dr. Ken Kukorowski.
Termites are attracted to houses because houses often contain two major food ingredients for termites-
wood and water. They digest cellulose in wood for energy and require moisture to keep from drying up.
It's possible to have a very serious termite problem without even knowing it since evidence of termites
is often hidden, such as mud tunnels or other signs that may be out of view.
"Think about where the wood in your house is located," says Kukorowski. "It's behind your walls and
mostly 'out of view.'" Subterranean termites, including Formosan termites, can enter a house from the
ground or from aerial infestations but the termites attacking your home will be connected eventually to
the ground or another source of moisture in the house (water leak, condensation).
Preventing easy access to your home is a key defense against termites:
Fix plumbing and roof leaks.
Divert water at least 18 inches away from your house with properly functioning downspouts, gutters
and splash blocks.
Keep firewood at least 10 feet away from the foundation of your home.
Do not let mulch or soil touch siding on your home. Better yet, keep it about a foot away.
Eliminate all "wood/ground" contact near your home, except if the wood is pressure treated,
permitted for soil contact.
Seal foundation cracks (to help prevent moisture from entering).
Hire a professional to conduct an annual inspection.

  • 6. Beauty Guide on How to Get Rid Acne Many people are wondering if there acne solutions that really work, or if it simply is impossible to completely cure it. If you are plagued by acne this may be a question that you have asked too. There are acne solutions that really work and this article will give you some ideas of what you can try so you will be able to find some acne solutions that really work. Detoxification is one way to help with acne. Detoxification is probably the best way to get rid of acne quick for around the 90% of acne sufferers out there. Detoxification removes excessive toxins in the body and improves the immune system, as well as regulates the secretion of oil to your skin. These three are some of the most acne-causing factors and through detoxification you are able to tackle them head on. Some other good tips on detoxification include: 1. Drink more pure water 2. Exercise more. 3. Fasting 4. Eat more fruits and vegetables with lots of fibers. Remember that one of the best natural methods is adopting an anti-acne diet. That's because food is one of the main causes of acne. There are countless other natural treatments for acne available out there. They are all helpful. Black mud soap is also one of these treatments and has proven to be effective for many people. Thermal treatment for acne has minimal side effects and can be used to cure pimples fast. Zeno acne clearing device is a thermal device which is very easy to use and brings about fast results. It is most effective for pustules and furuncles in their very early stage. When you see a red bump on your face, immediately treat it by using Zeno and it will not turn into a pus-filled pimple that looks ugly. There are a variety of factors that influence acne. Women will often experience bouts of it with their menstrual cycle, stress can cause flare ups, and it is much recognized that the heat and subsequent sweating that occur in the summertime can cause a severe case of acne to go wild. All of these factors are addressed, and solutions for them explained so that everyone can enjoy clean, clear skin. While this may sound like thousands of other products, the clinical trials of the Acne No More system speak for themselves. It had a one hundred percent success rate in its test subjects, and since then has shown continued success in the general public regardless of race, gender, or the location and severity of the acne infection. This is unmatched by any other treatment plan on the market.
  • 7. Natural Ways For Hair Removal It is one of the commonest problems faced by many women. Men can get away by shaving their beard, moustache and cutting their hair. For women it is not that simple. There are some common measures which every woman must have tried in her lifetime. Waxing: It is one of the easiest and convenient ways to deal with your hair. It may be painful in the beginning but this method goes a long way. The hair growth after waxing is comparatively slower in comparison to shaving. It also keeps your waxed legs and hands smooth and supple. You can make this wax in the luxury of your very home. Homemade wax Use two cups of sugar, one fourth cup of water and one fourth cup of lemon juice. Heat a pan and pour all the mentioned ingredients in it. Heat this over a low flame and keep stirring till it’s melted. You will get a thick brown liquid which can be used once slightly cool. Before you start waxing check it on you finger for consistency as well as the temperature. Before applying this mixture with a butter knife, cool it by blowing air over it. Use a clean cloth or any waxing strip; pull it in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Once done, apply ice as well as astringent over the area to tighten the pores. Sugaring is a very old method of hair removal. With change in time this technique of hair removal is back in fashion. Its popularity has increased tremendously. You can try this recipe by using one cup sugar, juice of half a lemon, one fourth cup honey, Molasses, very little and cornstarch. Mix lemon, sugar, molasses and honey in bowl and heat it in the microwave for 2-4 minutes to get a smooth consistency. You can do the same by keeping it on the gas on a low flame. Dust the area with cornstarch before applying the mixture. This helps in smooth removal of the hair. Use the same procedure like waxing by using the strips. Tweezing is another method for removing facial hair by using tweezers. It is a painstaking as well as time consuming job. Usually used for bushy eyebrows. Tweezing eventually stops your hair growth by the continuous pricking even though it may take lot of time. Threading one of the most common and known method of hair removal used on any part of your body. This form of hair removal is used for upper lips, chin, eyebrows or any little patch which hasn’t been taken care while waxing. It requires detail and attention. It is very useful for people with sensitive skin. It is the twirling of the cotton threads which removes the hair for that perfect look. You can naturally bleach your hair with lemon juice and chamomile tea. One should not use lemon juice undiluted so you can mix honey with lemon juice. You can also use pumice stone to remove excess hair on everyplace other than your face. Warning: The reader of this article should exercise all precautionary measures while following instructions on the home remedies from this article. Avoid using any of these products if you are allergic to it. The responsibility lies with the reader and not with the site or the writer. Vitamins That Help With Hair Growth Loss of hair, or baldness, is the result of not having enough vitamin B supplements. Vitamin B is very important, as it contains B3 niacin, which is very important for growing hair. Vitamin B6 is another important vitamin, containing nutrients such as sulfur, biotin, magnesium, and zinc.
  • 8. Without these vitamins, your body won’t be able to grow hair as much, which commonly results in balding or hair loss as we get older. What many people fail to realize, is the importance of vitamin B. Research has shown in the past that vitamin B is very important to hair growth. Men who consume foods that are rich in vitamin B are less likely to experience hair loss. Vitamin B is an essential vitamin, and also one that enriches the overall quality and thickness of hair. Vitamin A is also important with hair growth. To get the proper amount of vitamin A, you should consume fatty acids. Some examples include flaxseed oil, primrose, and salmon oil. If you consume these types of fatty acids, you’ll get the right amount of vitamin A that is needed to enhance the growth of your hair. If you are worried about hair loss, you should make sure that you are getting enough vitamin A and vitamin B. Vitamin E is also important for hair growth, as it stimulates your intake of oxygen and helps to improve your blood circulation as well. If your blood is circulating properly, then the growth of your hair will be enhanced. The proper circulation of blood is very important with hair growth, as the blood is what helps your hair to grow, and the necessary vitamins to flow through your body. Another necessary vitamin for hair growth is biotin. You can find this essential source in rice, green peas, soybeans, oats, yeast, walnuts, and sunflower seeds. It is also found with some types of shampoos as well. If you are using shampoo that contains biotin, you’ll be getting into your root tips faster, which will help to promote the growth of your hair. Even though you may be using shampoo that contains biotin, you’ll still need to take the necessary vitamins and supplements as well. Before you take any vitamins or supplements, you should always consult with your doctor and get his opinion. There may be some vitamins and supplements that you shouldn’t be taking, which is why you should always consult with your doctor before you make any decision. Your doctor will be able to run tests and go through your history with you, letting you know what you can and can’t take. This way, you can choose your vitamin supplements accordingly – and know without a doubt that there will be no long term side effects or problems. Home Treatments for Stretch Marks Stretch marks (striae) are relatively common, even in males. It is not completely understood how they form, but there are several theories. One is that stretch marks form simply when the skin is stretched to the point of breaking and a scar is formed. Another interesting theory is that stretch marks are caused by an increased level of glucocorticoids (cortisol). Glucocorticoids prevent connective tissues from forming the collagen and elastin fibers need to keep the skin tight, and dermal layer then tears. Some people may be more genetically prone to stretch marks than others. Skin type may be a factor; dryer skin has less elasticity than oily skin, and is more prone to stretch marks. Treating Stretch Marks There are several extra steps you can take for the reduction of your stretch marks. Consider your skin care regimen, and fine-tune it to meet the needs of skin that is damaged, requires cellular repair and the stimulation of collagen and elastin production. Nutrition: An adequate amount of water, vitamins E, C, selenium, and alpha lipoic acid, as well as enough monounsaturated fats (olive oil) and gamma lineolic acid (borage oil) are vital for keeping your skin strong and healthy and able to repair itself.
  • 9. The basic treatment for the reduction of the appearance of scars is to regularly 1) remove the overgrown scar tissue with brisk exfoliation and then 2) encourage the regrowth of normal tissues with use of nutrients and conditioners. If stretch marks have formed because of weight gain, reducing bodyfat stores (losing weight) can help reduce the appearance of stretch marks by releasing pressure from the skin. Exfoliation: Stretch marks are similar to scars, there can be either a build up of scar tissue, which results in a raised stretch mark, or tearing and obvious depressions in the skin. Stretch marks respond well to vigorous exfoliation with both mechanical and chemical means. Your goal is to break down the malformed collagen and have it slough off, while new, properly constructed collagen and skin cells are formed below. You may wish to perform at least a light exfoliation on the stretch marks on a daily basis. You can use a massage tool to improve the breakdown of scar tissues. Applying alpha hydroxy peel products, such as retinol, glycolic or lactic acid, has shown to be effective for the improvement of stretch marks. Protection: After exfoliating, apply antioxidant formulas with A, E, C, and alpha lipoic acids to protect the new skin cells from damage. If skin is to be exposed to the sun, apply a sunscreen to prevent further breakdown of newly formed skin cells. Moisturizer: After exfoliating skin and applying antioxidants, moisturize the area thoroughly. If you are prone to stretch marks, remember to moisturize your body skin daily to avoid developing more stretch marks with weight changes. Aloe Vera should be used to improve skin microcirculation, followed by a layer of lipid-based cream or lotion. Other Treatments: - Sleep: Get plenty of sleep to help your skin regenerate. - Milk Bath: You can soak your entire body with softening lactic acid by adding a cup or two of skin milk powder to your bath and soaking for 15 to 20 minutes several times a week. For extra enjoyment, add a few drops of your favorite scent to the bath. Rinse the milk bath off under the shower, but do not use soap. If you’re sweaty or dirty, take a quick shower with a mild soap before your milk bath. Moisturize your body skin thoroughly afterwards. - You can prepare your own tinctures and creams, or look for commercial products that contain ingredients known to improve the appearance of stretch marks. - The following nutrients may be helpful in the treatment of stretch marks: Natural Internal Treatments for Stretch Marks - Vitamin C - Borage Oil - Alpha Lipoic Acid - Copper - CoQ10 - Flax Seed Oil - Horsetail - MSM - Palm Oil
  • 10. Natural External Treatments for Stretch Marks - Natural Exfoliation Agents - Apricot kernal scrub - Bromelain - Dead Sea Salts - Dessicated Milk Powder (lactic acid) - Papain - Rolled Oats - Sea Salt - Brown Sugar (glycolic acid) - White Willow Bark, ground (salicylic acid) - Vitamin A Oil Natural External Rejuvenation Agents - Almond Oil - Aloe Vera Gel - Alpha Lipoic Acid - Borage Oil - Boxthorn herb - Bergamot - Sea Buchthorn - Clary Sage - Grape Seed Extract - Comfrey Herb - Safflower Oil - Rosemary Herb - Coconut Oil - Sunflower & Safflower Oil - Vitamin E & Vitamin A oil - Squalene Oil Remember that the reduction of stretch marks is a two step process. First, the malformed collagen cells must be broken down by mechanical or chemical means. Secondly the new underlying skin layers must be encouraged to grow properly and with proper nutrition and hydration. With a little diligent effort, the appearance of stretch marks can be reduced and improved. How To Give A Back Massage With fast paced lives and the continuous chase to meet deadlines, the tired mind and body tends to seek out for a stress buster. People bogged down by stress find it affecting not only their minds but their bodies as well. Massage helps you eliminate stress to bring about a relaxed you. It is a relaxing experience by artistic hand strokes on the body to rejuvenate the mind and body and eliminate stress scientifically.
  • 11. To give a back massage, follow these steps: Ask the person to lie face & belly down on flat surface with his/her head turned to one side. Avoid straining your back when you giving a massage. Stand or kneel beside the lying person Start off gently by spreading oil over the entire back, so that your hands dont' stick to the massage receiver’s back. Begin with light strokes at the base of the neck. Move your hands on the either side of the spine, applying gentle pressure. Rub up and down the length and sides of the back. Repeating this several times starts the relaxation process. Apply the fleshy part of your thumbs to the shoulder blades on either side of the spine at mid back. Move up to the base of the neck by applying small outward strokes. Apply pressure away from the spine. After the warm up, move to the spots that feel tight or hard under your hand. Again with the fleshy part of your thumb, work in small circles. Adjust the pressure accordingly to serving the purpose of relaxation. This will loosen up the tight spots. Next pay full attention to the shoulder area. Place your palm on one of the shoulder blades, shaking it gently by moving your palm back and forth. This will create a nice loose movement of the shoulder blade and arm. Repeat on the other side. Next move to the bottom of the shoulder blade, near the spine. With your thumb, push all the way across the shoulder blade from the spine applying pressure suitably. Cover the entire shoulder area with the horizontal stroke. Switch to other side and repeat. Knead gently in small circular motions with the fleshy part of your fingers the tender spots along the top of the shoulder and collar bone. Use the heel of the hands to apply pressure down the sides of the spine, starting from upper shoulder and moving down to the lower back. Apply soothing finishing strokes by gently rubbing your hands up the center of the back on either side of the spine and down the sides of the back. Beginners Guide To Aromatherapy When you smell something nice, such as an appealing perfume, or a tasty dish being cooked in the kitchen, or fresh cut roses set in a vase full of cold water, does not the smell give you a good feeling inside? These good feelings created by pleasing aromas are the basis for the art of aromatherapy. People who practice aromatherapy believe that the scents that a person smells can induce the body to stimulate its ability to heal itself. Depending on the kind of scent or combination of scents that was inhaled or absorbed through the skin, the scent activates the immune system of the body, making it more capable of fighting invading microorganisms that cause disease and boosting its strength. To make the body heal and become more resistant to illness, practitioners of aromatherapy make use of essential oils. These essential oils are extracted from aromatic plants. They often find uses in the making of scented candles, perfume, soap and other beauty products. Essential oils are very volatile – they evaporate easily and they are easily absorbed into the skin. Practitioners of aromatherapy, however, never use essential oils undiluted because these oils are highly concentrated. They can burn and irritate the skin if they come into direct contact with it.
  • 12. Essential oils are always mixed with what are called carrier oils before they are used. What, now, are carrier oils? Simply put, they are vegetable oils, extracted from certain kinds of fruits, nuts and vegetables. They are called carrier oils because they literally carry the essential oil when mixed and applied onto the skin. Practitioners of aromatherapy believe that each kind of essential oil and each kind of carrier oil have their own properties and characteristics. To treat a specific ailment, a specific combination of essential oils and carrier oils need to be used. The mixture is then massaged onto the skin or added to bathwater. Sometimes, it is put into an air diffuser. Below are the most commonly used essential oils and carrier oils, as well as the properties that each possess and the ailments for which they are used. Essential oils: Chamomile. Chamomile can help in easing pain so the body can relax. It is also good for soothing the skin. Chamomile is often used for people suffering from nervous tension, headaches caused by fatigue, and an upset stomach. It can also be used for treating skin problems like acne and boils. Eucalyptus. Eucalyptus refreshes as well as relieves congestion and pain. So, it is used for colds, sinusitis and other respiratory problems. It is also applied to aching muscles and joints affected by rheumatism. Lavender. For ailments such as rheumatism and muscle tension as well as skin problems like acne and dandruff, lavender is often used. Lavender can help soothe and relax the body as well as enhance the circulation of the blood. Lavender is also applied to people suffering from insomnia. Lemon. The citrus in lemon is refreshing and can provide relief from congestion and pain. This is why it is also used for treating headaches and migraine. It is also good for treating stomach problems, and it is also claimed to have the ability to reduce the appearance of cellulite on the skin. Rose. The rose is great for the skin. It is often applied to skin that is dry, delicate or sensitive, making it softer and smoother. The scent of the rose can also aid in relaxing the body, so it is also used for treating headaches, stress and insomnia. Carrier oils Almond. Almond oil is good for the skin because it has Vitamin D and can help moisturize dry skin. It is a popular kind of carrier oil because the skin can easily absorb it. Apricot. Apricot oil is a light kind of carrier oil that is rich in Vitamin A. Practitioners of aromatherapy love to use apricot oil because it arrests the skin’s aging process and helps revitalize the skin. Grapeseed. Grapeseed oil is the most commonly used carrier oil among practitioners of aromatherapy because it is the least expensive. Also, because it is light, it can be used on people with oily skin without clogging the pores. Jojoba. Jojoba oil is another type of carrier oil that is good for people with oily skin. It has the ability to break down excess sebum, which causes pimples and dandruff. Moreover, jojoba has Vitamin E, a kind of vitamin that helps the skin maintain its youth. Sesame. Sesame oil is a kind of carrier oil that is known for its nutty smell, but it has great antiseptic properties. It is effective in treating fungal infections, skin infections and light wounds. Aromatherapy is a nice way of treating the body's hurts and pains, if only because the oils used in aromatherapy smell great.
  • 13. How Affordable Are Home Spas? If you’re like most, you dream of one day coming home to your very own spa. You envision a world where you can leave the stressors of the day far behind and relax in peace and contentment until the telephone rings or the kids demand their dinner. Well, what can I say? Reality has a way of creeping into every dream. As you can imagine, home spas can be found with a wide range of prices and options. A basic spa will cost you about $2,000, but you could easily spend $6,000 or more on a spa with extra features. If you want a spa that will clean itself and be warm and ready when you get home, you can expect to spend an additional $1,000 to $3,000 for the remote control system that will make it possible. If you think you can’t afford price tags like these, never fear! You can finance it. Right now, it is possible to finance a spa for as little as $50 to $100 a month. Of course, you could spend a great deal more than that if you purchase the more expensive model. But if price is of major concern, keep in mind that an inexpensive spa will likely be just as relaxing as an expensive one. You should also consider the fact that you could get a lot of features with a more expensive model that you may never use. Other financial concerns about owning a spa deal with maintenance and the cost of upkeep. Granted, owning a spa means that you will have to keep a ready stock of chemicals. But if you keep up with keeping your spa clean and checking the chemical levels, you will only need to use a minimal amount of chemical to keep everything in tip top shape. In fact, you can get a complete spa chemical starter kit complete with testing supplies for about $40. Another area where you will need to spend money if you buy a home spa is on spa equipment. Again, these purchases will be minimal and can be spread out over the course of time. $20 here and $20 there will help you build up your spa equipment inventory in no time. You can also save money here by opting for manual tools instead of automated tools. You can expect energy costs of about $7 per week for an average sized spa if you use your home spa for an hour each day. You can reduce these costs by using a spa cover or thermal cover and by only using the jets when you are in the spa. Reducing the temperature setting by 3 degrees also adds up to a great deal of savings. The bottom line is this: You could realistically have a spa for $100 to $125 per month if you don’t have any money saved right now. If financing isn’t an option, you can quickly and easily save up for your dream spa. Simply put back $50 per week and you could be sitting pretty in your home spa this time next year. Anti-Aging Tips for Baby Boomers in Retirement Many baby boomers in retirement are becoming more and more concerned with their health needs. Aging has become a reality, so they must take steps to improve or maintain good health and slow the aging process. According to a recent study by Herbal News Magazine, baby boomers born between 1948 and 1953 evaluated their general health more poorly than their elders, based on a similar study conducted in 1992. Perhaps this happened because the Baby Boom generation was generally less physically active than their elders had been, both at home and at work. Less physical activity and poor eating habits have led to many cases of diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure among baby boomers.
  • 14. Fortunately, it's not too late for baby boomers to become pro-active in their own physical well-being. These anti-aging and health tips can help. Use Herbs to Supplement Diet Herbs have been around since the earth's beginnings and can often be found in seasoning and spices we use, plants, many organic foods, and herbal supplements. With the onslaught of pharmaceutical companies and modern medicine, herb use for anti-aging and good health dwindled for a while. But now, baby boomers are realizing the many benefits of holistic health and that herbs offer an affordable alternative to many prescription or over-the-counter drugs. Some popular herbs for enhanced health and anti-aging include oregano, alfalfa, wheat germ, Echinacea root, fenugreek, arginine, witch hazel, cinnamon, cardamom, dill, peppermint, thyme, ginseng, ginger, rosemary, black pepper, green tea, cat's claw, and many others. Ginger, for instance, is an antioxidant that helps cleanse the colon, stimulate circulation, and reduce spasms and cramps. It also helps reduce hot flashes and indigestion. Alfalfa detoxifies the body and works as a natural diuretic, hormonal balancer, and cholesterol reducer. Cinnamon enhances the metabolism to help with weight loss, and it is recommended for fungal infections, digestive problems, diabetes, yeast infection, and other ailments. The list of herbs available today goes on and on. Baby boomers in retirement can see a holistic doctor or one that specializes in homeopathy to discover herbs or alternative medicines that will work best for them. Natural Healing Another way baby boomers can improve health and prolong the aging process is through natural methods and remedies for healing. The "ancients" often turned to natural remedies for healing because they didn't have a doctor's office or local hospital nearby. Today, many people turn to drugs, which only treat the symptoms, not the problem. Though some diseases and sicknesses do require pharmaceutical drugs, there are many conditions that could possibly be healed naturally. Natural healing is available for many ailments including colds and congestion, back or neck pain, stress and tension, headaches, circulatory problems, and others. There are several natural healing methods. Acupuncture is a Chinese therapy in which fine needles are used to unblock energy in the body so the healing process can take place naturally. Chiropractic methods include re-aligning or adjusting skeletal systems in the body to help the body release blockages and heal itself. Cranial sacral is the process of adjusting or aligning the bones of the skull to help with headaches, chronic pain, joint syndrome, or injuries to the head or spine. Massaging is a natural healing method in which the hands are used to gently release stress and tension through motion and pressure on certain muscles. Other natural healing methods include Rolfing, Shiatsu, reflexology, and the healing touch. Choose All-Natural Beauty Products over Chemically-Based Products Chemically-based beauty products might work wonders at enhancing beauty for now, but long-term use can actually speed up the aging process. Some products that promise beauty might actually dry or damage the skin, damage hair, and cause pre-mature wrinkles. Luckily, there are many organic beauty products available in lotions, shampoos, make-up, bath oils, and soaps to help skin stay beautiful and to reduce signs of aging. These are made of natural ingredients instead of dangerous toxins that can be absorbed into the body through the skin.
  • 15. Physical Activity, Healthy Eating, and Relaxation Three other key factors to good health for baby boomers are physical activity, healthy eating, and relaxation. Baby boomers in retirement can still be active doing the things they love such as walking or jogging, riding a bike, gardening, traveling and sight-seeing. Also, they can eat healthier by choosing foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals. Finding a way to relax each day is also important for good health. A soothing bath in natural bath oil, reading a book, spending time outdoors on a swing... all these offer time to relax and clear the mind of the day's stressful activities. These methods have helped many people, but a doctor should be seen with any serious illness. Herbs and alternative medicines are not automatic cure-alls, but are meant to enhance health and help the body heal itself of minor illnesses. Baby boomers in retirement don't have to stand by and watch their health go downhill. The Internet is a great resource to get started and research different herbs and their health benefits. It's time to take action with these natural health and antiaging tips! Baby Boomers Ultimate Anti- Aging Concepts Many of us “Baby Boomers” are each beginning to feel our age, and we’re starting to live it too. Every morning, clock radios everywhere announce the start of another day. As a typical boomer rolls out of bed, an old ache, pain, and/or little worry makes its presence known, just like the day before. The same beverage -- coffee, tea, or maybe even caffeinated soda -- is ingested in an attempt to energize the same tired face reflected in the morning mirror. By the time we hit our 50’s, we may have feelings that our lives are not as they could be. Yes, there are pills, and many varieties of the “quick fix”’ (also called the “Life Makeover”) -- everything from creams to diets and Bo-tox injections, perfect-sounding and easy “fountains of youth,” for ourselves. Let’s face it , most of us are looking for ways to slow the ticking of our biological clocks. I’m here to tell you that in order to really slow that clock down, we must get “radical” in our approach to controlling our processes; getting radical means that we can, in the words of Star Trek character Jean Luc Picard, “make it so”. We can literally make our own clocks tick more slowly. Getting radical is a process that occurs within ourselves. First of all, it’s the power of our intentions and the measure of our wills. It’s saying to ourselves -- with conviction -- “I want this to be!” Next, it’s believing, strongly, that we can! When we commit ourselves to these beliefs, we are then capable of achieving many remarkable accomplishments of mind and body. All we have to do is to challenge ourselves and our perceptions of who we are. The five radical tips follow: 1. Firewalking: How does walking on fire relate to youthing? An art that’s been practiced in many cultures for thousands of years, firewalking is about mind/body transformation. Its goal is to” question” the laws of nature. The experience becomes a powerful metaphor for anti-aging -- which I refer to as youthing -- and it’s a very radical way of challenging ourselves to stretch beyond what we think is possible. I have participated in dozens of firewalks, and the experiences taught me more about myself, and about questioning nature’s laws as they applied to me, than I’d ever thought possible. Oh -- and I walked on fire.
  • 16. 2. Breathwork. This is a simple yet profound yogic breathing technique that has a cleansing and healing effect at all levels of our awareness -- physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental. It’s the quickest method available that can aid us in healing from previous traumas, negative belief systems, and unwanted “baggage” that many of us unconsciously carry around with us. 3. Fasting. As I write this, I have just completed a four-day fast. (How could I talk my talk without walking it?) Fasting is perhaps the most powerful tip for youthing. Many of us, especially in the U.S., literally eat ourselves to death. Note: there are many types of fasts and many reasons for fasting. It’s wise to check with your health care practitioner before fasting. 4. Physical Immortality. Now here is an idea whose time has arrived. Let’s imagine this concept: “Life without death is pure life.” When we do this, we’re unraveling our personal death urge, which dwells somewhere inside us in that place where pain, aging, and negativity also dwell. While I realize this is a radical idea, relax. We really don’t have to buy into this idea; in order to let the concept work its magic, we just need to be open to it. 5. Hypnosis. As Deepak Chopra has written in AGELESS BODY TIMELESS MIND: ”Aging seems to be something that’s happening to you, when in fact it is something your body has largely learned to do. It has learned to carry out the programming fed into it by you, the programmer” (Harmony Books, 1993). Hypnotherapy is simple, very effective, and can be fun, depending on its purpose; and whether a hypnotherapy session is done in person or by phone, it sets the stage for stretching beyond set limitations. Hypnosis is the art of placing the conscious self in a state of heightened suggestibility. During this time the unconscious self is very open to change and can literally set aside any limiting beliefs that may have been interfering with one’s ability to change. It’s a proven fact that our bodies are constantly creating new and healthy cells to replace old and damaged ones, and every new cell gets its “replacing” instructions from the DNA contained in the old cell. So, it stands to reason that if our DNA programs our new cells with the healthiest and youngest information possible as a blueprint for development, the body’s cell memories will change. This process is called “Cell Transformation”. The question arises: Can hypnosis really be a powerful tool to us in order to literally tell our bodies cells to be younger? From my experience, I believe the answer is yes. My conclusion is that over 14 million hits on Google for “mind/body connection” can’t be wrong. From my own personal experience I am pleased to report that indeed my quest for youth is paying off. Now at the “calendar” age of 55, except for a few silver hairs I both look and feel not much over 35 years young.
  • 17. Health How to Introduce Healthy Food to Your Family A simple and very effective solution how to introduce healthy food to your family If 10 years ago somebody would have told me that fruits are very healthy....... Healthy for everyday's eating as an excellent source of vitamins.... And even necessary - eating fruits is A MUST as a natural medicine for human body.... I would have replied: "Yes, indeed! I know this very well! I love fruits and eat fruits every day!" But with age (as early as after 25 y.o.) I began to develop problems of health: BIG problems - that brought with them many troubles, sleepless nights and worrying headaches. As well as small problems that obviously decrease my work productivity, made me less outgoing and rip me off for many hours of enjoying the good state of physical health when everything was OK. In general, all these health problems took lots of my time and money... Until I realised the simply secret that......... Even during all my adult life, I never developed a well-deserved appreciation as well as correct attitude towards fruits and vegetables. I am not afraid to name the reason bluntly - usually it is a lack of knowledge and lack of understanding. Only then I understood that in reality I used to take fruits 'for granted'. That time the benefit of my 'eating fruits' was diminished to the very minimum as I eat only 1-2 fruits per day, usually after lunch or at breakfast time. If I happened to become hungry in between meals or on my way to work, home etc, I would rather prefer to have a light snack of a sandwich or a roll, but definitely not fruit. While it is the FRUITS that MUST be eaten on empty stomach - to derive more benefit as fruits are recommended to eaten separately without other food. If.... If earlier I would have been told that I don't use fruits for sustaining my good health, I would've replied angrily "No, what do you mean! Indeed I use fruits! But my life- style is very busy, lots of hard work, endless stresses and, on top of all, poor ecology. These all affect my health very negatively. And can fruits do anything about that????!" But now, looking to past, I must and I will admit: "Fruits and vegetables CAN dramatically change one's health. Especially if one knows HOW, WHEN AND WHAT TO USE for a particular health problem.....
  • 18. In conclusion, the major reason of “Not going GREEN” and therefore, not benefitting enough from the Nature’s generous treasures is still hidden in the LACK of correct presentation of this valuable information! Then even if parents don’t value these blessings of mother-nature, then how can one blame children for refusing to eat these Nature’s treasures while even those who want to lead a healthy life style, don’t have a full picture of WHAT vegetables and fruits can do to one’s body and mind! Even if we have a basic picture such as: “carrot is good for eye-sight, oranges – to boost immune system, watermelon provides excellent cleansing effect”, still, in order to convince not only somebody but even yourself, we have to get more useful information. And, usually, this “info” comes in a form of boring statistic facts or dull, grey nutrition tables. Stop! Please, stop for a moment! Don’t you understand that even you and I, like any other adult of any age, won’t pay sufficient (enough) attention to any information if it presented in a such ‘mind-numbing’ (dreary, uninteresting) form. This is not the method to encourage, rather on the contrary, it is a highly effective and quicker way to make somebody bored! Nevertheless, then what to say about young children and their tiny inquisitive minds, whose learning skills performance is best when powered by bright, colourful associations and sharp fantasy-world imagination. No doubt, anyone will agree with me, no matter what age we are, we all would prefer to read text that are combined with attractive, eye-catching images! That’s why the skill of colour-science is an independent science. And so many interesting books, research papers, scientific proof and related articles are dedicated to colours’ physiological effect on people’s mind. Also, the second emphasis is on how the reading material is presented. Do not generalize, but personalize. It is no longer a secret that the best, TOP read articles (with highest popularity and read coefficient) in magazines, newspapers etc. are stories with a main character i.e. a narration, with main hero, with sequential unwinding of a story: with a beginning, intervening occurrences and culmination, even if this is just a short narration about an event or product. If any readable material is interlinked with an individual and his/her personal experiences, it is always easier to read, easier to accept and easier to remember. That’s why we always read testimonials, as they come from somebody and are put in simple words that’s easy to digest. As for myself, until the age of 30 I never showed much interest towards vegetables and, I am ashamed to say, even some fruits. And it is not that I wasn’t aware of healthy eating, of ‘greens’ benefits – indeed I heard and read now and then about it, but it didn’t create that bright image in my memory that would lead me on and be my ‘guiding star’ in my and my family’s eating plan (schedule). Luckily enough, on my 30-th birthday I received not only best wishes and E-cards, but among numerous emails there was an unusual email from one of my friends. It contained a large juicy image of a pineapple, and a link with the unusual words Healthy Birthday! A gift for your that hidden in... pineapples!?? The link leads to an article, actually more correctly, to an entertaining story about pineapples. In a light form this story tells about a mother and her little son. And, at the same time, it is a very informative conception about benefits of pineapples (and fruits in general) that convey information to the HEART of the reader. This method not just narrates, it ensures that the one who reads (or listens to) will ABSORB, HEAR and REMEMBER the important information about this story!
  • 19. Simple words make their way to the reader’s mind and heart, creating in his/her conscious ‘live’ images of a little sickly boy, his concerned mother and a deliciously juicy pineapple. The story also has a moral (and even business-minded) value as it concludes on a brief note that this little boy decided to help other people to stay healthy, and when he grew up, he became a medical scientist and businessman – he started a unique fruit-vegetables shop in his small town. …To continue my own path to Healthy Food… Being inspired by this first touch of this new approach and introduction to fruits and vegetables to the Mind and Heart, I was very excited to read the next story from the same book. Then the following, then all other stories which were available to be read online on the website (stories from the new book that is available in bookstore at amazon: The Storyteller’s guide to health food). I can remember, the second story was about beetroot (again a very unique fairytale-like story about 3 sisters - beetroot of different types, but with lots of information, tips and even recipes). The third story was on watermelon. That particular story I happened to read in summer and this time I read it aloud to my friends because I wanted to check what their reactions would be. The effect can talk for itself – my friends’ appreciation towards watermelon and, of course, later towards all fruits and vegetables increased immensely. Moreover, they enthusiastically copied the story and shared it with their family, loved ones and even with neighbors. No need to say that acquaintance with this brilliant ideas and innovative method exposed in these wonderful books of the project KindBook became a turning point not only in my life, but in life of my family and friends. Moreover, gradually and steadily it opened a new door in the lives of all those who are concerned about health and the value of healthy food. If you are about to make your first step in HEALING yourself and HEALING our planet: leave those ‘boring’ %-tables for later! Firstly try to kindle in people a flame of interest in Nature’s gifts to humanity! Heal yourself, then Heal others. With this unique approach make them enthusiastic to increase their energy, productivity and health! And to teach our future generation how to be the best citizens of our Planet Earth: kind, healthy, successful! And, last but not least! Remember the GOLDEN RULE: the more goodness you bring into the lives of others, the more goodness will come back to you! Let me wish all of you what I wish for myself and my family - BEST HEALTH! Women and Childbirth In today's society, women are often looked up to as strong individuals that play an important role in and around their community. They contribute to numerous functions; from household maintenance and house chores to business and career development, as well as their personal interests like reading, exercise, and shopping, just to name a few. In addition to these contributions, women also play an important role in humanity by serving as birth-givers --- special people who make possible the continuity of the human race. By bringing into the world healthy offspring... nurturing them with love and care...they become the centers for ensuring biological health, emotional development, and cultural education which are so necessary to ensure the future of each and every child. As a woman, feeling good and healthy inside and out is equally necessary for her own health and self- development. With this in mind, it is important to understand and be informed about woman's health. Men differ from women in a number of ways, especially with regards to health and fitness.
  • 20. Oftentimes, women require more medical attention than men since most female human beings normally give birth at least once in their lifetime. Unlike men, women are more inclined to feel other ailments, and not just during a high-risk pregnancy. During the time of their pregnancy, a woman's health is so important since any health problem may cause several complications. These complications, in turn, might affect the health of the woman and her baby. Proper attention and medication is a must. But after pregnancy, the woman should still look out for her health since this is a time for both her and the baby to recuperate from the physical trauma of childbirth --- whether it was a normal delivery or via C-Section. Most mothers also want to remove the extra pounds they gained during the pregnancy and regain their good looks and physical fitness. Of course, adding a few extra pounds is considered to be normal when expecting a child. Surely, women are now more open to the use of weight loss pills to avoid looking fat and “ugly” after childbirth. Looking at some celebrities, for example, they can easily influence some women in society to stay slim and sexy even after childbirth. By staying on a strict diet, coupled with lots of exercise and even self help books, women can attain or regain their beauty and health. But those who find it hard to lose weight may opt to use weight loss pills. After giving birth, it is essential for a woman to regain her health. A woman's health is significant to her family, herself, and her well-being. A woman should feel good about herself; be happy with her newborn; and go back to her former self with ease and comfort, if possible, without the use of weight loss pills. A woman should not think of what others think of them. Rather, a woman should think of her own good and the good of their newborn child. It is a fact that ideas are based on the expectations and demands of society. But a woman should be true and individualistic if she truly wants to fund liberty and happiness. After giving birth, a woman should consider her baby's health, her proper diet, and yes, even new shoes for the baby. Indeed, women and childbirth are inseparable facts of human life that even men should know about and appreciate. Keeping Oral Health of Children Oral hygiene is very important in children as poor oral hygiene may lead to poor health and other kind of dental diseases. The cavities and gum diseases not only affect the physical appearance of a person, but also lead to serious health problems such as insomnia, stroke and even hearing defects. It has been found from the studies that the poor oral care can contribute to the clogging of the arteries, problem of the lungs and even can damage the heart valves. This might be seen when an expectant woman having gum disease, makes a pre-mature deliver or the baby is very much in weight etc. Hence, it is very necessary to start a regular and good dental regime at the early age during childhood to avoid health problems and diseases at a later stage. For taking proper care of the teeth the child should be taught how to brush, clean and floss the teeth properly.
  • 21. Ways to keep the child’s oral health in pink: To keep the oral health at its prime, the child should follow all the fundamental steps recommended by almost all the dentists. This avoids the incidence of dental problems like gingivitis, halitosis, tartar and gum diseases. Apart from proper brushing, the other hygienic methods like the right method of flossing and using the mouthwash have to be taught. The American Dental Association even advises the parents of a new born to start cleaning their newborn child’s mouth within few days after birth. It is very important for the clarity of speech and chewing action in the kids. Parents of young children schedule regular oral health checkups around the first birthday of the kid. A pediatric dentist should be ideal choice for children. The baby’s gums and teeth can be wiped with a wet washcloth after each meal to help removing plaque that gets accumulated on the gums and teeth. Soft bristle toothbrushes with pea sized fluoridated toothpaste can be used to brush the teeth. Also the children should be taught to spit the toothpaste at a very early age and until then the children should use toothpaste without fluorine. Till the kids are good and comfortable doing flossing and brushing, the parents should assist the children. The children should be fed with calcium rich foods and supplements along with a good oral hygiene to maintain good oral health of children. The children can be encouraged to brush by changing the color and appearance of toothpastes. Most of the children do like to brush with a fluoride toothpaste but they should be able to spit after brushing. Also, the children need to brush twice a day. Eating snacks made of sugar and carbohydrates needs to be avoided if not at least the teeth should be brushed properly after eating them. It is a good idea to eat nutrition rich food like vegetable, fruits etc instead of sugar candies as they both provide the required nutrition and also strengthens the teeth due to the chewing action. Steps to Ending Bad Eating Habits A client wrote, "Help me! I thought I was finally getting a handle on my weight issue but the sugar is killing me. I had an awful day. I won't even tell you what I ate today because it is just so unbelievable. All I will say is that 90% of my food today consisted of sugar! I really, really need some help getting past these cravings. I am no doubt a sugar addict. If I could get past this there is no doubt that I will reach my goal." If you see a little of yourself in this message, you're not alone. Many describe themselves as sugar addicts. They believe if it were only for that one thing, then they could reach their weight loss goals. If you believe only one thing stands in your way of losing weight, consider this: What if that one thing (an addiction to sugar for instance) were gone? Do you really believe, "If I could get past this, there is no doubt that I will reach my goal," or is it an easy excuse to stay stuck? If I told you I could show you a way to stop craving sugar, would you want me to show you how? Think about that for a moment. Close your eyes and really think it through. You've said if only you didn't crave sugar, then you could lose weight, but is that really true for you? Ask yourself these questions: - Would you eat differently, and if so how?
  • 22. - Would you act differently, and if so how? - What else would change, and what would stay the same? - What would you lose? - What would you gain? Until you know what you want, know you can achieve it, and know what else will change (i.e. how your life may be different), you can't discover any obstacles that first must be considered. For instance, you may want to stop eating anything after 7 PM yet your husband doesn't come home from work until 8 and he wants you to join him for dinner. That's an obstacle. If you've got a habit of watching your favorite TV show with a bowl of ice cream, then breaking that habit is another obstacle. If you don't work out ways to overcome your obstacles perhaps through discussion and compromise with your husband, or habit breaking exercises for your ice cream habit, there's bound to be a problem. Just saying you're not going to do something any mroe rarely works. Instead determine what might stand in the way of achieving your goals, find a way around them, and you're much more likely to actually achieve those goals once and for all. The statement, "if this one thing were handled, then everything else would fall into place" is an "If Then" statement and gets people into trouble. They want a fairy godmother to make it all better. A strong belief that one single thing such as, "eating sugar is my problem," sets you up to fail, especially if you really like eating sugary foods. Getting a handle on your cravings is not an all-or-nothing proposition. You must leave room for occasional deviations. It's not the occasional side trip that causes weight trouble, it's the road we usually travel. In NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) a good starting point is the exercise called Establishing a Well Formed Outcome. "Well formed" means it meets all criteria of a well thought-out end result. NLP: How to Create a Well Formed Outcome & Get What You Want Here are the steps to creating a well formed outcome: 1) State what you want (not what you do not want). "I want to weigh 135 pounds." 2) Determine whether you can achieve it (do you believe it is possible?). 3) What resources do you have and what do you need (time, money, gear, clothes, equipment, coaching, whatever). 4) Check whether anyone else is involved and any potential obstacles that may come up regarding others. Think of everyone involved in your day-to-day life. 5) Picture yourself "as if" you've obtained what you say you want and see if that picture fits. Do you like what you see? 6) Put together a plan of action for the achievement of your outcome. While it may seem like a lot of effort simply to decide what you really want, going through these steps at the beginning helps you find potential obstacles which previously stopped you from moving forward. For example, if you decide you want to join a gym and start exercising every day but you've forgotten you don't even own a car and just lost your job, that exercise plan might not work out right now.
  • 23. If you did join a gym, you'd end up not going and then you'd think you'd failed, yet it was the plan that failed, not you. You didn't think it through. A better plan in this instance may be doing exercises at home, or within walking distance (or simply walking for exercise). Later, when you do have transportation, you can rethink the plan and perhaps join a gym then. There are always options. It's better to look at what you want from every angle, then put together a plan you know can and will work. Then when you know what you want, you'll also know you can make it happen and begin by taking that first step toward making it a reality. "Achieving a Well Formed Outcome" is one of the sessions in the Ending Emotional Eating 8-Week Workshop. You can also find more information on this popular and well known NLP process by searching for "NLP Well Formed Outcome" in your favorite search engine. A Guide To General Female Health A number of novels and stories of the early 18th and 19th centuries often portray women as mad and irrational beings, thus, espousing the creation of mad women literature. But, modern medicine dispels this "mad" attribute. By establishing that women's hormones are more sensitive and susceptible to change than that of men, more attention is given to female health. Menstruation, menopause, PMS, and perimenopause - these are all part and parcel of general health topics related to women. Aside from that similarity of being part of female health, these phenomena are due to one thing: hormonal changes. Hormones are fickle, they change with the slightest variation in diets or physical activity. Sometimes even emotional upheavals are enough to make women's hormones go haywire. Researchers on female health come up with studies on the relationship of female psycho-emotional well-being and their physical health. More often than not, hormones are the established links between this relationship. Hormonal imbalances are the usual culprits for a number of health disorders in women. Although some of the symptoms are associated with other illnesses, their root remains to be unbalanced hormones. As varied as general health topics are, they range from physical manifestations to psychological and emotional troubles. Physical manifestations of hormonal imbalances include fatigue, weakness, weight gain, weight loss, digestive problems, hot flashes, and joint pain. Other symptoms are more pronounced and less insidious like hair loss and dry skin. Unfortunately, with the demands of career and family life, women often ignore these symptoms as merely due to excess work and overall tiredness. Some attempt to cure their symptoms with remedies and rest that do not work. Hormonal imbalances need medical attention and hormonal supplements to be treated properly. Otherwise, symptoms grow worse with heart palpitations, increased nausea, urinary dysfunction, breast pain, and vaginal dryness. However, having high cholesterol is not good and should be lowered. Regardless of how we get it, lowering high cholesterol is always a good idea. We get cholesterol in two ways, through our body and mainly the liver. Every day, our bodies produce amounts of cholesterol that we don’t need. Animal foods like eggs, poultry, meat, seafood and milk contain a lot of cholesterol, which add to the levels we produce naturally. The safest foods are vegetables, seeds, nuts and fruits, as these do not encourage further production of cholesterol. Lowering cholesterol requires finding the right diet for you and sticking to it. The main source for cholesterol is saturated fatty acids. This makes your blood cholesterol rise abruptly and could cause heart disease. Trans fat also contributes to raising your blood cholesterol level. But diet can beat it all. The American Heart Association has recommended that the limit for your daily cholesterol should be no more that 300 milligrams. If your diet is maintained properly you will dramatically lower your cholesterol. Diet plays a vital role in lowering cholesterol. Choosing your food is the best way to start. Choose foods that contain low saturated fat. Saturated fat can be found in foods from animals, such as poultry, meat, lard and vegetable oils like palm oil, coconut and palm kernel. Did you know that the dietary cholesterol can still raise your blood cholesterol level? The answer is yes, although it is not that high in saturated fat Avoid foods that come from animals. These types of foods are the richest in saturated fat and they are not recommended for high daily intake. You can supplement your diet with the help of lecithin. This is helpful and it contains phosphatidyl choline which is able to increase the solubility of the cholesterol in your body and allows the fatty deposits in your bloodstream to break down.

Observing this diet is a must because your cholesterol is something you should maintain and watch out for in order to stay healthy, fit, and free from heart disease. Lowering cholesterol can be observed and achieved by choosing the foods you eat. If you are suffering with high cholesterol, you should consult your primary care physician first before making any changes in your diet. Avoid using any of these products if you are allergic to it. The responsibility lies with the reader and not with the site or the writer. Allergy Management Guidelines These days of increasing pollution levels mean that more and more people are becoming victims of a variety of allergens, which are the various substances that cause an allergic reaction. These can be anything from a certain type of food coloring to pet dander or even a certain chemical that is present in seafood. There are also more and more children being born with allergies, so there is an all-over rise in the incidence of allergies. Given the impact that allergies can have on a person’s life, there are a variety of devices available that can help to decrease the advent of certain allergens in a specific environment. This has helped make the lives of many people who have severe allergies a lot easier and raised their quality of life. There are, however, no methods of curing allergies and therefore the best measure that can be taken is to create an environment where the occurrence of the allergens is greatly reduced. The severity of the allergy also has a bearing on what measures must be taken to ensure that there are no allergens present in a given environment. For example, if the allergen is contained in food then especially stringent measures must be taken to ensure that none is mixed with other food, since the worst type of allergy reactions tend to be when somebody swallows something that contains the allergen. The worst allergic reaction is when a person goes into anaphylactic shock, which can lead to death if not treated in time. Even if the allergy is not as severe as that, there is still the everyday discomfort that will lower the quality of life for anyone who has to live with this. The type and severity of the allergy will be the determining steps when deciding what steps need to be taken to ensure that person suffering from the allergy is kept out of harms way. The simplest step is to avoid the source of the allergens, but in some cases this may well be impossible. One of the most common allergies is stated as being allergic to “dust”, this is however a misconception. There are very few people who are actually allergic to dust, but there are a very large portion of people who are allergic to dust mites and their excretions. These dust mites are commonly found in household dust, pet dander and feathers. There are very few people that can create an environment that is completely free of these allergens without going to massive expense. There are however products available that can decrease the amount of these allergens in the immediate environment, particularly in the bed room. There are products available that can decrease the occurrence of allergens that commonly occur in the home. These can help to return the standard of living for those with mild allergies to that of those who do not suffer from allergies.
  • 31. These products can also help those who suffer from severe allergies, but are unlikely to completely eliminate the source of the allergy, depending on what exactly the source is. The biggest aid to those with severe allergies is a constant supply of anti-histamines. The products will help to stop the further aggravation of the allergic reactions. Alternative Medicines Vs Conventional Medicines There are many choices when looking for alternative medicines. Today, more people are turning to these alternatives for their treatments than ever before. These types of medicines provide a different approach than conventional medicine in health care systems and practices. What is Alternative Medicine? Some examples of alternative medicine are chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, homeopathy, osteopathy, and naturopathy. Although you may be unfamiliar with these treatments, there are people all over the world successfully using them. In several ways, alternative medicine offers a different outlook on healthcare than conventional medicine. The usual treatments are surgery, chemotherapy, antibiotics and other types of drugs; however, there is growing evidence and awareness that alternative treatments can be less costly, less invasive, and sometimes safer than well-known conventional treatments. A Higher Stand of Health The goal of alternative medicine is a higher standard of health, not just the absence of disease. For many years, individuals were given a clean bill of health without considering their emotional, spiritual or social needs. Alternative medicine considers the health and well being of the person by evaluating the physical, emotional and psychological makeup and needs. The patient is examined as a person and not just a number or case. Patients are encouraged to participate in decisions instead of being a passive subject. Healing the Body Conventional medicine has typically treated and removed symptoms as quickly as possible. Sometimes the results are dramatic and immediate with traditional surgeries and medicines. Sometimes, however, this creates other physical problems. The alternative is to help the body heal itself. By using less dramatic treatment, the body is given a chance to work through its own healing therapy. Instead of synthetic medicines, the use of whole foods, herbs, homeopathic and nutritional supplements are utilized. The results may take longer but in the end the body will be healthier. True healing can occur in this way, increasing the chances that the symptoms will not return. Finding an Alternative Professional If you are planning to consult an alternative professional for a specific need, it is recommended that you consult with a medical doctor or osteopathic physician to get a diagnosis. They go through extensive training in diagnosing illnesses and diseases. This step could lead you to the correct treatment and avoid confusion. After you have had your exam and diagnosis, ask for the recommended treatment. Then look for an alternative treatment that may be easier on your body and possibly more effective. There are different ways to find a practitioner. One of the most helpful is to get referrals from family and friends, your doctor, or other health care providers. Also use the resources at the library, the Internet, and medical information organizations.
  • 32. When you have a list of referrals, begin to gather information on the professionals. Ask for literature, find out how long they have been practicing, and what practices they use. Check to see if your insurance policy will cover their fees and what will be expected from you. Having a Consultation Be prepared when you consult with the professional. Describe your symptoms or condition clearly. Be sure to include a complete medical history. Explain what you have learned about alternative treatments. Listen carefully to the suggested treatment and ask questions to make sure you understand. Ask what the benefits will be from this therapy. Find out how long the treatment will take and if you should expect side effects. Making a Choice Did he answer your questions and make you comfortable? Is the treatment acceptable to you? Now you can decide if this practitioner is right for you. Before you choose alternative medicines, take the steps necessary to ensure you are treating the problem, not just the symptoms. You'll soon discover the long-term benefits of alternative medicines. How To Get Rid Of Toxic Black Mold Mold exposure does not always present a health problem indoors. However some people are sensitive to molds. These people may experience symptoms such as nasal stuffiness, eye irritation, wheezing, or skin irritation when exposed to molds. Some people may have more severe reactions to molds. Severe reactions may occur among workers exposed to large amounts of molds in occupational settings, such as farmers working around moldy hay. Severe reactions may include fever and shortness of breath. Immunocompromised persons and persons with chronic lung diseases like COPD are at increased risk for opportunistic infections and may develop fungal infections in their lungs. How to Remove Molds? In most cases mold can be removed from hard surfaces by a thorough cleaning with commercial products, soap and water, or a bleach solution of 1 cup of bleach in 1 gallon of water. Absorbent or porous materials like ceiling tiles, drywall, and carpet may have to be thrown away if they become moldy. If you have an extensive amount of mold and you do not think you can manage the cleanup on your own, you may want to contact a professional who has experience in cleaning mold in buildings and homes. It is important to properly clean and dry the area as you can still have an allergic reaction to parts of the dead mold and mold contamination may recur if there is still a source of moisture. If you choose to use bleach to clean up mold: 1.
  • 33. Specific Recommendations to prevent Mold: 1. Before cleanup begins, the affected area should be contained and HVAC systems should be shut down to prevent the spores from spreading. Each area affected by mold should be separately contained. Use plastic sheeting and duct tape to seal doorways, vents, and other openings. Where possible, place an exhaust fan in a window that is open to the outdoors to direct air flow and mold spores outside. To limit health risks and reduce the spread of mold spores ensure dust levels are kept to a minimum. Air purifiers and /or Ionizers can be used to minimize airborne particulate. How To Get Rid Of Home Termites According to the National Pest Management Association, termites destroy more homes each year than fires or floods. Annual damage estimates: $2.5 billion. "Unless you live in Alaska, where it gets very cold, your home is at risk," says Bayer Advanced - entomologist and Head of Product Innovation Dr. Ken Kukorowski. Termites are attracted to houses because houses often contain two major food ingredients for termites- wood and water. They digest cellulose in wood for energy and require moisture to keep from drying up. It's possible to have a very serious termite problem without even knowing it since evidence of termites is often hidden, such as mud tunnels or other signs that may be out of view. "Think about where the wood in your house is located," says Kukorowski. "It's behind your walls and mostly 'out of view.'" Subterranean termites, including Formosan termites, can enter a house from the ground or from aerial infestations but the termites attacking your home will be connected eventually to the ground or another source of moisture in the house (water leak, condensation). Preventing easy access to your home is a key defense against termites: Fix plumbing and roof leaks. Divert water at least 18 inches away from your house with properly functioning downspouts, gutters and splash blocks. Keep firewood at least 10 feet away from the foundation of your home. Do not let mulch or soil touch siding on your home. Better yet, keep it about a foot away. Eliminate all "wood/ground" contact near your home, except if the wood is pressure treated, permitted for soil contact. Seal foundation cracks (to help prevent moisture from entering). Hire a professional to conduct an annual inspection.
