2. Jesus gave them this answer: ‘Very truly I tell
you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can
do only what he sees his Father doing, because
whatever the Father does the Son also does.
For the Father loves the Son and shows him all
he does. Yes, and he will show him even
greater works than these, so that you will be
amazed.
John 5: 19-20
3. So Jesus said, ‘When you have lifted up the
Son of Man, then you will know that I am he
and that I do nothing on my own but speak
just what the Father has taught me. The one
who sent me is with me; he has not left me
alone, for I always do what pleases him.’
John 8: 28-29
4. Do not believe me unless I do the works of my
Father. But if I do them, even though you do not
believe me, believe the works, that you may
know and understand that the Father is in me,
and I in the Father.’
John 10: 37-38
5. Years ago at a Pastor’s conference, John
Wimber stopped in the middle of his message
and said to the large crowd, “Many of you
want to know the secret of how I operate in
spiritual gifts. I will tell you right now exactly
how I do it.” There was an immediate stir
throughout the room and a sudden surge of
interest.
6. “As soon as you walk out of this session,”
John shared, “watch for any situation in
which you feel that God wants you to join
him. Whether what is needed is simply
kindness or revelation or prayer – give
whatever you feel the Holy Spirit provides
you.” Then John continued, “After that, look
for the next situation that seems to you to be
one that God cares about and do the same
thing.”
7. John repeated this two or three more times.
By the time he was done, most of the crowd
had stopped taking notes – this information
didn’t seem like much of a secret at all.
[Then] John said, “All of you want to be
where I am now; none of you wants to start
where I started.”
