How to make the right decisions about your content delivery architecture in a headless way.
Debates about the respective merits of headless and
non-headless CMSs have been ongoing during the past
few years. You may well have been ignoring them. After all,
CMS architecture isn’t exactly a go-to dinner party subject—
even for the most content-obsessed marketers....
We’ve been using CMS to manage website content for 20+ years. But the world has changed. Today, we live in a multi-channel world. People spend more time using mobile than desktop. Traditional CMS products weren’t built for these scenarios, in most cases, they were built as a coupled CMS for websites.
We need a new breed of CMS that will better support multi-channel digital experiences. Headless approach separates content management and its presentation.
Cloud-first headless CMS provides huge benefits for modern marketers and developers. It’s not just a temporary trend for some niche market, it will change the CMS world over the next five years.
Go to www.kenticocloud.com and see what a cloud-first headless CMS can do for you.

"Together we break away from the traditional eCommerce monolith, while writing tomorrow’s leading software today."
This presentation is about building the first Headless Magento shop: therake.com. This shop is build with Wordpress and Magento 2 at the base, combined with a nodeJS server and a ReactJS front-end. We include what is Headless? Why would you do this? How did we do it? What is the result and finally why we think this is the future of e-commerce.
The presentation was one of the plenary keynote session on Meet Magento Poland, 18 - 19th of September 2017 in Krakow.
The trend of headless CMSs is certainly an exciting one and one you should surely consider if you haven’t done so already. It provides ecommerce teams with superior flexibility and developers with a much faster and agile way of developing. It might very well be the future.

Mainframe Modernization with AWS: Patterns and Best PracticesAmazon Web Services
In this webinar, learn common mainframe migration patterns and best practices for a successful migration to AWS. Hear experiences and lessons learned based on real-world customer modernization projects to AWS.
Microsoft SQL Server Migration Strategies (WIN302) - AWS re:Invent 2018Amazon Web Services
Migrating SQL Server databases to the cloud is a critical part of a cloud journey and requires planning and architectural considerations. In this session, we cover best practices and guidelines in migrating and/or architecting a hybrid SQL Server architecture on AWS. We compare and contrast various migration methods, including SQL export, backup and restore, and using AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS). We also provide guidance on how to migrate products that have approached their end of life, such as SQL Server 2008.
An Introduction to the AWS Well Architected Framework - WebinarAmazon Web Services
The AWS Well-Architected Framework enables customers to understand best practices around security, reliability, performance, cost optimization and operational excellence when building systems on AWS. This approach helps customers make informed decisions and weigh the pros and cons of application design patterns for the cloud.
In this one hour webinar, you'll learn how to use the AWS Well-Architected Framework to follow guidelines and best practices for your architecture on AWS.
How to make Headless Commerce Strategy.Aureate Labs
Headless Commerce and PWA define future-proof opportunities for retailers as both of the technology enhancement deliver faster site speed. This builds an omnichannel strategy to make the customer experience better and also helps in achieving Return on Investment, as an effective result.
This form of technology adoption will also help businesses to develop increasing engagement with customization available for content, products, and similar resources.
Moving from an on-premises environment into AWS is just the start of the journey towards cost optimisation. In this session we’ll look at a range of ways in which our customers can understand their costs and increase their return-on-investment: building the business case; selecting the right models for the right workloads; benefiting from tiered pricing aggregation; using data to drive the choice of AWS services; implementation of intelligent auto-scaling; and, where appropriate, re-platforming to make use of new architectural patterns such as Serverless.
We describe how to use the Well-Architected Framework to evaluate the technology solutions built by your teams. The AWS Well-Architected Framework describes best practices across five pillars (Security, Reliability, Performance, Operational Excellence, and Cost), and provides a consistent approach to review architectures against those best practices. This review process shows where your architectures can be improved, and helps you address weakness that may put your business at risk
Content Migration involves migrating all the content assets to the new system. In this presentation, the fundamentals of migrating content to the AEM are covered. You can learn more about content migration here - http://insights.tothenew.com/cq-aem-migrating-content-to-aem
The tutorial includes principles, key difference between manual and automated, 5 steps to basic migration, 3 steps to an ETL cycle. The tutorial begins with a section on principles which includes principles of content migration to AEM.
Following is a section on key differences between manual and automated. It includes differences like approach, control over content, time taken, type of coding, times to be tested for migrating content to AEM.
In addition to this, is a section on steps to basic migration. It includes 5 keys steps to a basic content migration flow like obtaining, cleaning, organizing, ensuring URLs, uploading. The last section of this tutorial is on steps to an ETL cycle. It includes 3 key steps of an ETL cycle like extaction, transformation, loading. It also includes using sling posts, content loader as well as package manager.

Shift Remote FRONTEND: Optimizing Content Management with the Headless CMS - ...Shift Conference
Traditional CMS mix content with the frontend code (which is usually stack specific), and this limits the content to just the application it is built upon. With the headless CMS, the frontend component of the CMS is decoupled from the app, content becomes independent, and you don't have to worry about how and where the content gets displayed but instead just storage and delivery of structured content. This content can then be served on different applications any time across all platforms via REST/ GraphQL APIs (JSON, XML) or the Git workflow while maintaining the speed, security, and scalability of the JAMstack architecture. In this talk, Bolaji will show you how content management can be optimized using the headless CMS to ensure the reusability of content across several digital platforms (web, mobile, smartwatches, VR headsets or home assistants).
A content management system is a critical part of a new age website permitting an application or group of a number of applications of computerized content to be overseen without coding or developing new pages.

A headless CMS is similar to decoupled CMS architecture, but does not have a distinct frontend system to which to publish. Sitecore is originally designed as a headless CMS. It stores content as items, and Sitecore’s layout engine places those objects, or modules.

51. API-first or headless CMS let users manage content through a web UI.
Headless CMS allow developers to decouple content management from content rendering, as
opposite to monolithic coupled CMS (content is stored in a backend database AND rendered in
frontend templates using HTML/CSS).
Unlike a tradi6onal CMS, an API-first CMS exposes its content data via a consumable API.
Headless CMS are not concerned about how you choose to display content.
It pushes raw content (e.g. JSON or XML) for you to fetch and display anywhere.
