Autism is a spectrum disorder that affects individuals differently. Common issues include difficulties with communication and social interaction, as well as rigid or repetitive behaviors. Symptoms often emerge around age 3 and can vary from mild to severe. Children with autism may struggle with verbal and nonverbal communication, relating to others, and flexible or controlled thinking. While its causes are unclear, genetics and environmental factors during pregnancy may play a role. Early intervention services can help children with autism develop skills at their own pace.

The project I have chosen to radically revise my second paper about Autism and Education. I plan on making an informative power point based on the researched information from my paper. In the power point, I will discuss the different options available to the parents of children with autism. The different options I will discuss include enrolling a child in a private school, the process of enrolling a child in public school, and enrolling a child in an alternative school. For each option, I will discuss the pros and cons, advantages and disadvantages of each choice. The objectives of my power point include informing parents of autism more about the disorder, outlining the step by step process of enrolling a child into a special education program in a public school, outlining the different laws associated with how the public school systems and special education, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each option, and give references for more information on Autism and how to help out the cause. The goal of the power point overall is to inform parents of children with autism of their different options, and hopefully it will become an aid in their decision when it comes time to decide how they want to educate their child. I also plan on providing more information on Autism, so they will be able to learn more about the disorder and have some references to find more information about it.
As for the interface, I will be using Microsoft Powerpoint. In the program there is an option to ‘Publish as a Webpage”, which is how I am going to publish my work. I will be posting the link to the webpage I created with the power point to a blog I created so it will be accessible to a wide audience. By using a blog as well I give the audience a chance to provide feedback on my website, or a forum to post more information. Parents can post their opinions, choices, or provide advice for each other.

Effects that Autism has on Children
Autism is group of closely related disorders and they are all grouped together in a
cluster called Autism spectrum disorders. All of the disorders that are in this cluster have a
“dash of autism and then there is just autismin there as well. The thing is one person that has
autism will have different affects and different problems than another person. Not one person
that as autism or another ASD will have the same effects. One common problem that the
people that have an ASD is they have many problems with talking and communicating with
other people.
Since there are many different effects and symptoms you will see that different people
have symptoms that someone else will not have. These effects can be only very mild and not be
as severe like many others. The only thing that your child or a person may have might be in
their speech and that may be it. Autism does do some damage to some people’s brain and the
way they act in social situations but they may only be it. People can live with this disorders and
many other ASD’s it is just an adjustment to the problems that have unfortunately have been
given to a person. These people or children are very special in a very different way because of
them being able to adapt to the problems that they have.
Out of all of the symptoms and the effects they are split into three main categories.
Those three categories are communicating verbally and non-verbally. They have a hard time
relating to others and the world around them. Plus thinking and behaving flexibly in their brains
and controlling their behavior. Sometimes their behavior cannot be controlled and they react to
something in a very different way or they will say or do something at the wrong place at the

wrong time. This is something that they cannot control because they do not much control on
the way that they act.
When someone that is diagnosed with autism it is usually shown when they are very
young right around the age of three years old. This disorder is started at a very young age and
many symptoms can be seen at these young age. These are some of the things that you should
look out for are they do not smile back at you when you smile at them, they do not point or
wave goodbye to get people’s attention, and when they do not make noises to get your
attention. These are only a plethora of things to look at your at a very young age to see if your
child has any chance of getting autism or another ASD.
Since some of these children have some issues following directions or communicating
with others including family members have to adapt as well. Sometimes the way that the house
is run or the way they do things is changed so that the or the person that has autism can feel
comfortable Giving a child that has autism a strict routine to follow in the morning and the day
they are given structure which allows them to feel a little more comfortable. Then, the child
knows that if they go out of their routine that there will be some consequences.
Communication is the main key because how are they going to get better with their
communication skills. If family members or parents help to improve their skills then, they can
overcome these problems and they do not have to be social awkward. Around 40% of children
with autismhave trouble speaking barely talk and if you work maybe you can get them to open
up and talk to others. Kids can be in their own world and sometimes they have voices in their
head that tell them what to do or what to say.

There is not one definite cause for autism and some scientists have linked it to a group
of genetic factors. Somehow the environment has a play in the chance of if your child can have
autism or another ASD. Some cases of autismwere caused by a little thing like the child staying
in the wound too much. Also taking antidepressants and not getting enough folic acid in the
mother’s diet which could contribute to their child having autism.
Another factor that plays into the child being autistic could depend on how young the
mother is. There is an increased chance of having a child that is born with autismbecause of
how much older the father is than the mother. When the baby is born if it weighs very light it
got a increased chance of having a autistic child. These are small things that people do not think
about that much and they have a play in if your child will be autistic or not.
There are many places you can go to help your child if you think that he/she has autism.
These children have very different development rates than normal children. They pick up on
some things but not everything. It takes them more time figure out what they are doing or
learning. Everything has to be at a very slow pace which can make it much easier for them to
learn or develop a skill.
Sometimes the skills that everyone usually picks up relatively easy can be hard for these
kinds of children. At the same time though, a child that has autism can learn a very hard skill in
a shorter time than it takes them to learn that easy skill. When they are learning these skills
there has to be a certain kind of structure because they have the ability to learn at their own

pace and time. That is a very big step for these types of children because this will help them get
better at things while they age.
There is a special person that made me want to do this paper on autism. My mom has
worked for years with kids who have autism or Asperger’s it is kind of her calling. This year she
is working with one student her name is Janelle. She has many social skill problems and
sometimes she cannot control what she says or do. She sometimes has voices in her head that
tell her how to react or what even to do. One skill that my mother has helped her develop is a
way to block those voices out of her head so she can focus on school. Janelle struggles in most
of her subjects but she is very good at math and she kind of has a knack for math. She can do
much of her classwork by herself which is a great start for her when she goes on to high school.
In conclusion, autism is a disorder that has on an impact on how a child can develop and
learn skills throughout life and school. It is sad to see someone who has this but they do not
want you to feel sad for them because it is just a handicap they can live with. They can adapt to
their issues and make their life out of what they can. They such a positive outlook on life and
she lives it to the fullest. In their mind they are just someone special and they have some
special skill that others do not. So these kids make me love living and they show me that I have
a good life because they can do it with the issues they have. That makes me have a great
outlook on life and keep a positive attitude all the time.
