inventories are immediately available to
employees, and that they are updated when
necessary

Who Supplies MSDSs to

for all the products which the sell.

 Subcontractor HSE has the responsibility for the
training of all workers on the hazards associated
with the products or chemicals which they may
use, and how to use these products safely. This is
done before any employee reports to their work
assignment, and at the safety fair on an annually

Inhalation
You can inhale chemicals in the form of
fumes, vapors, gases, or aerosols

You can ingest chemicals directly through
accidental intake, or indirectly through
intake of contaminated materials

Dermal Exposure
Chemicals can also go directly through the
skin. This is known as dermal exposure.

You can also be injected with a chemical
agent via a needle stick, or by being
punctured with any other type of “sharp”

The second preference, are methods of

Chemical exposures are
classified into two categories
Acute
Chronic

Acute Exposure
An acute exposure is one which is a single
exposure and the effects are immediate.
Effects usually range from mild irritation to
death. The general rule is if it doesn’t kill
you, you will recover completely.

Chronic Exposure
A chronic exposure is persistent, prolonged
and repeated. If you are exposed in the
manner, usually, by the time you recognize
the symptoms of an adverse effect, it is too
late. YOU already have some type of
permanent systemic damage.
