  6. Which is highlighted by this statistic - 33% of employers do not think that their organisation has the talent needed to achieve current business objectives. Quite a startling figure, which highlights that skills shortages are a very real issue which is already impacting on employers. <<Click>>
  7. Here’s that figure again! Employees are more confident to move roles than we’ve seen in quite some time. Our survey showed that almost two-thirds of employees plan to move jobs in the next year. <<Click>>

  10. So what else are candidates looking for if salary alone isn’t sufficient? One key aspect is the benefits package. Particularly for those people who receive multiple offers, a good benefits package could be the deciding factor. The most common benefits offered by employers as part of a standard package are above statutory pension, childcare vouchers, financial support for training, cycle to work scheme and over 25 days annual leave. <<Click>>
  11. Despite the relatively positive work-life balance findings, many of the employees we speak to still ask us about flexible working options in new jobs they are considering. Flexible working has become the buzzword of how to attract the younger generation, how to ensure a more diverse workforce and the backbone of responsible employers. It is therefore interesting to look at what flexible working options are important to professionals when they are considering a new role because these are some of the aspects that employers need to take note of if they are looking for candidates in skills-short areas and want to appeal to a larger audience. 69% of respondents stated that flexi-time is quite or very important, followed by 60% who feel that working from home is an important benefit in a new role. Our survey found that term-time working, annual hours and job sharing are least favoured by workers. Although it is becoming more commonplace, it is also worth noting that flexible working doesn’t seem to rate quite so highly for employers. Only 39% of employers said that that they actively encourage their employees to take up flexible working options. <<Click>>
